Wow is this the first SF park to use a live web cam or a web in in general to cover a construction project??? I know it's the first one I can recall, I know CF usually has webcams for their projects I hope more SF parks start using webcam coverage. SFGAm used a webcam for X-Flight's construction as well as Riptide Bay the year before that.

The park said that they are planning for the ride to start going vertical sometime in November. The construction site clearing/flattening looks almost complete now so we should see them begin digging for footers and the tunnel section in a few weeks. Probably closer to the end of October or early November.

Best first drop on a steel coaster?
GoBears replied to CPmillenia94's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Maverick is my favorite but Diamondback and Raging Bull are in 2nd. -
Saying you have 4 by counting both sides of Eagle is pretty dumb, IMO. Ask the majority of the guests walking through the gate and they'll count Eagle as 1. SFGam will have three woodies. Suck it up and deal with it. --Robb "Nothing wrong with saying you have three woodies in one park!" Alvey SFGAm will have 4 after Goliath opens if you count Eagle as 1 coaster. However, while I consider Eagle as one coaster when it comes to credit, the two sides are actually different in the second half so I would count two separate lengths. If you count Eagle and Racer's two sides as two separate lengths, SFGAm will have 16,558 feet of wooden coaster track and KI has 15,539. If you count Eagle and Racer as just one side, Kings Island has 12,124 feet of wooden track and SFGAm has 11,908 feet of wooden track after Goliath opens. I don't think I've ever been so excited for a coaster to open like I am for Goliath. Mostly because it's at my home park and I've been wanting to ride an RMC since NTG opened but haven't had the money to go anywhere. The Beast is currently my favorite wooden coaster so I'll have to wait and see if this passes it up for the number 1 spot.

Best Additions for 2014
GoBears replied to GoBears's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I forgot to include Medusa Steel Coaster or whatever they're calling it. I prefer the name Iron Medusa. As far as flats go, Zumanjaro and Falcon's Fury both look crazy! -
Now that Six Flags has made their announcements, Cedar Fair has made some of theirs, and other parks around the world have as well, what do you think will be the best additions for next year? This is all based on your opinions right now and they may change after you experience the rides once they open next year. In my opinion, the best additions are: 1. Goliath at SFGAm 2. Banshee at Kings Island 3. "To Be Named" Wing Rider at Heide Park

Correct. There's the Big Easy Balloons, Jester's Wild Ride, and King Chaos. They also have the Roaring Rapids but that isn't themed to Mardi Gras. -
I should've clarified my post better. SFGAm has had many game changers over the decades and hopefully this one will be the best yet! ^^I've never experience more than an hour wait for X-Flight. Even its first year last year, coasters like Bull, Superman, and BTR still had longer lines than it. I'm not complaining though!

I didn't mean when it first opened. I'm talking about the park and coasters right now in 2013. American Eagle and Shockwave both broke many records and were huge (though not as big of a deal as Batman) when they first opened too. I guess what I'm trying to say is that the park no longer has that one standout coaster that ranks among the best in the world but they still have one of the most solid coaster lineups of any park. This addition should really make the park standout. When people think of coaster parks, they immediately think of SFMM or CP. I would say that after this record breaking addition, SFGAm will be a 1st tier coaster park, if it isn't already.

I visit SFGAm about 10 times a season and mostly during the summer months but I've never experienced 4 hour waits on any coaster in the park. The only time I remember being a line that long is when Superman first opened but that's about it. You are right though, due to the lack of big attractions in the Chicagoland area, SFGAm is definitely one of the busiest non-Disney/Universal parks in the country. Most of lines are out of the ride's entrances but I usually don't wait more than an hour or 90 minutes. I've just gone on lucky days I guess. SFGAm has also never had another star attraction since Raging Bull. Sure they have Eagle (my favorite coaster in the park BTW), X-Flight, the original BTR, and SUF but I wouldn't consider those roller coasters where people would travel across the country or even the world to ride. The park doesn't have one coaster in the top 55 anymore, but that's sort of misleading because SFGAm does have as a whole one of the best coaster collections in the world. I'm just saying that if this coaster is as awesome as we're thinking it is (especially if it's like Outlaw Run or better), we might be looking at one of the best woodies or coasters of any kind in the world which is quite exciting!

Yeah. SFGAm receives too much attendance for 2 poor capacity coasters. I like this move. -

SFGAm only has (or had after Cajun leaves) 1 spinning wild mouse. The other wild mouse is TDK Coaster but that doesn't spin. -
Every time I read your posts, I always say them in Christopher Walken's voice. Anyways, I think it's a smart move to relocate RC to SFA. Ragin' Cajun didn't do too well with SFGAm's crowds but should do just fine with SFA. The spot will likely be replaced with a SkyScreamer for 2015 unless SFGAm shocks us with something else.
