  1. My wife and I joined up for the first time! Looking forward to the benefits and to be more involved.
  2. School trips are popular around then, but it’s hit and miss from one day to the next.
  3. I've booked my Disneyland vacation for that week! Historically the quietest time to visit, but yes, will still be busy.
  4. Unfortunately, there are no walking distance hotels around Wonderland. The closest are the ones mentioned South of the Mall. I would recommend the group of hotels a little more South that includes a Hilton, Homewood Suites and a Marriott. I would not recommend staying anywhere South of the 401 HWY in that particular area.
  5. I frequently receive Six Flags surveys. The last one regarding Darien Lake, showed numerous pictures and asked my various opinions of Dive coasters.
  6. So I'm curious as to what exactly is the reasoning behind this? I'd have thought it'd be the opposite way around. I wore my sun glasses (with Cedar Point strap) on every coaster including TC and the Joker family coaster. The Flash Pass line attendant on Joker did mention to remove my glasses, but I honestly thought they were joking and the ride attendants didn't say anything. Strange policy.
  7. Aside from Wooden and Thunderbolt (not top coasters IMO, but special to you, so I get it), your list is great! Matterhorn is my fav Disney coaster. Have you been on Phoenix (Playland Coaster like) or Intimidator 305 (Maverick on roids)? I still love Coaster Grotto's top 20 feature. It includes all coaster logos to stare at as you reminisce about your favorites. My top 20. http://www.coastergrotto.com/top_20.jsp
  8. Whoa whoa whoa was this @ opening? I'll be there this weekend and have full intentions of buying one right @ opening, especially if its a 90 minute wait! At opening the line looked like 20 min. I went straight to TC and it opened 5 minutes early. I tried to see how lines were going to be for the day and decided it was a FP day around 2 hours after opening, but the line was huge by then.
  9. Agree, pleasant surprise. My daughter loved the copious floater air. Wish I could have splurged for FP, but with 2 of us it was out of budget. But in hind site even the $45 version would have been worth it for shade. It funny how I have been on almost every other Hyper and my favourite ends up being one of the earliest creations! It was a Schorcher! Considering how unreliable the FP is at this park (incorrect times, no checking or clearing unit), the $45 regular version probably would have been sufficient.
  10. Visited for the first time yesterday on a very busy and hot Sunday. SFOG is one of the last major parks I have not visted. We had to splurge for Gold FP, but had an overall great time. Twisted Cyclone was a hit. Lots of extreme elements jammed into a tight circuit. Only because of its length, I would rank it around the bottom as far as RMC's go, but aside from Steel Vengeance, a lot of these I-box creations are becoming a confusing mess in my mind. The surprise of the trip was Goliath. I heard good things, but it looks like a not very steep, lower height, boring hyper. This ride delivered multiple huge floater air in the back seat and some ejector near the end. It became my top Hyper beating Mako, Diamond Back, and Behemoth. The Joker family coaster was really good. The Monster Mansion boat ride was unique and enjoyable. The double loop Mind Bender was an easily recognized classic. We had problems with the Flash Pass. 1h30 min wait in an unprotected line just to buy. Got to be a better way, at least with shade. One person in line actually fainted! The watch is not as efficient as the "Tamagotchi like" unit at other parks. It works, but can be cumbersome and frustrating to select a ride. Most of the selections didn't change time during the day and didn't reflect the true lineups, which turned out good and bad (7 min for a packed, 1 train Blue Hawk and 45 min for a station wait Georgia Schorcher) On numerous coasters, we didn't even get scanned, allowing us to re-ride if we wanted. We got on everything, including multiples of Goliath and TC, so $60 well spent.
  11. “Tronbutt” LOL. You look like such fantastic tour guides. Ensuring everyone gets on closed rides, experiences unique foods and Japan’s culture. Fantastic trip so far. I hope to go someday.
  12. My top coasters were El Toro and Skyrush, so it’s no surprise SV became my favourite. Back seat at night was incredible. What I love about Cedar Point is the world class variety you mentioned. MF is a fantastic ride, that I also love, but very different than “balls to the wall” SV.
