Game: Careful What You Wish For

Granted, but the ensuing paradox rips a hole in space-time and sixteen-armed octopus aliens invade Earth. I wish sixteen-armed octopus aliens wouldn't invade Earth. -
Hey, Sondheim is worth the interruption. Raspberries and StarCraft. Both at the same time is acceptable. Monkeys or chimpanzees?

GAME: What's worse than...

Mediacom cable. What's worse than being trapped in a mosh pit that's full of electric eels at a Nickelback concert? -
A paragraph is a group of several sentences, beginning with a topic sentence that introduces one central idea. The sentences that follow should support that idea. When you switch topics, you start a new paragraph. Stringing several ideas together into one long paragraph is hard to follow, and that's what we're calling the "block of text." Just skip a space when you switch topics, like I've just done, and your posts will be easier to read.

yea i dont know what parks your are referencing....sry lol. This thread keeps getting better.... ok i dont if you are making fun of me or what but if people are gonna make fun of me dont bother posting on my threads then. 1.I have a learning disability 2.this is an internet forum not a school essay...so please people dont be so petty over how i type/write! Also if you are bored with long paragraphs just dont read them then! That simple....that all i have to say. Okay, I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that 27 is not your real age. I don't know anyone who's 27 who still gives two sh*ts about learning disabilities and school essays. It just isn't relevant at that age. No, I don't have a problem with long paragraphs; I've read and enjoyed Alexandre Dumas. Now that guy knew how to write a long paragraph! But the #1 rule of writing anything (and coincidentally the #9 rule of this site) is to make sure your readers can actually read it. That means capitalization, punctuation, and spelling. Those things are important. Look, I've got a disability myself. My son has a disability. I've taught students with disabilities. It doesn't give you a free pass; it just means you need to find a different way to get to the same place as everyone else. Yes, I was making fun of you, but that was before I had reason to doubt that you're an adult. So I'll say this seriously: You work hard on this and you'll find the way you need to succeed. You just have to learn to write. It's not fair, but people will judge you based on your writing ability. When you write an email at work, your spelling and grammar reflect on the company you work for. So your ability to be hired to a good paying job depends a lot on your ability to write. Use things like Internet forums to practice. The more you write, the better you'll be at writing. It's going to be hard for you--trust me, I do get it--but if you put your mind to it and get help from people who love you, you will eventually do it. I am an adult...why would i lie about my age? Also are YOU an adult...grown adults dont poke fun of people over petty stuff. Yes. Yes we do. All the time. But I guess I've been on this thread long enough to need to actually answer the question posed: Best park I've ever been to is Disneyland. Worst is Magic Springs, though I will still say that Crystal Falls, their included waterpark, is awesome, and it was the only reason we went.

Icky Thump - White Stripes. It's been stuck in my head due to recent events. -

It's a matter of which voodoo will prevail: the magic the Cubs employed to reverse the Curse of the Billy Goat, or the blood sacrifice the Giants made in 2009 to win the World Series on every even-numbered year. -
Sweet! Explosions in the Sky are one of my favourites. I'm sure they put on a great show.

Granted, but then a knockoff Disneyland opens in Laos. I wish to invent a new shade of blue. -
Okay, seriously, that's awesome. I've seen many of his plays in community theatres around here. Never been to New York. That's awesome that he's cool enough to keep in touch with a fan.

I love that feeling of being nervous before a new ride. As you said, it doesn't happen very often any longer. I think the last ride to have me genuinely nervous before riding was Mechanica at Liseberg last year. I agree. It's a pretty great feeling of being nervous. For the most part, I know how a ride will be for me. I'm really looking forward to Lightning Rod and El Toro next year because I've been on similar rides and I've seen videos, so I can imagine what the experience is like. At WCB I got to go on X2, and that one was so far away from my experience that it was nerve-wracking approaching it. Intimidator305 looks fantastic, and I can definitely appreciate how...er...intimidating it must be in person. -

Granted, but then...you have less stress in your life. Really, there's no down side to that at all. I'm sure some kid would say "but then you're bored all the time." Wait until you're in your thirties, kid, and being bored all the time sounds like a dream come true. I wish I had a robot that could fix all the broken stuff I don't have time to fix. -

Major League Baseball Thread
ytterbiumanalyst replied to PhishyBrewer's topic in Random, Random, Random
There's quite a bit of luck involved. All the Major League teams are very good. The differences between them are actually pretty slight. One error can make difference between winning and losing. A pitch being an inch off can be the difference between a strikeout and a home run. Choosing to throw a fastball instead of an off speed pitch can mean throwing out that runner trying to steal. Just last year, the Cardinals were the best team in baseball, and we were ousted by the Wild Card Cubs. Both time this century when we've won the World Series, it's been as the Wild Card team, and in '11 we made it in on the last game of the season. It seems like we do much better when we fight to the end of the season for it than when we clench it early. I don't analyze other teams as closely, obviously, but it wouldn't surprise me to learn that this phenomenon holds true. -

Granted, but that requires advance planning and a refusal to procrastinate. I wish people didn't complain so often.
