  1. I am not sure how this is any different than Hucks. Splash Pads are a free neighborhood or city park attraction in my view. I want my family to have fun without waiting in line as well. This could be accomplished by a) adding more rides or b) consistently fully staffing the tube slides and Big Kahuna with OPs. Most of the time one side or the other is closed or only one OP, thus long lines. I have noticed some really entertaining OPs on Tornado recently but their antics slow down the turnaround to much. But if he wants more for the little ones to do without any guards I guess it makes sense. He could also send out less pencil pushers with clipboards and have them help throttle the lines. Why are you against getting a splash pad? I have a feeling you are thinking that they would market this as a new addition for the year. I'm sure there would be a brand-new ride in addition to this.
  2. Hey everyone! My family is planning a trip to the Dells and are planning on stopping at Great America either on Monday the 21st or Friday the 25th. We wanted to know which day would be the least crowded. We may be forced to go on Monday anyway, so hopefully the crowds won't be too harsh then. We are thinking about getting Gold or Regular Flash Passes, and using our Gold passes to enter the park early. That way we can rush to Goliath and ride until lines get long, and then pick up the Flash Passes and use that the rest of the day. Is this a good plan or will we not need the Flash Passes?
  3. Where did you hear that? I highly doubt that is what Disney would've done, I'm sure they would've put just as much detail into the area as Universal did. I'm pretty sure the reason Disney declined the project was because JK Rowling is freaking crazy when it comes to her precious Potter franchise.
  4. Wait, are they serious about renaming a coaster, or are they just doing it for attention? If they are serious, I doubt it'll be a permanent thing, maybe a month or two.
  5. ^Why are you so aggravated by this? So what, she said something that used to be true and now isn't. It's not a big deal, at all.
  6. Mine is Mr. Freeze: Reverse Blast at Six Flags St. Louis
  7. I don't know if this counts but I visited Six Flags St. Louis on Sunday with 3 friends, and unless the wait was in the station, they would all say that the line was too long and leave the queue. One of them is headed to Disney World for the first time in a week. I wonder how he'll react to the lines there
  8. Is Wodan not a good coaster? I've never been to Europa Park, so is there a reason it came in last?
  9. Even though the footers match, I'm having a hard time believing that this is going to be a B&M. Guess we'll have to wait and see.
  10. Mr. Freeze is definitely an underrated coaster, so I'm excited that it won.
  11. After hearing those two comments I knew somebody on here would post about them. I agree. I really like GateKeeper and rank it near the top of my list, but it only has two forceful parts and one airtime moment. Maybe the lady thought that hang time on the zero-G rolls and dive drop elements counted as airtime?
  12. Says the guy who has Raptor ranked as his favorite steel coaster
  13. Maybe the note about the ship moaning has to do with the B&M roar?
  14. Also wanted to compliment the ride ops at Mr. Freeze yesterday. Almost right when the first train came back, the next would be ready to dispatch. Lines were a walk on all day because of these amazing operations.
  15. I don't think the coaster will be part of Splashin' Safari. I mean, the 66 Days at Sea is Thanksgiving-themed, so the coaster will most likely be part of the Thanksgiving area. I do hope that this expansion will also include another slide tower so that Hyena Falls doesn't feel so far away from the rest of the water slides.
  16. The graffiti themeing reminds me of the Batman queues. It looks pretty cool. I like the broken glass that makes the shape of a skull.
  17. Posted in the Kings Island thread:
  18. Take a look at the Mitch Hawker poll from 2013: 8. Shambhala 9. Nemesis 13. Leviathan 16. Montu I mean, they may not have any in the top 5, but they still have 4 coasters in the top 20. Also, with both Legend and Voyage, Holiday World actually went through the design process with the enthusiasts in mind. I'm sure this coaster won't be any different.
  19. I love the long, airtime-filled drop on Intamin drop towers, but the S&S tower at Holiday World has a crazy program that really ejects you from your seat multiple times. However, I have to agree with Gerstlaueringvar, S&S towers do feel a lot more controlled than Intamin towers. Intamin towers feel wild and out-of-control.
  20. Batman and Boss at SFSTL. Both rides have seemingly never-ending queues.
  21. I hope not. What the park needs is a smooth, inverting steel coaster. Time Machine at Freestyle would be a great ride for the park.
  22. 1. Hyper Coaster- Full of speed and airtime 2. Sit-Down- Hulk and Wildfire are both great coasters. 3. Flying- Manta is really a crazy coaster experience. Superman was fun, but Manta really captured the feeling of flying better with its terrain encounters. 4. Wing- Completely unique ride experience. Not as force less as people make them out to be. 5. Inverted- Very forceful, but the older ones can be a bit rough. 6. Floorless- The Floorless trains are a gimmick that really don't work. They really feel no different than a B&M sit down coaster. 7. Stand-Up- Ouch.
  23. Glad nobody was hurt. I don't see why it would take too long to reopen the show. I mean, they just need to either replace or fix up the red car and make sure a car doesn't hit that beam again.
