  1. You got that right. Can't argue with any of this logic. If people want this credit I tell them to get to this ride first once the gates opens due the capacity issues. It is a good Mouse though. I am the other way around but agree overall. I like the twists and turns in Renegade more than the out and back Prowler but both are solid coasters. It might be park bias for both of us. The break is a nice element for such a one dimensional ride and adds to the fun. It makes it more fun than the one SFGAm. You mean, "The awesome tunnel of vinyl siding!" I don't think the negativity is directed at VF, it is more directed at CF and their smaller park investment since the Paramount takeover. I think almost everyone agrees that the waterpark is the #1 place that could use some love, it is the worst in the chain. Hence the proposal to drop Excalibur, create it's own parking lot for the waterpark and expand the place. And #2 is a modern Steel Looping coaster. For a visitor it is not as big of a deal as for the locals because we have been waiting 36 (going on 37) since the Corkscrew. Once those 2 area's get addressed it could be a good medium sized park. I like that the Star Flyer next year will be unique to VF for the chain, a solid addition. Thanks for the report, it is always fun to see it through visitor's eyes after visiting the park so many times myself.
  2. ^ I'll move on when I feel like it, but thanks for your concern.
  3. Never said I was offended by your your use of "PowerPoint Presentation", I just called you a jerk for using it against a 13 year old and I hope I did not offend you. The only thing you have ever posted that offended me was when you indicated Mean Streak was a good roller coaster.
  4. Light hearted? Maybe at first, but once you went reaching and dropping PowerPoint into the conversation with a 13 year old you jumped the shark and it just came off as being a jerk. I certainly hope a 13 year old doesn't yet know the middle management hell called a PowerPoint presentation but obviously you think so.
  5. I prefer the older ones because they allow more movement. On the new ones it is nice though to have the bars far from your head, it's just too bad they come with the pressure of the vests. The vests don't take away from the rides for me but they do make me wonder if they would be better with the old ones. Especially with Banshee.
  6. It does help fill the void for locals after they removed The Flume from VF and I am glad NU has this. Sponge Bob is still fun and I still like it but Monster is Sponge Bob on steroids and that much more fun due to that. Same manufacturer but not even in the same realm for comparison, Monster just blows SB away (as it should considering the cost and size). Looking forward to your VF TR next.
  7. The news is out. A 230 foot tall Star Flyer called North Star. Details: https://www.valleyfair.com/what-s-new/introducing-north-star-for-2017
  8. ^ Is Renegade also closed? Is WT closed due to water or something else?
  9. I wonder the same thing since I have never seen it in print anywhere from a reliable source for how long the Dino's contract is for at VF (or any CF park). The closest I have come is from Screamscape for Dorney park where they wrote, "As for the rumor of removing Dinosaurs Alive, I've been told that the contract to keep the Dino's was expected to run out at the end of this season.". Again, nothing in print straight from a source so take it for what it is worth. If this is true though, Dorney got the Dino's in 2012 and if they are done this year and that would put it at a 5 year contract. VF got the Dino's in 2013 so that would mean after next year they could be removed based on this information. I do hope this information is accurate because I have seen the contract stated to be anywhere from 5 to 10 years long and the shorter the better.
  10. ^ If you want Mexican food I would suggest Casa Fiesta, I have been there on my last 2 visits and very happy with the food. It is located on Perkins Avenue but only about 5-8 minutes from the park but worth the drive.
  11. And here is the link for the permit to convert the current Fudge Shop to the mechanical room to run the Star Flyer. https://epermits2.logis.org/permits/permitdetails.aspx?city=sh&permitnbr=SH084914
  12. Here is a link to an article in the local StarTribune paper about the removal of Enterprise. http://www.startribune.com/enterprise-will-spin-for-the-final-time-at-valleyfair/388922181/
  13. They are not leaving (they just put them in new 2 years ago). CaptianUnknown was just pointing out that when they announced the retirement/leaving of the Antique Auto's that the park said the same thing only to bring them back 2 years later. Hopefully this does happen with Enterprise or even better and the park gets the new version of Enterprise without the sides on the cars. Either way is fine by me IF it happens.
  14. So that is the announcement. Enterprise is leaving instead of getting a 'refurb'. They hint at 'New Heights' so now we can wonder what that means until we get the details in mid August. Sad to see one of my favorite flats as a kid leave but you have to make room for the new memories of the next generation. Let the speculation begin. Personally I was hoping for an announcement that involved moving the service road but since it did not there is again no coaster in sight. CF has such a good growth strategy for the smaller park in the chain....and that strategy is grow the bigger parks.
  15. ^ Agreed. Finally got to try in June this year and was pleasantly surprised how much I liked it.
  16. Finally. The piece of garbage will be gone!!! Even if they just got rid of MS and didn't replace it with anything that would be an improvement to the park. Chiropractors in Sandusky and the surrounding area's are all collectively crying knowing that their business will now suffer do to this decision.
  17. ^ Exactly. If the park is going to get a dark ride it will have a new building built for it. And that may mean demolishing an existing building, maybe not.
  18. The first one...besides Kentucky Rumbler, Thunderhead, and American Thunder. Ah, I don't really consider Kentucky or Tennessee Midwest. Most people probably wouldn't either. I guess you got me with Evil Knievil, so okay, 2nd GCI in the Midwest. I would not consider Tennessee of Kentucky Midwest either. Renegade was the second behind Evil Kneivil.
  19. Spot on. Not complaining though. GCI's, while not the best wooden coasters they still are a solid ride and fun. The ability to run three trains will be nice though.
  20. With them announcing it this early may mean they are going to have to shut something down or block off an area off to start some construction early otherwise why not wait until September like they usually do to make this announcement? I am now curious too as to what they have planned. We know it is not a coaster so it could be a flat ride, dark ride or water park expansion. Any rumors circulating among people who work at the park?
  21. You are correct, you are on the opposite side of at least my view of the park. The only thing I see as even close to 'incredible' over the last 10 years was Planet Snoopy and Renegade. And they HAD to do Planet Snoopy to complete with NU because they had a lot of the same rides there from the 70's when I was a kid. When comparing the last 10 years to the previous 10 years you can definitely see a drop off in investment after the Paramount take over. From 1996 to 2006 VF got 3 new coasters and 2 new big thrill rides. Ah, the good old days. 2007 - Renegade 2009 - Breaker’s Bay 2011 - Planet Snoopy 2013 - Dinosaurs Alive 2014 - Route 76, Northern Lights 2015 - Soak City Expansion - Slides 2016 - Flying Eagles 2017 - ? 1996 - Wild Thing opens; RipCord added to Challenge Park 1997 - Chaos opens 1998 - Galaxy Theater opens 1999 - Mad Mouse opens 2000 - Power Tower and Frog Hopper open 2003 - Steel Venom opens 2004 - Foam Ball Factory and The Rockin' Tug added to KidWorks 2005 - RipTide and Skyscraper open 2006 - Xtreme Swing opens and Halloween Haunt occurs for the first time.
  22. Nice trip report, I visited the park and Zombie Burger Bar the day after you did. But I had the Undead Guy BBQ Burger with Cheddar cheese, pulled BBQ bacon, strip bacon, Rogue Dead Guy Ale BBQ sauce, mayo. Luckily for me Monster was up and running when I visited. A really fun ride.
