I saw her this year for the season opening.. rainy day! For the parade she basically jsut made an appearance for the news and then ducted out of it at the first turn.. a lot of people didn't even know she was in it.. the parade also started early that day to beat the rain and like I said, she didn't finish it.. not a big deal for me. crowds were very lite but people were trying to find her everywhere.. I believe that day she only opened LR (it wasn't really an opening as we all know) and then did the parade and nothing else. She has her little dolly car she rides around in and that's what she was in when u saw her. I was actually trying to leave the park when I saw her.. They had everything blocked off for the parade and I couldn't get out ha-ha. Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk -

Well Christmas is one of the busiest times of the year for Dollywood so I am sure they want it up and running! I remember last year, they broke one of their attendance records during the Christmas festival (that record was broke again early this season) but I'm sure there is the possibility of breaking it yet again if LR is open and running plus all the new Christmas activities Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk -

Dollywoodmech did say their hopes were to get it open by the time the park opens back up this week.. he also said don't be surprised if it didn't open though. Maybe a good sign Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk -

I had luck giving one to a friend who had a pass in the past and it worked fine.. they did check for a season pass holder to be present though.. It was so my Stepmom could go with her sister (the sister was the pass holder but didn't renew in time to get a ticket) This was a few years ago so no idea if they are linked now or not.. I usually don't get to use them but always try to get them, just to have them. One year, my old roommate even helped pay for my season pass so he could have the friend ticket because it saved him money! It was his idea, not mine but I know your not supposed to sale it Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk -

Cool thanks, yeah I saw it on desktop shortly after I posted this but never came back to update.. it wasn't on the mobile site earlier today but looks like it is now. Pretty good deal if you plan on bringing friends! I still wish they would include a summer day! Six Flags Usually has a summer bring a friend day Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk -

Anyone else get the email titled "renew now and get 3 bring a friend tickets" In the email it just says renew now and bring a friend this Christmas.. click here for more details When I click it just goes to the ticket order page and says the same thing.. NOTHING about 3 tickets.. If love to renew now and get 3 tickets per pass to bring a friend if the 3 part is true! Any idea, anyone try it yet? I called Dollywood and the wait time was long Nothing except the title of the email mentions 3 bring a friend tickets. I'm afraid the three part might be a typo lol Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk -
DDD is on the list, but no mention if it'll have holiday VR.. no idea why it wouldn't unless they remove VR all together.. they had Halloween VR The standard VR for it isn't festive at all so I feel it will kill the festive mood of the park if they leave it on there but who knows Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk

The jolt was there before July but I don't think it's as bad as everyone makes it out to be.. some seats you can feel it much worse.. I mean it's just that, it feels like your car is hitting a small pothole not like a huge rattle.. the way some people talk about it on here makes you think it feels like the ride is falling apart ha-ha It has also been said it doesn't feel as bad on one of the trains but I have always felt it.. most times when visiting though, only one train has been running Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk -

Thanks for the info from both IOE and dollywoodmech. I know Dollywoodmech isn't verifiable but I also believe him and I understand non disclosure agreements.. Both post had a lot of great info.. Man though, on another point, I bet Dollywood wishes they were open this week! Beautiful week here on the area and the Mountains are still super packed! I was up there this afternoon, after my trip to Zoo Knoxville today.. I would have loved to been at Dollywood but it's always nice to get out and see nature as well Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk -

It really depends on the weather.. From what I head, it was actually fairly crowded last year on Thanksgiving day but we also had pretty fair weather on Thanksgiving as well.. That weekend, you have to remember, is a big travel weekend.. so it all really depends Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk -

Hmm, I had 5 passes last year, so there was a discount for 4+ ($5 off each same this year) $90 for park pass ($95 for 1-3) $137 for super pass ($142) $182 for super gold pass ($187) That was in early Nov using the renewal link the sent via email. Gold pass was $42 extra over the regular pass, which would been $142 (or $147) DW pass to Super Pass was $47 more. It was the first time I did payments, but there was a $2 per pass setup fee. Are you saying some other fee for paying online v/s in person at the booth or over the phone? I read it wrong, it's only for the payment plan but eitherway it still went up.. last year's payment plan fee was only $2 lol Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk -

