Let's remember that Disneyland's fireworks are pretty much the best in the world. Years of near nightly practice and a big budget does that. It makes us think that all fireworks should be synchronized and timed. But if you see fireworks pretty much anywhere else in the country (other amusement parks, city fireworks shows), they're all much like what SFMM did. It's like comparing a Broadway show to a local high school production and saying "it pales in comparison". Well, duh. I am with you about them playing the closing announcement mid-way through. That was odd. On a separate note, can I rant about Swashbuckler... after all this time, I waited for a Yo-Yo that still doesn't tilt???? Really? Is it that hard to have a Yo-Yo tilt? What am I missing here? like i said, "no real surprise there" and yes, i have seen city shows with some synchronized fireworks in small cities, like, the day before at my local city hall.

went and got a couple rides in on TC and saw the fireworks. great show, except when they played the final announcement thank you about 5 minutes in. lol it was good with a lot of shots fired, but compared to disneyland, sorry, but it pales in comparison. no real surprise there. i don't think i've watched any kind of fireworks there since mystic lake was there.

for the most part, they get it right in the emails with each park. i'm subscribed to a few six flags parks email lists. the only reason i see they used that photo was because of the colors and the 4th of july event. but others, like the games or other things to do in the park, are always some random shot from another park. well, i'm sure it's from one of the parks, so they'll get it right once. lol they should have used this one, that was in one of the emails.

small trip report from today, July 2nd. well, maybe just some random thoughts... sister in town with family and since TC is new and good. everyone decided to go. we used to hit every park in so cal when the kids were little, but not so much any more. got my bro in law and nephew to buy the gold pass with parking deal i got emailed to me last week for $62.99 each. great deal and i believe cheapest it's been all year. rode TC twice today. single rider line seemed very slow. we beat it on the second ride. i wasn't paying attention the first time. even saw a train leave with one employee in the front and no one in the next two rows. lol i sat by myself on one of the rides. the grouper was barely getting the rows covered in time. so slow, so single rider wasn't always being picked from. many employees were really busy today... lol but seriously, we had a good day. line for TC was roughly 40 minutes, 3 train operation which was nice because 2 train on monday sucked. sort of dueled once on each ride. apocalypse is pretty crazy shaky. i couldn't keep my vision straight. i tried to keep my back of the back of the seat and it seemed a tiny bit more comfortable. i rode the newly refurbished train and the cushions are nice and cushiony. lol 2 train operation and total walk on. oh, and btw, that crew was hauling serious ass. put that crew on TC, and you'd duel every time. i braved viper in the front row and while not horrible, i can't marathon it like i would have in the 90's. walk on and could have stayed on all day probably without getting off it was so dead. we waited one train to get the front. batman was 2 train operation, sorry, i'm not sure if that's just been common place lately, i hadn't ridden it in some time. so, anyway, walk on too today. scream, walk on. drop of doom was probably roughly a 20 minute wait. i bought an all year drink cup monday and abused it over and over today. paid for itself today alone. also took advantage of my meal plan and got a couple meals and a cookie. oh, and here's where the monitors are in the TC line... anyway, overall good day, had fun, blah blah.

Or like KBF who has the midly entertaining video playing that gives loading instructions for Silver Bullet. Something like that (especially if done as a humorous skit or something similarly entertaining that "tricks" people into paying attention) would go a long way. yeah, they can play it on the monitors in the que...oh wait. LOL Not a huge expense to put a couple large monitors in the que. SFDK has monitors in a lot of the queues playing looney toons, I think a few rides at SFMM have something similar. Putting a couple flat screens in there with an instructional video would pay off in saved money from efficiency. i'm with you there. unexplainable imo why they aren't there. along with the on ride photo. etc. etc. The on ride photo business is a relic of the last decade. There's not much money in it anymore. Regarding monitors...If I'm the Twisted Colossus project manager, that's pretty low on my list of priorities. might not be at magic mountain, but other parks eat that stuff up. always lines to get them last year at CP, SFGAM and King's Island when i was there, including me. lol well, because they had the 1 dollar pictures from six flags, and buy all day photos at CP and SFGAM. anyway, no monitors just shows a low budget, like the cheap wall, scream "3d" sign, and all the wrap graphics.

if they just simply announced, hurry your ass up, don't mess around, that would sure help. a video of how to get in and out, like star tours/soarin over california. how many times to they repeat at cedar point, seatbelt first, lap bar second, over and over. i know it will be ignored by many, but also not ignored by many. it's not hard to expect some hustle in a ride operator. management just needs to stress that and make it part of the job. not strolling back to position. let's also not forget that when it duels, it's because the green lift is slower than ever now. so i think they even have more time than the way the program was running during the commercial shoot. it seems so easy when these things are done by other parks. lol

Yeah I think at the very least they need to do something with signs or audio announcements to warn people about how easy it is for things to fly out so that they know ahead of time and that doesnt happen. Ideally I agree there should be mandatory bunnies for this TC just like X2. Up north at SFDK, Superman is a coaster that has a very quick pop of strong airtime coming up the first hill that can eject things from pockets as shown in Robb's video, a very slow barrel roll that can dump things out of your pants pockets, and for the back row or 2 another bit of ejector airtime coming down the hill after the bill roll. This park, to it's credit, always has an employee standing at the entrance to the queue (next to a large bank of bunnies). That employee visually scans any guest for any loose items and doesnt allow them to enter if they see anything and can instruct guests if theyre unsure about what they can bring on. Theyre very strict about loose articles because they know how easily those loose articles can become dangerous projectiles. I can't remember the last time I saw a problem as you described happening on that coaster. I think it's extremely noteworthy that with a ride that only holds a max of one train of 12 people that should be a capacity nightmare, they do an oustanding job pushing people through it and other parks, especially SFMM, should follow their lead. SFMM should set up a bank of bunnies like this outside the entrance to TC and have an employee there to screen people as best as possible. There's always going to be the juvenile delinquents that sneak things on purpose, but this should at least cut way down on the ones that do it inadvertently. yeah, it's silly that they don't once announce no loose articles on the ride. yesterday, i saw someone told to take their fanny pack off. also saw multiple hate being thrown to the side, which an operator then had to pick up and put in a bin. only rode twice and saw 3 walks of shame, which i knew were all coming seeing them in line. some people behind me were told to put there phone away, then promptly pulled it out for some awesome shaky pov action throughout. i swear SFMM must have the most crappy pov videos on youtube. seems like every day, a new crap TC video is posted. i was lucky enough to duel once on each of my rides. but, they would hold the train in the station until the other came back to give them the best chance. great capacity move there when only running two trains on a busy day.

although i'm one of the ones who doesn't bother riding X2 anymore, i think it's a must ride at least once if you never have. then, i'm sure you'll either love it or hate it. it's very unique, so i think it's good to ride. goliath, depending on what hyper coaster you're able to ride near you, might be skipped if you're pressed for time. i still ride it a lot because i like big drops, and that's about all that's near me. just my 2 cents

i ride a lot of OTR rides like an ostrich stretching their head out. so, i don't bang my head too often. works better for me than holding it hard against the headrest and feeling every bump in the track or wheels. revolution is so uncomfortable. the seats, the OTR's, the lap bar. it all seems in the wrong place for me. i can still enjoy a front seat ride though.
