  1. Little Amerricka. Worst park experience ever. I understand a small owned park full of older classic rides, but the place was a dump when I went.
  2. ^I agree that it has the potential to be the best addition to SFGAm ever, especially if it's anything like Outlaw Run or even better. I hope it isn't Goliath either but something that's original. Goliath is becoming overused for too many different types of coasters in the SF chain.
  3. SFGAm tweeted this photo on Friday saying it's a preview of next week's teaser. It shows 180 beside the "ADMIN_CAM".
  4. I am very confused. I think what they were saying is that County Fair features rides like X-Flight and American Eagle and they have the Scenic Railway for the younger ones. They don't mean X-Flight and American Eagle are for the younger ones, they mean the Scenic Railway is for the younger ones.
  5. I am very confused. The quote about them building a wooden coaster came from the mayor of Gurnee which was then posted on the Daily Herald. I highly doubt the mayor would be in on a prank since it was reported by the Daily Herald which extends out from just the coaster world of forums and into the whole general public to see. Why would they get everyone's hopes up by falsely saying a wooden coaster (which will break records) and then build something that isn't that.
  6. If there are 3 possible record breakers for this ride, my guesses are... 1. World's fastest wooden coaster. 2. World's steepest drop on a wooden coaster. 3. Most inversions on a wooden coaster.
  7. I had hoped for an RMC more than anything but I figured with the space available, a Premier was more likely. I'm extremely happy about this! I wonder if they will remove the Wilderness Theater and possibly cut into part of Picnic Grove for this ride. What if they remove Camp Cartoon and build a new kids section (or relocate the rides) to where the Southwest Amphitheater is now and create a western themed kids area with maybe Yosemite Sam and stuff. Just a thought.
  8. Well, at least you would still break one record. We should know what the ride is this Wednesday.
  9. Tallest inversion is Gatekeeper's first drop which is a 164 ft. dive drop. Full Throttle has the largest loop in the world at 160 ft. If the loop is 165 ft on SFGAm's new coaster, it will break the tallest vertical loop and tallest inversion records.
  10. I've ridden Hades every year since (except its first 2 seasons) and it's my 2nd favorite wooden coaster. It's by far the roughest coaster I've been on but I love every part of it (except the ending turn around). However, I have yet to ride it this year. I'm a little nervous to go on it even though it's been one of my favorites for so long.
  11. Unless there is major downtime with the launch (if it's a Premier) then I can see it being delayed. But Great America is probably the best park in the chain with opening rides opening weekend or in the first week of park opening. They are the best by far. They bring on the best crews when constructing rides and almost always finish in time. Unless there is a problem with the ride itself after they build it, I don't see this being delayed.
  12. I would love an RMC woodie more than anything and it would fit well with the atmosphere with the trees back there on that side of County Fair next to Yukon. I'm thinking a Premier launching coaster is more likely but we can hope for an RMC.
  13. Sorry to double post but we have some big news. The roller coaster will be 165 ft tall and will be located in former spot of Iron Wolf in County Fair. More details are on the Village of Gurnee's official website for the board meeting scheduled for this coming Wednesday. Click here.
  14. Demon at SFGAm when I was 4. It was the ride that got me hooked on roller coasters.
  15. I'm not buying into the photo either. I'm not saying that RMC couldn't be involved with Eagle in the future, but that photo could be anyone wearing an RMC hoodie. Six Flags could have done that and anonymously sent it in to ScreamScape for all we know. SFGAm stated yesterday on their Twitter page that they enjoy reading our posts on websites like SFGAm World so clearly they get a kick out of the teasers so they might even set stuff up to get us talking on coaster websites. Here's a sneak peak at next week's "Follow the Journey 2014" teaser video from SFGAm's Twitter page this morning.
  16. I need to get myself one of those Rocky Mountain hoodies so I can go around to different wooden coasters around the country and have fun on some forums.
  17. Looks who was spotted at the park today... Photos are from ScreamScape.
  18. Maybe the Full Throttle part indicates that it will be a launching coaster of some sort but will be record setting in another area. Maybe they just put that there to throw us off completely. I don't really know. Just a guess.
  19. Next teaser is up! Hank Salemi (park president) is drinking a "Full Throttle" energy drink and the folders say Guinness World Record. Could we breaking the largest loop that Full Throttle set this year? EDIT: I guess you can't put "F ull Throttle" on here without it correcting it to "YOLOcoaster". Funny...
  20. The photo was taken by Michael Pompa (B&MGuy35) who was at the park today was posting photos while he was at the park.
  21. You brought up an interesting point. They could just redo the blue side this off season which is why it looks like it's closing early and then redo the red side starting next year which would open in 2015. They could also pair this up with a flat ride of some kind (a SkyScreamer for example) if they're doing just one side.
  22. I guess they never said that it will be the blue side running backwards this year. Looks like the red side will be running backwards while the blue side gets a makeover.
  23. ^^I'm not sure why that posted twice. Anyways, the 3rd teaser will be released sometime tomorrow but we probably won't gather much from it considering SFGAm just likes to tease and trick us.
  24. I think that was a mix of public outcry and if I remember correctly, Shockwave had a bit of a "blow out" so they removed Shockwave instead of Whizzer last minute. Shockwave had a lot of problems throughout its lifetime.
