  1. Banshee bash was awesome! And like you, the Beast motor was my favorite part!!
  2. The footers along KI's train ride were not from a ride. It used to have animatronic cowboys and Indians and gunfights. Sadly, they took them all out many years ago. Glad you enjoyed the Beast! It's amazing that it's so old and still one of the best woodies in the world.
  3. Son of Beast had the loudest lift hill/chain ever. I believe it was to pre-deafen you so you couldn't hear the screams of pain from the other riders.
  4. i305. Nothing beats it in intensity in my opinion.
  5. I talked to Don Helbig about it at Banshee Bash. He said it is getting totally rehabbed and it will be back next season like new. It's my favorite flat ride in the park haha. I was sad when it broke and was lifted out of the ground, and crushed when it had disappeared.
  6. Son of Beast was brutal. A three minute car accident.
  7. 1. Expedition Everest $100 million 2. Steel Dragon 200 $52 million 3. Thunder Dolphin $37 million 4. The Smiler $30 million 5. Leviathan $28 million 6. Kingda Ka $25 million 7. Millenium Force $25 million 8. Top Thrill Dragster $25 million 9. I305 $25 million 10. The Storm (Aus) $20 million Wasn't X (X2) like 48 million? (And the reason Arrow went belly up)
  8. The elusive homemade roller coaster credit. Do you have it?? This thing looks sweet!! The owner states it's been operating for twelve years and people from far away as Japan has come to ride it. So cool.
  9. The Beast - any non wheel seat. Preferably the last car. Banshee - Any seat gives great rides. It's different in almost every seat. Diamondback - Second to last row. I think it's row 14?
  10. I had the pleasure of visiting King's Dominion last week basically to ride my most favorite thing in the world...i305. Well worth the 9 hr drive just to ride it. I wish it was at King's Island. This is the most extreme coaster in the world. I've ridden all the big ones that get hyped and I never grey out on coasters but i305 kills me. My first ride was all by myself on the train!! I've only had this happen on the Racer at KI and now i305. I had the pleasure of riding 28 times. I greyed out 18, blacked out 8, was rendered totally unconscious once and had this weird experience where i was paralyzed but could see and hear but all the information to my brain was arriving two seconds too late. It was insane. Dale the ride op is a very nice gentleman and i see him every time i visit. He is a credit to KD and great with the riders. Watching riders come back from a ride is amusing. The ride OP says "How was your ride?" and everyone is silent and looks disoriented. AWESOME! The park was beautiful as always. I like the fountains and trees better than King's Island's version. The crowds were thin, in fact timmy was almost a walk on all day long. I finally got a credit on the wild mouse as it's been broken on my other visits. Dominator is a great B&M and never disappoints. Had a great time!! Already looking foreward to going again next year.
  11. I'm headed to KD on tuesday. I'm just checking here to make sure i305 is up and running as it is the main reason i'm going.
  12. Glad KI is your favorite park! They have so much land that it will one day be one of the biggest parks in the world. After over 100 rides on Banshee i switched to the inside seats and it's smooth as butter. For some reason the outside rear seats (especially the teal train) will jar you pretty proper. But then again, i'm getting old and can't take coaster punishment like i used to. It's my favorite invert, period.
  13. I'm sad that the Shake, Rattle & Roll is broken. Really broken. The whole thing is hoisted of it's foundation.
  14. Intamin Giga. I'm calling it now. Cedar Fair knows KI's potential in the coming years.
  15. Friend RMC on Facebook. They post pictures and updates quite a bit there.
  16. After visiting Cedar Point today i think King's Island is a giga coaster away from taking CP's "Best Amusement Park in the World" moniker. KI also has soooo much more land to work with. The future is bright for King's Island. Hey Matt Quimet & Rob Decker..... build us an Intamin giga pleeeeeeeaaase.
  17. I drove up from Cincinnati today. First time visiting since July of last year. The park was empty! Everything was a walk on. My longest wait was 10 minutes for the Lake Erie Eagles haha. A few observations: 1. Mantis needs to be destroyed by a meteor, low yield nuclear device, or anything else that will level it. It is a pain machine. I hate it everytime i ride, but figured what the heck might as well ride everything in park today since there are no lines. Never again. I hate it like i hated Son of Beast. They should let the general public dismantle it (bring your own demolition device). I will happily come and assist. The worst B&M ever? Yes. 2. I was excited to compare Raptor to Banshee. I've always been a big Raptor fan but it looked old, faded, covered in bird poop and tired today. It was rough too. Banshee is the King of B&M inverts. No comparison. 3. Gatekeeper was more smooth than ever. Had several great rides on it. It's station smells like dead fish though. 4. I've ridden MF over 40 times in almost every seat and just don't understand why people love it so much. The first drop is good and it has one nice airtime pop. I do not understand why Golden Ticket thinks it's the coaster sent from Jesus. It's certainly no i305. Most B&M hypers are better actually. 5.Dragster was broken for most of the morning and afternoon. I did catch one ride on it before it broke again. It always provides a nice adrenaline rush! I rode with a first timer who peed on himself lol. 6. After 10 visits to Cedar Point i FINALLY got my Wicked Twister credit as it's broken every time i'm there. It was disappointing. 7. Gemini was smooth as butter and i loved my rides on it today. Funny as it never really stood out on any other visits. 8. Iron Dragon should last another 100 years because it is so slow. Was it always so slow? The cars barely even swing. 9. Maverick is awesome. Maverick's crew is awesome too. I rode it 7 times and enjoyed every one of them. I love Cedar Point and this was a great day to go, but nothing seemed to thrill me too much today. It seemed dirtier than it usually is. In fact, I think King's Island is a giga coaster away from taking it's coveted "Best Amusement Park in the World" moniker.
  18. I think Vortex will be dismantled in the next few years. It's old, tired, rugh and does not attract many riders these days. I hardly ever ride it.
  19. Coasting for Kids was a Blast!! Had many rides on the Racer in the rain and drizzle. Met a few cool ACERs from Chicago. (Don't hate!) I ate lunch quickly and got 4 rides by myself with no one on the train (First time ever!) The station had a party atmosphere. We sang songs, clapped and had a good ole time! Thanks TPR and KI! It was the most fun i've had riding coasters ever. And KI raised over 20K total!! 7k more than last year. win.
  20. I saw Rob Decker and other suits touring around the waterpark today. Maybe getting ideas on how to spruce up King's Dominion's waterpark??
  21. The beast Beast article ever. Rob posted it on Facebook. Sit back and enjoy! http://www.cincinnatimagazine.com/features/2014/05/29/screeeeeeam
  22. Did you see the new All Season Dining Passes for Gold and Platinum members? $72 for all season and you can eat twice a day. Holy Deal!!!
  23. Sorry double post. What's with the fluffy bunny filled with goo?? I did not even type that lol
