Was at the park this morning. Windseeker, Drop Zone, and Delerium were all not operating due to wind. It was NOT windy at all. I'm guessing Cedar Fair has a new wind policy for rides over so high? Our new coaster was taking shape. Footers are higher and they were doing a lot of work on the hill down the valley. No pictures were taken. -

Rob Decker is a super nice guy. He will always stop and talk with you. You will probably see him down here quite a bit as this coaster takes shape. -

I was bored Friday and decided to ride the two kids coasters. I've not ridden the Beastie since I was 7. The first two hills are intense! I was very surprised, pretty extreme for a child for sure. I also rode the Vekoma Suspended snoopy coaster. It reminded of Raptor less all the inversions. It was pretty rough and hurt my head. I'm sure it way rough for a child....but it's Vekoma so..... -

Son of Beast. Nothing comes close to that 3 minute car accident. -

The gatekeeper lights look REALLY cool, especially the glowing red eyes. On media day early morning they were on for a while and then the power failed for them. They spent several minutes trying to get the lights to operate. They would light up and then go out and it seemed like it was tripping a breaker. Someone mentioned that the train lights are actually powered by batteries. I have a few pictures of it before sunrise but my camera sucks and they are blurry. I'm sure other TPR members have shot of the lights. -

Gatekeeper Media Day was awesome!! It's super smooth, super quiet and is amazing looking in person. (Especially at 4:00 with the lights on!) But.....after 40 rides my collarbones are so sore today lol. I'm happy to see others mentioning the tightness of the restraints. I understand the safety concern and that's OK, but i wish they could loosen them when the train is on the brake run at the station and someone has puked in another train and your waiting for them to clean it. That is my only complaint. I got to meet and chat with Rob Decker. I met Rob Alvey and he gave me a button. Cedar Fair was VERY generous and provided food for about 4000 people for breakfast, lunch and snacks. Nice stuff! (meatloaf, corn, pizza, mashed potatoes, soda, coffee, water, etc, etc) They opened Millenium Force and i had a nice ride. I also got to ride Raptor 14 times. The entire Cedar Fair staff was very friendly and courteous. The free photos, laminated Media VIP pass, and the laptop bag were an extra added bonus. Everyone it seems, had a great time. I did not get to fight Mike Wilson #1 to the death however, I'm sure your all disappointed. Cedar Point is a class act. I was simply stunned by their generosity. -

Its super quiet. I like how the lift chain stops and only runs when lifting a train. -

She looks like a sexy beast! Left and right sides seem to provide two different experiences. I've seen lots of people saying it looks slow. i think its wide shape give that illusion. It looks very graceful and fast to me. Can't wait till Thursday morning! -

Yeah, the "rescue unit" for Windseeker is behind the ride. It's big and yellow and they even laid new concrete for it to sit on in case it's needed. It should be working normally all summer now. -

Just got home from KI but forgot my camera. More footers have been set and the ones with concrete are square. Lots of room for a big coaster for sure. -

I'll be there at 9:30 tomorrow for Diamondback ERT. I'll be sure to try and take a few good shots of the footers which I'm sure are farther along. It's been nice all week so hopefully they have been working hard on our new mystery coaster. I'm hoping for a B&M invert myself. Time will tell. -

Yes, Flight Deck seat belts were removed. I went to snap mine together and was confused for a second. Not sure why they removed them. -

Sign reads: "Due to the increasing occurance of mysterious and bone-chilling screams, it has become necessary to close this section of the park until the cause of this evil phenomenon can be identified." The screams likely are originating from the tortured souls of SoB's victims from years gone bye. I thought that's why they closed that section of the park and removed the evil phenomenon already. -

Lines were long! I only got to ride a few rides after work. The Racer is much smoother after the work this winter. Lots of new wood at the bases of hills. They also removed the chain fence in the queue area that separated the two trains. Snapped a few pictures of the new construction site. It's all cleared in a small circle with the footers in the middle. The SOB station had not been torn down so it will be used it seems. I got a pretty good view from Delirium. The old SOB site and the area around Flight Deck had lots of land cleared so maybe all that hilly land will be utilized for a sweet coaster! -

I'm pretty excited to ride the Diamondback tomorrow! Also curious to see how the racer is now after lots of work this offseason. Hopefully much more smooth that it was years previous. It might be chilly out still, but it FEELS like summer now that i can get some coaster fun. -

Yeah, they have needed a row of trees along the front of the lot for years. Instead, they just continue to fix all the stuff the wind destroys because of their poor planning. Maybe i'll explain this to them next Saturday when I'm there. I'm sure they are concerned of blocking the view.