  13. A wonderful weekend at Cedar Point! While Saturday had storms, if you found yourself at the right place at the right time, most rides were walk ons. SV ran almost all day with about 1hr wait (that’s how dead it was). The Coaster Campout people had a great ERT session on SV from 10:30pm to 12am. Sunday was overcast, but lightly attended. Managable wihout Fast Lane as only Dragster, Valravn and Maverick had 45 minute waits. SV peaked around 3hrs. I can confirm CP app is not accurate, mostly due to lagging behind. I managed 4 rides on SV. 2 in the back seat, 2 day, 2 night. I struggled all weekend where to rank it in my favs, but after Sunday’s back seat night ride, I can say it’s my favourite coaster, narrowly beating El Toro. While I think El Toro’s first drop and hills are only slightly better, SV just goes on and on preforming incredible elements with so much airtime. The hype is real and that’s so awesome to be true. We rode “Digger” on Sat and “Chess” on Sun, so it shouldn’t be long before 2 trains return.
  14. I second the White Water walk. Take a taxi/uber and do it. It's so powerful and impressive to walk right beside the raging river. If there is time, Niagara on the Lake is another must do (stroll the shops and get ice cream).
  15. My family are staying at Lighthouse Point too this weekend! Sat looks like storms, but Sunday looks OK. Should be lighter crowds for a weekend. See ya there!
  16. No. It looks like the Valravyn photo had software issues and the computer substituted "Adventure" instead. Or someone forgot to upload it. A bunch of shirts must have got printed before the mistake was realized!
  17. Awesome! The exact route I already planned to suggest! The drive through Ontario is full of trees, lakes, rock and so much better than the boring drive though Michigan. There will be very little traffic that way (not our long weekend), including the border. Umm, ya, just fuel up your vehicle before crossing, only bummer here $$$. Wonderland will be very manageable that Sunday and especially Monday. It's a great park and neat to compare with KI. On Monday, don't leave any later than 2pm or you will hit all the traffic flowing from Toronto to Niagara. Do you plan on visiting any of the Falls? You could spend Monday evening there and then drive the remaining 2.5h to Erie. Even if you only want to do a drive by, the Niagara Parkway is very scenic.
  18. The structure is 450'. Similar situation with the models in Texas (400') and NE (410') which both swing riders around at approximately 350'. It looks like this ride will swing riders very close to 400' and should be amazing.
  19. Would love to help, but you need to clarify your plans better. What is the exact route your taking and the parks you wish to visit? I have made many trips all around the Great Lakes and believe I could offer great advice on routes, parks, scenic areas and more! If you can avoid Memorial Weekend and visit weekdays, then your trip is going to be much better.
  20. This individuals less than desirable lifestyle or past has nothing to do with the current legal situation. This is the media digging up the worst they can find. If Verrukt was a success, we would never know a thing. I ponder what effect this will have on the whole Schlitterbahn orginization. The New Braunfels location is my favorite water park and I've had so much fun there.
  21. Yes. The first time I felt it to perfection was on Lightning Rod. This looks like an even better curve.
  22. I would assume this trip is also about yourself and not just the kids? (Steel Vengence?) I'm sure you all will have fun, but I personally wouldn't invest in that kind of trip with the kids being so young and not able to ride any of the Points' famous coasters. Have you been to Seabreeze, Fantasy Island and Waldameer? Easy days trips that are suitable for kids. June will be busy, but probably not so much on kiddie rides. Almost all the coasters on ERT will have minumum height restrictions. Not trying to be a downer, but just a glaring fact I see.
  23. Not this year. Our Holiday will be Monday and July 4th will be the following Wednesday. How will that work this year? Will you get the Friday off instead? Any weekend is busy at Wonderland, but it is better to visit on your holidays that don’t correspond with ours.
  24. There is much to do on the Cdn side of the Falls, you could easily spend a full day. Check out the Niagara Parks pass, which includes transportation and admission to the Whirpool Gondola, Rapids walk, Journey behind the falls, Butteryfly Exibit and more. I would recommend The Keg Fallsview for dinner. All Falls restaurants are overpriced, but the food is at least good there. I've done the reverse Kings Island trip! Wonderland is very similar, so you probably don't need park advice. You'll deal with heavy traffic Friday evening, or Thursday if Friday is the holiday. Try to go on an American holiday like Memorial Day or July 4th.
  25. Valravn had the same result as any new coaster does to the general public, a significant increase. It was a been there done that coaster for a lot of us enthusiasts or travelers. Unlike SV, it didn't get me to make another 5hr trip to the Point. Although RMC is starting to become commonplace, this coaster is different. Every time I watch the POV, I can't believe the length, airtime and constant pace. If the real thing is the same and the hype becomes more than talk, the crowds will be insane. You and I are lucky, we are visiting in May
