Best and Lamest Coaster "Ending"
GoBears replied to Teddymonster's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The best: The Beast. I simply love the ending with the tunnels. It shakes you but that's what makes it intense and fun. The worst: Adventure Express. It's just creepy. -
They wouldn't necessarily have to announce Ragin' Cajun's removal right now. They could announce it sometime next month because it can run through the rest of the year. The removal of Ragin' Cajun from SFGAm and assembly at SFA is very simple compared to bigger coasters or even a coaster like Iron Wolf. Cajun can be packed up and shipped in no time. As far as your comment about them not receiving many original coasters, it's quite simple. The parks that don't receive as much attendance or bring in as much money as other parks in the chain receive cheaper installments most of the time. They also receive a lot of "hand me down" rides because it's cheap while still fooling a lot of the general public into thinking it's a new attraction. It may not seem fair, but it's just how business usually works.

First Coaster from [Insert Manufacturer Here]
GoBears replied to GigaG's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Intamin - American Eagle B&M - Raging Bull Vekoma - Spacely's Sprocket Rockets Arrow - Demon Schwarzkopf - Whizzer Premier Rides - Revenge of the Mummy (USO) Dinn Corporation - Mean Streak CCI - Cyclops Gravity Group - Hades (original) GCI - American Thunder Zamperla - Ragin' Cajun Mack - TDK Coaster Maurer Söhne - Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit PTC - Blue Streak S&S - HellCat (formerly Avalanche) I might be missing a few smaller manufacturers. -
The announcement will likely be the last Thursday of this month (29th) but we should know what the attraction is on August 21st when Six Flags has a meeting with Gurnee to announce their plans and get them approved by the board. The original meeting was August 23rd but it has been moved up to the 21st. It's open to the public so we'll likely know what it is then or at least what type of ride it is.

The Southwest Amphitheater area isn't all that big but it's plenty of room for a flat ride or two or a bigger flat ride and its queue area. The width of the amphitheater is literally the same length as the stretch of track on Demon from its first loop to the end of the 2nd loop to put it in perspective. There's not much room to expand around it since it's surrounded on all sides by River Rocker, Giant Drop, Raging Bull, and American Eagle. The only open side goes out into the pathway where the Coke zone thing (I forgot the name) was at.

Coasters you have been on that are gone now

Deja Vu (SFGAm - relocated) Disaster Transport Dive to Atlantis Galaxi (Riverview) Iron Wolf (relocated) Wildcat (CP) I think that's it. -
Best Dark Roller Coaster?
GoBears replied to drewelap's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I've been on a few like FoF (KI), Space Mountain, and Disaster Transport but my favorite is by far Revenge of the Mummy at USO. -
Another cool sound is Ricochet at SFGAm and other flats of the same type. It let's off that big sound of compressed air (or whatever it is) every time it raises and lowers the cars.

I went to SFGAm yesterday and everything had a very short wait. I only got to stay for an hour and half though because of a family emergency so I had to leave around noon. I hit up Viper first and got the first train of the day. I still consider it one of the more underrated airtime machines. Always packs a nice little punch! Next I went to Raging Bull and waited only 5 minutes. The red train has been assembled but was still sitting on the storage track. They might wait until this weekend to run it. Raging Bull always provides a fun and smooth ride. After I got off, I hit up X-Flight for the first time this season. That first drop always has such a unique and exciting feeling. After this I went to my favorite coaster in the park, American Eagle. It was only running the red side but both trains were going. It's definitely the roughest coaster in the park since Wolf left but still my favorite because of that classic thrill it provides. I went to Viper once more and then had to leave. I wish I could've gotten pictures but that was the last thing on my mind. Maybe next time when I go again in a couple weeks.

You're correct. I didn't see that in the search so that's my fault. I did make this topic to include flat rides and other attraction sounds as well in addition to roller coasters sounds though.

While replying, type your link, highlight it, and then click on the "youtube" button on the far right. Top Thrill's launch is another favorite of mine. I love that high pitch wind up sound when standing beside it.

My favorites are... 1. American Eagle - It seems like it takes forever to get down but it feels much steeper than it actually is. 2. The Boss - I love the first drop followed by another small dip that transitions into a turn. 3. HellCat - Doesn't last long but sitting in the back row literally takes your breath away. It's not the first drop, in fact it's towards the end of the ride but Cyclops' famous airtime drop at Mt. Olympus is crazy!

I wasn't sure how to title this topic and I did a search so hopefully this hasn't been asked already but what are some of the coolest sounding rides you have been on? For me it's Whizzer which sounds like a locomotive at a couple points during the ride and The Incredible Hulk which gives off a rather unique roar from other B&M coasters. Listen at the 0:36 mark and it sounds like a train on a railroad track. What are some of your favorite coasters or other attractions that make interesting and unique sounds?

As someone who has been an Xbox fan since day 1 dating back 12 years ago, I'll say that Sony absolutely destroyed Microsoft at E3 yesterday. I've also been a PlayStation fan over the years but not nearly as much as an Xbox fan. With that said, I'm switching back to Sony. Xbox One's used game policy is just stupid. After Sony announced that the PS4 will allow used games without any additional fees, that sold me over. On top of that, the price tag of $399 compared to the One's $499 was a knockout punch to the Xbox. When you break down the specs and overall components within each console, the PS4 is actually slightly better and yet it's $100 cheaper. The PS4 exclusives also appeal to me more than the One's, but everyone has different taste.

Already Visited Six Flags St. Louis - My first time there. Six Flags Great America Going to Visit Six Flags Great America - I go a couple times a month depending on gas money. Mt. Olympus - I have to try out Hades 360 sometime this month. I wish I could visit more places this year but gas money is a killer for me.
