Cedar Point (CP) Discussion Thread
Woodie Warrior replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The fact that Cedar Point actually commented on the leak leaves me to question its realness. It does seem to be a little late to be looking at options for 2016, so this could be for 2017/2018. -
Personally I think the name "Brain Drain" is kind of dumb and I think Darien Lake already has a ride with that name, it's called "Mind Eraser"! I think any of these names would sound better . Drain of the Brain . Head Rush . Ring of Fire . Stunt Looper . Daredevil . Head Spin . Chaos: The Ride Can you please stop suggesting names for rides? All of those are far worse than "Brain Drain".

Tried to watch A Million Ways to Die in the West and couldn't even finish it. One of the worst comedies I've seen in a long time. Seth MacFarlane should probably just stick to writing and directing animated shows. His character just came off as lame, annoying, and boring. Overall, I did chuckle a couple of times, but comedies should have you laughing at more than 1/5 of the jokes. D

Book of Mormon was absolutely amazing. Just so over-the-top, unlike pretty much anything I've seen before. And being that we saw the show in St. Louis, the part where they sang about the Garden of Eden being in Jackson County, Missouri got a lot of applause. Hopefully Newsies comes near here next year. Then I'll have two of the biggest shows crossed off my "Broadway bucket list".

I was thinking The Lego Movie was gonna win the whole thing, and it didn't even get a nom. Yet the Boxtrolls got a nomination.

Gee. Thanks for the news flash. (P.S. I wouldn't recommend linking to that site) -

I think about this every time a poler coaster idea is talked about, and I really want it to happen at Cedar Point just because of this fact. Polarcoasters don't have any 500 feet drops. They might go to a huge height, but I doubt any of the drops are more than 200 feet. And thinking about it more, I don't believe a dive coaster is gonna be the final choice. I mean, the GP will probably just see it as a taller version of Gatekeeper with the seats that go on the sides of the tracks. However, Cedar Point could always surprise us, and other than a Flying coaster, they pretty much have versions of every other B&M (except for the Dive Coaster, of course) -

Most dive coasters are pretty expensive, right? $15 million doesn't get you that big of a dive coaster, but I wouldn't complain if they got one, even if it was shorter than most. -
The Official TPR Video Thread!

Was that village constructed solely for the coaster? It seems like that would be a lot to spend on theming that wouldn't even be visible to those not on the ride. -
The strangest burger I've ever had was the Bacon Mac n Cheese Burger at the Electric Umbrella at EPCOT. I'm not so sure it's the best I've ever had, but definitely the most unique. The best burger place I've ever been to was White Barn in St. Louis but apparently it's closed now.

I swear his posts just keep getting stupider and stupider.

Problem with that is you have to keep them coming back after the new ride. Holiday World should have no problem keeping the new crowds. People will come for Thunderbird and then continue to come back again and again because of the park's charm, amazing waterpark, 3 great woodies, free drinks, free parking, family rides, and the amazing employees. And Holiday World will keep building other new stuff as well.

Holiday World (HW) Discussion Thread
Woodie Warrior replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^Last year ERT was awesome. The only line to get on was for the front seat, and you could switch around to different seats all night and never leave the station. The crowds seemed to die down but not until pretty late, like maybe 11. The food lines were longer than the coaster lines. -
^ I did like the darker ending. I just wish it wouldn't have taken so long to get there. Also, did they ever clear up what happened to Rapunzel? Did I miss anything or did she just ride off with the prince and that was all?

We went and saw "Into the Woods" this past Saturday. I went in with hopes of it being the best film of the year, but sadly it just didn't live up to my expectation. That's not to say the first half wasn't awesome though, I mean the first half of the film goes by rather quickly with humor, good songs, and fast pacing. But the second half was just so boring and seemed to last forever. The cast was probably the best of any film in a while, with Streep and Kendrick the stand-outs. However, they're great performances weren't able to make the second half go by any quicker. I kinda wish they would've just ended the thing after the first happily-ever-after. Overall, I'd probably give it a C+ (the first half by itself would've been a A though).

Split day is what I would choose. Visit AK first and hit up Everest, Kilamanjaro, Dinosaur, Bug's Life, and one of the shows (not necessarily in that order, though). You could knock those out in a few hours. Then head to the Studios and do Tower, Aerosmith, Toy Story, Star Tours, and then see Fantasmic.

Rumors are pointing to it being sent to either SFFT or SFGAd next. Anything's possible, though. It would be cool if they did it backwards during Fright Fest so you could ride it in the fog and in the dark. Last time I talked to Dave about namtaB he said that it most likely won't becoming to SFSTL. However things can change, all I can say is wait and see. I don't see why, they did it with Freeze. Not that I am excited about the notion of namtaB but just flip the train around - big whoop. Seems SFSTL translates into 'No, that ain't gonna happen'. I am intrigued by the new dark ride, but in my opinion, it is not what the park needs (Scooby was doing just fine popularitywise). Holiday World will outshine SFSTL in 2015 for sure with Thunderbird. Lose the Ninja and get a modern Steel coaster! That's not how Batman Backwards works. They can't just turn the train around. There is a special train chasis and there is only one in the chain, which is why only one park can have it at one time.
