Oh, ok. I see it now. Yeah, wow, they found a way to stack more stuff on top of stuff. Good for them! -

These both look awesome! Great additions. No one will miss Tidal Force once they see this. -
While I'd agree that El Toro is the best wooden coaster in the chain, American Eagle is second, albeit a distant second. American Eagle is an Intamin as well, has a great design, quite smooth for a wooden coaster of its age, and interacts well when they run two sides. The capacity is awesome and it has short lines even on busy days. There's hardly anything one wouldn't love about it.

I like the name. Fits very well with the last couple of things they've done. -
Weirdest Things The 'GP' Have Said

In line for Skyrush just now, a girl who was next for the front row line was asking the grouper: Girl: We've been waiting longer than anyone else. Please can I just hop the fence and go to another line? Grouper: I can't let you hop the fence, but when the gates open next, you can go to any seat you want. Girl: Really? Can I go to the front? -
What Was The Last Coaster You Rode?

Have fun, and good luck with Lightning Rod. Maybe third year's the charm? hopefully. tho to be completely honest? . . I'm way more interested in Wild Eagle. (shocked he agreed to go, he won't ride vast majority of the coasters, and he is NOT a fan of Country Music. . but he says he likes Dolly, so is willing to go next summer) You know, I can't stand country music myself, but I love Dolly, Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, and others like them. They weren't making "country music" as a genre; they were singing honest songs about their experience. That r ings true to me, and I'm drawn to that kind of song. Too many of the modern artists try to make a country song, and that's the biggest downfall. If you want to be a musician, don't try to fit a genre; don't work within expectations. You'll always end up singing someone else's song, and it will sound as phony as it is. Sing your song, whatever it may be. Wild Eagle is a great coaster. I don't fault anyone for loving it. I'm not sure why so many enthusiasts hate on the wing coasters, honestly. I've been on all 4 in the U.S., and they're all really fun, really reliable rides. -
Favorite attraction never made?
ytterbiumanalyst replied to Themonerd's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Disagree. Epcot would have been a totalitarian state with the behaviour of its citizens highly controlled by the Walt Disney Company, and ultimately by Disney himself. I think Orwell would have had some sharp words for Mr. Disney's plan had he lived to see them. I say that as a fan of Disney and proud to say he's a native son of my state. But that idea would have been a disaster, and we all should be glad it never became reality. -

That's because Trip Advisor bases their rating on user reviews, whereas Hotwire bases theirs on how many amenities are available (not necessarily how many are included in the room rate). -

^ Eisenhower warned us about the pharma-amusement-industrial complex. But yeah, it was a great time, and I'm glad everybody could meet up for it. More on that later, but for now, I'ma enjoy this empty rain-soaked Hersheypark! -
keep in mind, this is not an official "Disney" event. (at least it was not at the time, and I do believe it still is not officially a Disney Sponsored thing). -- can't piss off the Religious folks, you know. Oh god, yeah, I know that all too well. Not enough for them to be miserable for no good reason, they have to try to force everyone else to be miserable too. But I had no idea that Gay Days was not official. I remember when I was a kid and that started, there was a boycott that my parents very much participated in. We didn't watch any Disney or Miramax movies for a couple of years, and as we all remember, it bankrupted the company. Good to know this hullabaloo was all over a bunch of people who decided to all go to a theme park on the same day. Yeah, very cool of them to include the guests. Wait, what?

Seems to me being willing to have a complete stranger pick you up and drop you off and compensating them is the very definition of hiring an Uber. -
2018 Summer Trip tips
ytterbiumanalyst replied to Chasehat's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Flying requires a rental car to get between the Midwestern parks. Renting a car itself requires someone to be at least 25, have full coverage car insurance that covers rentals, and have a credit card for a security deposit. If your group doesn't have someone who can do all that, forget about flying. Perhaps your friends are merely objecting to going all the way to Virginia. Perhaps you could find parks more in a straight line from where you live to Louisville that could break up your trip. I'm not sure what you've been to and what you haven't, but Hersheypark, Knoebels, Kennywood, and Waldameer are all pretty close to the most direct path. Based on the other parks you want to do, I'd recommend Hersheypark for your group, but if you've not been to one of those others, you may want to give them a try. -
You do know their business model, right? There is no way they buy any more than the minimum number of trains. I know of course they won't. The 400 Riders per hour is going to make for a miserable line. Park President Jeffery Seibert confirmed in a Q&A session to Texas Thrillseekers that it'll be A three train operation with continuous moving trains in the station for loading and unloading. They'll make it work. He also stated they are wanting to have the coaster in operation by Spring Break 2018. Sucks that SFStL will probably get screwed over yet again. Okay, well three trains will help, but it's still 3 trains that combined add up to 1 normal train. And count me skeptical that Six Flags gets any new ride running by Spring Break.

That seems backwards.... I agree. Under that ratio, if a ride has a capacity of 36, then 30 of those would be Fast Lane and 6 standby. -
