  1. Disregard that. I was viewing it on my phone and it appeared to be a tarp of some sort. Now I can see it's a completely different layer on top so that was my bad.
  2. ^The first drop will look gigantic (because it is) on the webcam when it's finished. Also, here's the latest Goliath Insider video: Edit: I was confused by the angle it was bolted. I like the color of the track.
  3. The structure for the overbank turn and the twist & shout already looks pretty high, and it should nearly double in size when it's finished. I believe the part we see now will be about the height of the twist & shout. The overbank turn will be much higher.
  4. Hank Salemi sounded like he really wants an interactive dark ride at the park. I would be fine with that. Not only does it appeal to the family, but it adds a brand new element to SFGAm.
  5. No problem, good questions! Yes, that's the Sunday of opening weekend. The first few weekends of the season usually has slower crews and a lot of rides are running one less train. For example, Bull will likely be running 2 trains, Superman UF will likely have 1 train, and so on. Goliath is scheduled to open on May 24th. Damn, that's really disappointing. I guess I'll have to pick and choose which rides I want. In past seasons, opening days are sometimes busier than most parks when they open in the spring but still not too bad. The biggest issue is that most rides aren't running at full capacity. However, there are usually a lot of people at the season pass processing center throughout the day which sometimes takes a little out of the crowd. The bad news is that there's no longer season pass activating this season since everything is done as you enter the park with the new biometric system. Not sure if that'll have an impact or not.

  7. More bents for the overbank turn and twist & shout structure are going up now.
  8. ^They've had physics days before the park is even open. Physics day this year is scheduled for May 1st which is 2 days before the park opens to the public. I can't wait for media day which is May 22nd! Here's a summarized recap of No Coaster Con yesterday.
  9. Yeah, Duane Marden has one. He probably just got permission from the park and took his own shots then.
  10. Possibly from a camera drone. I know the park owns a quadcopter one.
  11. Looking at that 2nd photo really shows how narrow this space is, especially once the first drop and zero-G stall bents go up. I still can't believe people complained that the ride should be longer when it was announced because "there was enough room for the ride to wrap around again" or "they could have made it longer". They are literally using every bit of space they have width wise. It's going to be a great coaster! As far as the colors go, it does appear to be a dark orange color. I like it.
  12. Are they transferring the bents from that one wooden platform where they assembled them over the to side so they can remove that wooden platform and start building the right side of the overbanked turn there?
  13. I think they forgot to bring the big crane today...
  14. They have a crane in motion over towards the other end of the ride. I wonder if they're working on the second half of the floater hill or something. EDIT: It was actually a concrete pumper, not a crane.
  15. Footers are being placed at the bottom of the tunnel.
  16. ??? During the pullout? Yes, at the bottom when you start going into the right turn.
  17. There's more pre-cast footers sitting next to the tunnel. I'm wondering if these are for the inside of the tunnel for the bottom of the first drop and the bottom of the zero-G stall.
  18. My bad. I didn't even notice that last post on the previous page.
  19. ^Just about all of the drops it seems and the bottom of the first drop and the bottom of the zero-G stall go underground. Speaking of underground, it appears they are working on the tunnel once again and assembling bents so ignore my previous post.
  20. Looks like they are just about done with the tunnel, at least for now. They are putting their focus back to assembling bents. They already have quite a few stacked up so I think we'll see some bents raised into place by the end of this week. They haven't put any up since before Christmas.
  21. Dear Title Fairy, Can I have the title, "Alan Schilke is my mancrush every Monday". I know I'm not the only one out there. That hair is awesome.
  22. I guess not knowing if I'll be able to ride will be extra motivation to lose some weight the next few months. Thank you for your response! I stayed at a Drury Inn outside of SFSTl last spring and I thought it was excellent.
  23. Six Flags has rolled out some new designs for their park websites and you can view them by clicking on "Choose Your Park". The only park that doesn't show the new design when you click on it is SFGAm. However, if you click here, you can view the new design.
