The Rumor / Crazy Idea Superthread

It's funny how I had had this idea of the second half of a ride being another one's clone too. I imagined a B&M giga invert that, after a 100 ft tall MCBR would be a batman clone. It would be awesome! -
What should be the next Six Flags clone?

^According to Robb, wikipedia said it cost 12 m $. Is that considered expensive? -

^I think the question is why are there only four in the world given that they all ranked in the top 10 and occupied the 1st and 2nd position. -

^I do hope so. Not a big fan of their new ones: they look too long and narrow and they seem to affect the pacing on some rides. Still, as I already said, I would like to see a Giga coaster different from the others (a different type of ride) maybe with inversions, who knows... (no, I don't really think so) -

^Chances are it will be very drawn out like Leviathan it it really is a B&M giga. -
^Exactly, it's al about the duelling experience. I've never been on that ride but I imagine it feels kind of pointless now as it has lost its main purpose. It really is a shame that they don't duel any more.

If it really is going to be a B&M, should we expect it to be the same style as intimidator (a hyper)? Wouldn't that be king of repeating a ride, only bigger? I know that's what happened with Canada's Wonderland but I still find it strange. Could we expect a different model, a giga floorless maybe? -
Visually Awe Inspiring Coasters

^^Sadly I didn't get to ride DK until 2012 when shambhala was built. I don't know how I forgot this but I have always loved the way nitro looks with its wide supports and spread out layout. -

^Do you know what is the opening date for the 2014 season? Cause I'll be going to the area in the beginning of the month and I wasn't able to find a 2014 calendar. -
Weirdest Things The 'GP' Have Said
rcjp replied to maliboomer's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Really? How did you miss such relocation taking place near your home? I remembered this a few hours ago. During Christmas Eve dinner a distant relative of mine (who had an idea that I had recently travelled to the us to ride coasters) said this: "You know, the other day I watched a TV programme about roller coasters and they showed some in the US so they must have been the ones you went to. STOP! First error! I didn't say anything because I didn't want to be rude but I was thinking: Well, given that I've been to 4 different parks in the us, if they show a coaster from America on TV, there is no doubt that I have ridden it! He then carried on talking until his wife said: "Oh, you're making a mess, those weren't roller coasters: it was a water park" and he replied: "Oh, yeah, right..." No comments. I just learned to be immune to the GP. (in this case I think it's even beyond what we know as GP) -
Weirdest Things The 'GP' Have Said
rcjp replied to maliboomer's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Some GP doesn't seem to connect the sight of a train going upside down to the actual idea of upside down. I have had the experience of showing POVs to people where you could clearly see there were plenty of inversions (and I'm not talking about fast corkscrews like on B&M inverts, I mean massive loops where you go inverted for quite a while) and only after a serious amount of time would they ask: does this coaster go upside down? Oh, by the way, yesterday my mom showed my a picture someone had posted on facebook which said: accident on a roller coaster in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. This is the picture: Seriously? -
Oh god, they're both terrible but maybe deaf. Would you rather miss a hand or an eye?
-
^I guess that's a possibility. Still, even though alpengeist is not as forceful as other inverts, if flies pretty fast through the elements. In fact, it goes through the inversions more quickly than almost all inverts so I do find it a bit odd that the thought it could valley, it even has that trim on the top of the lift which didn't seem to do much when it opened (I'm saying this based on the videos I've seen) but now it trims it more than any other invert leaving the front of the train kind of "hanging" sometimes.

^^^What? Then how would you explain that every single other B&M invert has no such thing? It could be for an aesthetic reason (probably like Manta at Seaworld) but this one doesn't seem to be the case. That does make more sense but still it doesn't do that much for theming does it?
-
By the way, does anyone happen to know why alpengeist's trains have an extra set of wheels in the front with no actual car? I've been thinking about that for a while but I don't know why.