Coasters don't go down for two weeks for "computer issues" especially with no signs of life - that's almost certainly a sign of larger problems (hardware, train, structure, etc.) Not if they have to reprogram software.. That could take a lot of time.. Also, sensors and all of that could take time to repair and are all related to computer issues but could also be considered hardware issues.. Looks like the price increased again at least on gold? Gold pass $152 (last year it cost me $144) Looks like regular pass stayed the same.. $99 and I paid $99 for it last season Also a online payment fee of $4 now maybe they started that last year, I can't remember though Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk -
Yeah, but like we said earlier, hopefully they are repairing it or getting it ready for nxt year since it is now "naked" for a lack of better words.. because the current trains are having issues! BUt when I was there a few weeks ago both of the running trains were fine and all rows operational u like a lot of past post saying half the rows are blocked off.. As for the second station, I have never seen a train just setting in it but I do know it still works.. Earlier this season they actually used it to unload my train because the other train was having issues in the main station The only closure it had when I was there (it actually had two closures) but both were caused by someone puking on the break run. Looking at that photo, I don't believe so.. but it very well could be.. I am thinking it's right before that spot though.. when everything is going quickly, it's hard to tell where it happens ha-ha but yes it is right before that area I believe Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk -

The jolt has been there pretty much all season, it just depends on the seat your in if you feel it or not and how intense it is Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk -

no way, that's awesome, could you even imagine what could come in the future? a hyper coaster, massive dark ride, intamin, maybe a water coaster? i have a good feeling about 2018! Yup, back when they announced the 300mil expansion they said depending how things went, and knowing things can change over 10 years, that it wasn't a hard 300mil and more could be added. Gotta also remember, the new shows and festivals are also part of this budget.. the new parade this Christmas is 4mil I believe I saw? I'm sure next season's pumpkin lights won't be cheap either Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk -

Yup, I edited my response so that it didn't really apply to LR.. I was just letting the OP know how one seatbelt might keep a train from moving on a coaster Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk -

Yes and in my opinion, this is what is causing all the issues.. a ride as advanced as LR has thousands of sensors I bet.. I personally don't believe the launch is acting up, I don't believe there are major issues with LR.. I am on the side of the fence that believes LR is having software and sensor issues.. even (I believe it was Pete from the park, I could be wrong, it might have been their head maintenance guy) said in an early interview that they are having some sensor issues.. this was earlier in the season but I personally believe they still have them.. Again, I have heard nothing official Like any of us here, this are just my thoughts on LR Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk -

I have a friend that just returned within the last couple of weeks. He said it was down most of the day when he was there. When it opened back up and was able to ride, he took a seat as a single rider. One of the ride ops sat down next to him. He asked why she was riding and she indicated they have to ride every couple of hours to make sure everything "feels right." She also told him the seat belt on the row in front of them wouldn't fasten and they have been having issues with it all day. This sounds odd to me as I don't understand how a row of seat belts not working in one train would cause massive shut downs unless it is an issue they have had with all of the seats at one time or another. This may be totally unrelated but thought I would share. Not saying she was right or wrong but here is how a seatbelt can cause a train not to move.. The seatbelt issue, if true, could keep the the software that operates the train from allowing it to go at all.. even if it's just one seat, the seatbelt sensor (if there is one) is probably telling the train it can't leave the station, thus why the entire train is down.. if they give ride ops overrides, then there could be serious liability issues I'd imagine.. but, again, it's hard to believe anything you hear even if the park tells you.. I believe LR seatbelts use a Tatical style buckle though (same buckle my tatical click belt has) so probably doesn't have a sensor. And honestly I really don't see how that buckle could cause issues unless someone didn't know how to work it lol And that is pretty standard for ride ops to ride every few hours to check out the ride.. some parks even close the rides every few hours for the "safety inspection" and that's when an op rides to see if everything feels ok.. I wouldn't look to much into that, sound standard to me Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk -

Yes, it has been up and down all summer, even after the official opening.. I visit a lot, sometimes multiple times a week.. downtime during the week, during my visits has been over 50%.. downtime on weekend has been much less and it is open about 90% of the time.. a little over a week ago it went down and hasn't came back up.. no idea what the issues are just the rumors about sensors, trains, ect but it is down and closed Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
