OMG. I just watched the Dondonpa POV. That is the most stupid hill ever!

The Racer at KI was insane when i was 7 and weighed 50 lbs with just the lap bar. So many times i almost flew out to my death haha. I still get some air now in my older heavier adult body. Diamondback has great floater time if you do not staple yourself in. Magnum XL has crazy enjector air on those bunny hops. Basically, no such thing as too much airtime unless you fly out of the train. Thats too much.

I would think a ride named Banshee would have a full blown B&M roar. Gatekeeper was sand filled because it was at the entrance to the park.

I got to speak with Mr. Quimet during Gatekeeper media day. He was a class act. Happy to talk and give interviews with anyone who ask. Very friendly and upbeat. I am still amazed they (Cedar Fair) fed several thousand people for free all day long, gave out free gifts and pictures, and opened two additional coasters for people to enjoy along with the privelage of riding Gatekeeper before the GP. Cedar Fair made me a lifelong fan that day.

I just learned the Bat had a double corkscrew they tested in 1980!! I did see the model Arrow had tested via a youtube video, but didn't realize it was built into the Bat originally. Talk about pushing the limits! I pulled this from KI Central who pulled it from TPR (somewhere). I wanted to credit the right person.

Son of Beast. I rode it three times opening year and swore to never ride again. I always heard rumors that Kings island had invested almost 38 million in it from start to demolition. (Construction, removing loop, re-profiling & bracing, lawsuits, new trains & demolition) What a waste of money. but...they tried!

Lake Shawnee Amusement Park - This abandoned amusement park is pretty overgrown these days. It shut down in 1966 and has been derelict ever since. Lake Shawnee was the site of both a Native American burial ground and the massacre of the Clay family. The Clay family were settlers who were attacked by Native Americans. Two of their children were killed in the attack and the third was burned at the stake. The land was later bought in the 1920s and developed into an amusement park. Several tragic accidents happened at the park when it was in operation. A little girl died on the mechanical swings, when a truck backed out from a stand and struck and killed her. Anyone know the name of the 6'1" brunette working the Scream like a Banshee booth? I always see her with Don Helbrig. She is super model pretty! She should be the face of KI.

Wow! The first drop is going to be great! It looks pretty intense now that its together. I'm anxious for media day.

Super cool video about Dragster. Crazy that it takes that much maintenance all the time and still breaks down every two hours. I still love it though.

I'm just happy to have a nice new roller coaster on Earth that people can enjoy. Can we agree on that? I wish Arrow had a giga coaster. I bet it would be OMG WTF crazy.

Vortex is cool. It's not that rough if you know to brace yourself for that nasty transition. The bat wing is still awesome. Let's keep the Arrow's around as long as possible, you going to miss them when they are gone. Arrow was more boundry pushing than anybody before or since. If they ever remove it, a nice tight, crazy RMC woodie would fill the space nicely. On a side note...Banshee lift hill is going up! Can't wait to see it in person Friday night.

I just got home from KI. Lots of cars in the lot, but not many on the rides. EVERYONE was stuffing their faces with $1 days. I saw a family that had at least 30 bags of cotton candy. Massive lines for smurf cones. It was crazy. I just rode a bunch of coasters. I rode Flight Deck 6 times and I think i saw Geauga Dog actually taking that picture above haha.

Only Gatekeeper. But...I've ridden it 60 times so that makes it worth it. I know.... I know, most enthusiasts don't like Gatekeeper much, I enjoy it.

Agreed, Gatekeeper media day was one of the best days of life. I cannot fathom what that cost Cedar Fair that day. The fed 1,000 people all day and also opened MF and Raptor just because they are awesome like that. Being able to chat with Kim from B&M, Mr. Quimet and Mr. Decker was a real treat.
