This is why King's Island will be the biggest park in the world someday. -

He deals with "space" issues as does his friend. He helped the KY Speedway people make better parking and traffic flow. He knows nothing of coaster types or manufacturers. Thats why he may have some cred in this. All the info was "space" related and how things fit into the parks. -

I was speaking with a gentleman today at work. He started talking about Banshee and how an old friend is working for Cedar Fair. He said three things that grabbed my attention. Time will tell if he is correct. 1. The new coaster at Cedar Point will be going out into the water of Lake Erie. That would be sweet! 2. The coaster in development at King's Dominion will be smaller than Banshee because of space issues. 3. King's Island plans to build another coaster in the space between The Bat and Banshee starting next year. I'm sceptical of the King's Island info. This guy is old and retired. He cares nothing for coasters and know not much about them. He has friends in high places so he may be privy to such information. He just happened to hear someone talking about Banshee and he then mentioned his friend and then the story. Regardless, interesting stuff for the rumor mill. -
I remember back in the day at King's Island you could smoke anywhere. Smoke everywhere in line, even on the rides. I am a former smoker. I disagree that the smoking areas should be off in some corner. That's just going to promote the smokers to smoke everywhere they please and try to hide it. Your outside already, the smoke is not going to hurt you. I would have to say car exhaust would be worse. You might smell it, but you are not getting any harmful smoke from smoking areas in the midways. As a non smoker, i think cigarettes are disgusting and it took me 18 years to get to that point. I feel sorry walking along midways and watching the smokers. They look so beat down and poisoned by carbon monoxide. I miss smoke breaks though. It's a bad habit and tough to quit. I think smokers are persecuted to no end unjustly.

What are those lines under the coaster supports. it looks like they have plastic bags on the footers for the concrete to cure. Did they bury wiring along these lines and cover with cement?? -
Worst Coaster Layout

Yes, first half of the Beast is a stroll through the forest and is uneventful. You earn your money on the second half. Imagine the second hill into the helix with no brake run the way they first tested it, i bet it went 100mph. -

Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread

I signed up for the campout. Cedar Point treats guests amazingly. I am a bit concerned about having to sleep with the sound of clean up crews, workmen and the annoying "reverse sound" of equipment all night however. Should be fun regardless. -

The Beast was smooth as butter last season. They replaced many sections of wood. It's double helix is still the best in the business. -

I wonder how much wiring is left to do?There is still station work to be completed. It needs the trains to be delivered. Is Clermont Steel doing those also? I wonder how long it will be before testing starts? -

It's been snowy and cold this winter in Cincinnati. I don't remember a winter like this since the 80's. It seems to snow several inches every few days. I'm sure it's much worse in New York however. -

The coolest thing I have ever seen on the TPR site. Very nifty looking prototype. I want a ride on it! And an original BAT head. Those are uber rare. And, it bears repeating, Kid Tums has the best childhood ever. -

April 17th is going to be a long day of Banshee riding. Media day in the morning and A Kid Again in the evening! I'm excited. -

I see they are digging out a trench. I knew there was a clearance issue there. Hope they do something cool with it. -
Fastest Lift Hill?
bonsaiisuperstar replied to bonsaiisuperstar's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Having i305 down for 2/3 of last season was almost a mega fail in my book. I suppose custom parts do take some time to make. Something failed with the cable lift if my memory serves me, a cog or gear? -
Which rides have given you greyouts?
bonsaiisuperstar replied to rcjp's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
i-305. In 50 rides, I greyed out every time and three times REALLY greyed out so much that i missed the first third of the ride. It was awesome . Hands down my most favorite coaster in the world. I have slightly greyed out in the double loop on KI's Vortex in seat 5 also as a previous poster claimed. But nothing like the grey outs on i-305. -
I know the Son of Beast was a 3 minute car accident, but visually it was MASSIVE and awesome. I live six miles away and could see SOB from my home. It stands tall over the trees which are very old and tall in that area. It was the backdrop for the King's Island. Woodies just look menacing. Are there others out there that dominate the park's skyline?

Worst ride "neuters"
bonsaiisuperstar replied to GigaG's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
It would be scary going into the double helix. Imagine 80+ mph. They say they all turned white the first evening they rode it and vowed to immediately add trims the next morning. -

I love the Beast music on the lift. "PLEASE KEEP HANDS INSIDE THE CAR AT ALL TIMES, REMAIN SEATED AT ALL TIMES!" and then the ding, ding, ding ding ding nutcracker music haha. -

Hey everyone! I'll be raising money for Banshee "Scream for a kid again" event. The previous event for Diamondback in 2009 yielded over $107,000. Money will be used to enrich the lives of children with life-threatening illnesses and their families by providing healing times of respite through fun-filled group activities and destination events. I set a goal of $500 but hope to raise much more. Feel free to hop onto my page and give a little something for the kids! https://www.firstgiving.com/fundraiser/bonsaiisuperstar/screamforakidagain
