So which defunct parks do you wish you could go back in time and visit? The park that I ultimatly want to visit is Euclid Beach. I have read so much about it and when driving past the old site and seeing apartments standing where rollercoasters once stood makes me wish it was still there. It looked like such an awesome park to visit and and ones to wonder what would it be like today if it was still there.

Kennywood Entertainment Acquires Story Land

A small waterpark would be a good investment! I wonder if they will take storyland in the direction they took Idlewild in. -
SeaWorld Worker Accused Of Threatening Massacre
RollerC replied to BarryH's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
He was arrested for his retarded opinion? That sounds...really over the top..especially since he didn't threaten any harm to anyone Anyways, what is he doing working at Sea World is he hates it so much? -

Looks like you are immature also. Have I ever said I was mature? -
Of course he didn't deserve it but what kind of kid goes into a croc exibit? He's 9! He's old enough to know that animals with big teeth will bite. I'm sorry that you feel this thread is heartless. I guess maybe we should rethink this. I mean they were only poking it with sticks, throwing stuff at it and crossing boundaries...right?

I don't think that the sale of towls will make even the fraction of the cost for a new coaster. -

Because Coasters don't always bring in the people...Waterparks in California do... -

My friend couldn't ride WT, TTD or MF because he was too big. He isn't fat, he plays Defense on our team and he's tall and buff. It was annoying though because I don't want to be the friend that made the other friend wait because I could fit on the rides. Don;t count on the grass being there...it may be June before it actually grows in. -

I never include CP in stats because it's Cedar Point...of course their rides are going to see almost the same attendence every year. But Dorney is a small regional park(Like Geauga Lake). -
Has This Ever Happened To You?
RollerC replied to gnewton34's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The ride ops at XFIG are pretty good at this, especially at GASM and Mind Bender, although I have never been handed out free coupons(I doubt Six Flags has such a thing ). Also I had another great experience during Goliath's opening day. It was raining that day, so they had to delay the opening an hour. The people who were standing in the station were entertained by one ride op that put on a little dance competition for the people waiting at the top of the stairs in the station. I don't think Six FLags will ever be doing the free promotions anymore...especially at XFIG... I never had a bad experience like you guys did. I do remember that ride ops on Gemini were really enthuestactic and I think one of them had a fake fro on and was dancing and singing trying to get everyone pepped up. -

Taking On-Ride Photos
RollerC replied to rollercoastermayhem's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
All it takes is that one person to drop their camera on a rollercoaster then turn around a sue a park saying "OMG WE DIDN'T KNOW WE WASN'T ALOUD!". But you know they could win because not many parks actually have "No Video Cameras" on the ride sign...or do they. -

Really? When it debuted at SFO 6 years ago it was a hit and had 3 hour lines for the whole first year. Plus it will debute as the East Coasts fastest inverted coaster. Dorney gets more riders than expected. Yeah the coasters are walk ons most of the time (except summer weekends and Saturday Halloweekends) but Talon had over 1,000,000 riders (or gave over 1,000,000 rides) in 2005 and Hydra had slightly less Thats because it was a new coasters. New coasters always get a HUGE amount of rides during it's first season run. -
Liseberg Discussion Thread

Building a Swing Shot that tall would be hard seeing as the forces are twice as much...not to mention that chambers to compress the gas. It really depends on the park for the cycle of an SS. If you hit a park on a slow day, you get a longer ride, but when you hit a park on a packed day, they use the shortest cycle to speed up the line. -
Why does this only seem to happen in country's like China? I have come to the assumption that ALOT of chinese parks have poor safety standards. You never hear about a 5yr old boy getting mauled to death at the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo...yet i'm not surprised at all to hear that some kid in China was eaten by a gator.

Wouldn't this effect the parks in Branson? I mean why go to SDC or CC when you can go to DISNEY right down the street?

I have heard from alot of people that the park looks alot better without X-FLight blocking the view of the main entrance and midway rides. -
I don't see why they would change the coaster because the characters color changed.

Park News - (4/20/07) Cedar Fair’s marketing company is pulling out the big guns and hiring ImageROCKS a contract to produce a two-spot package to promote Geauga Lake and Wildwater Kingdom. Cedar Fair wants commercials to elicit emotion from viewers and drive up attendance at the park that is struggling to find a nitch in new marketplace. Chances are you’ve seen some of ImageROCKS work before as they’ve produced quite a number of spots for Walt Disney World and the Disney Cruise Line. This is good news for the park. The previous commercials were horrible at showcasing the place.
