  1. From Rockford, IL and SFGAm is my home park.
  2. Favorite steel is Maverick because the first drop is short but insanely awesome. The ride just whips you around turns and tight elements. The launch is great too! Favorite wood is The Beast. It's just a classic and I love the smell of the grease while going up the lift. The ride shakes you but that's what makes it fun. The helixes at the end make a spectacular finale.
  3. I think they did that because of the Michigan Wolverines football team and the Michigan Wildcats baseball team but I wish it was just called "Wolverine" or something. Flight Deck is a really dumb name.
  4. I-90 actually runs north to south beside where I live so it won't take me anywhere near the park. I take 173 almost all the way east from my house which is a good 70 miles or so, plus they're doing construction on 173 to add another lane to the road which has been a mess the last few years. It's almost as bad as I-90's construction.
  5. I signed up in case I'm able to go but I wished they would give you the instructions sooner than Wednesday night. It also depends on gas money if I'll make the trip or not. If the rides were open I would definitely go but I just don't have $40 in gas money to spend making a trip to Gurnee for an announcement that someone will probably have a live stream of or tweets.
  6. I haven't been following the park closely but I saw this on their Twitter... And then they put this photo with it...
  7. From SFGAm's Twitter: So, is anyone going to this on Thursday?
  8. I think this coaster is going to be receiving a new station that's a bit narrower but longer. They only showed Wolf's station, queue, and footers on the map as a reference I believe. It does show a blue box that's thinner and longer on top of Wolf's former station so I think that's showing there's going to be a new one in the same spot.
  9. I personally think this woodie would be great at the park. Since Rattler got Iron Horsed, they no longer have a wooden coaster. This looks pretty fun and shouldn't cost a whole lot.
  10. Yes! Very good name. How about Big Foot? I think Sasquatch sounds more Canadian... Which would fit perfectly if the ride's entrance was in Yukon Territory since Yukon is Canadian.
  11. Six Flags and Jack Link's Jerky presents, "Riding with Sasquatch".
  12. I'm guessing a Mack Twist N' Splash based on that photo.
  13. This was posted on SFGAm's homepage but was taken down quickly. The photo is from sfgamdude14... The park tweeted this after... EDIT: The photos should be fixed now.
  14. Park president Hank Salemi did say tonight at the meeting that the ride will use polyurethane wheels.
  15. I just checked, the last two have been between 2-3 PM.
  16. Later in the afternoon between 2 to 4 I think but I can't remember exactly.
  17. 4 years old when I rode Demon at SFGAm.
  18. With this addition, that makes the wooden coaster count at the park 4 (or 5 if you count AE as 2 coasters). This isn't just a high number of any wooden coasters but very good wooden coasters. I mean, Little Dipper isn't more than a kids coaster but it is a piece of Chicagoland history. Viper is one of the best cyclone styled wooden coasters if not the best. American Eagle is my favorite coaster in the park though it could use some paint, retracked helixes, and an updated station. All of the wooden coasters at the park are great so I'm thrilled to have one that has the potential to not only be the best at the park but one of the best in the world.
  19. Worst B&M- Iron Wolf Worst Intamin- I haven't really been on a bad Intamin but I found Wicked Twister sort of underwhelming. Worst GCI- I've only been on one GCI, American Thunder, but I thought it was really fun. Nothing bad about it.
  20. It's looking like it will be called Goliath. It also fits in with the clues of the texts before each video smashing into the rock, the employee who keeps getting into trouble each video is named "David", and the beginning of the 3rd teaser they showed GIANT Drop. I was hoping it would be an original name but oh well. As long as the coaster is crazy awesome, that's all that matters.
  21. 7:30 PM and here's the stream link- http://m.ustream.tv/channel/sfgamzone
  22. Giant Drop at SFGAm... every time.
  23. I see there is a topic like this for Cedar Point but I know we have a lot of SFGAm fans here as well. What is your favorite coaster(s) at the park? For me it's... 1. American Eagle - I prefer the red side. I love the classic feel it provides and it's such an iconic coaster at the park. 2. X-Flight - It's smooth, fun, and one of the few coasters with inversions that doesn't get me sick. 3. Viper - Very underrated little airtime machine. 4. Raging Bull - Most of the ride it's rather dull but the end packs some nice g's and the first drop in the back row is a lot of fun. 5. V2 - Decent launch and love being pulled up the back spike.
  24. 1. Maverick 2. Millennium Force 3. Top Thrill Dragster 4. Magnum XL 200 5. Blue Streak
  25. Top Thrill Dragster. I absolutely love it!
