  1. ^ I don't know either, this is the first Larson Looper that I have seen up close. I was hoping someone could tell me because I was wondering the same thing. They look to have something to do with propelling (and braking) of the train but I could not tell what they were. My initial guess was that they were 'electro-magnets' that helped the train move and stop but I have no idea. Hard to tell too because I checked the Larson website and it did not have enough detail of how the ride operates. http://larsonintl.com/the-22m-giant-loop/ Does anyone else know?
  2. Went to VF today to process the season pass and saw that the north end parking lot is about 1/3 flooded. That is JUST the north end parking lot (not the main lot), the one to the right of the the main turn in road is the flooded one. They have it coned off but it doesn't look too bad, definitely not as bad as three years ago. I could not see the back of the park of course so I have no idea about what that looks like. Delirious looks good right up front as you drive up to the park entrance. The Route 76 area in the last 5 years has dramatically changed for the better. On the way out I just took a couple of shots of the new Delirious to share. The new Delirious in all its purple glory. Get ready to LOOP-DEE-LOOP! Here can see how close the queue line for Delirious is to the Steel Venom one. Those new trees need some leaves but that takes sun. Just a little wider angle of Delirious and SV.
  3. Thanks for the great coverage, you managed to get me even more excited for my CP visit this year. Did they have any of Toft's 'Brownie Bandit' ice cream for you to try (even though you didn't)? Or did they just have a mock up container for it? Really enjoyed the flavor they had for Valravn.
  4. Steel Vengeance review from Robb: Positives: Pretty much everything! Negatives: Loud lift hill. Sounds good, I can live with that. And nobody gives a crap about those Canadians anyway.
  5. So sexy with all that airtime and 'twistyness' on the second half. Now even more excited to give it a ride this in June. Praying to the coaster gods for good weather during those days.
  6. It looks so smooth among all those twists and turns. Good stuff! Looks like RMC has yet another winner this year.
  7. Yeah, it wouldn't have anything to do with the below freezing temps we had for multiple days this week or the 15 inches of snow we just got the last two days to delay testing of the rides before preview day. For those who comment yet no know nothing of the current conditions at a park.
  8. ^ I second that. The speed on the second half is much more than I expected. Can’t wait now to give it a ride.
  9. Retracking? Looks more like a total rebuild of that section. Your right on it looking good, no complaints from me for trying to improve a ride's quality. Now I am looking forward to riding it in five weeks. With that much new wood do you think they will paint it? Or just leave it like the other section they did last year after the second hill going into the turnaround? A fresh coat of paint on all of High Roller would be welcome.

  11. ^ I hear you, but your asking a lot. This isn't CP. Seriously, you think CF could throw the smaller parks in the chain a bone and get them a few Coke FreeStyle machines since they have a chain wide contract with Coca-Cola.
  12. One of my earlier posts was about a $120,000 buildng permit for a Coke Refresh station at VF. Just checked again and now there is a building permit for plumbing valued at $16,000 where the project name is 76 COKE REFRESH so the Route 76 area is getting a Coke Refresh station it looks like. Can’t imagine one Coke Refresh station is $120,000 so I expect to see them placing a couple more of these around the park in area’s that have the plumbing infrastructure in place already. Should help with souvenir drink bottle sales. Building permit for Valleyfair.
  13. I like this preview event. Get the bugs worked out of Steel Vengeance before I arrive this year.
  14. If SuperCat is next to leave, then from the old RipTide spot all the way to the old Scrambler spot would just be games, one souvenir stand and food concessions. At that point it would not take much to remove all those things and bring them back in a redesigned and updated area along with two new flats to replace Riptide and SuperCat.
  15. Thanks for the update on Wonder Woman. Great shots of all that twisty goodness! It looks really fun due to that. And kudos for the Marvin the Martian photo op.
  16. Even the cars are purple. That snow should melt by opening day, but I’m not making any promises. Delirious car.
  17. Just checked the city construction permits for VF and they have a new one out there for, "Wood framed Coke Refresh station." It is valued at $120,000. They label it as a 'New Commercial Building' so it does not look like an update to existing smaller outposts. Hopefully it will have Free Style machines like other CF parks. Anyone have any information on where this might go in the park?
  18. I have to agree. Visited in 2010 and then again in 2016 and you could see how bad those seats in the head rest area had deteriorated over those years turning them black and making them look ugly. Thankfully the seats had nothing to do the airtime thrills it provides.
  19. Does anyone know if there is a way to tell this early if any of the May dates are set for a private event like the last two years with RE/MAX? I could not find anything on the site.
  20. Rock on with your bad selves! Congratulations on such a huge milestone and accomplishment. Quality rises to the top.

  22. Thanks for the Wonder Woman pictures! It looks better in real life than it does in the concept pictures. So much tight and 'twisty' track is making this look like a must ride. Looking good with some more hotness from RMC.
