  1. I never got to ride the Texas Giant. Maybe I will be able to ride Son of Giant when it opens. Eric
  2. ^ Who are you and how did you get in? Eric
  3. ^ Everyone you know apparently hates coconut. I don't like coconut myself, so add me to the "Hate Almond Joy" club. And that said, please excuse me while I go set all of our clocks back an hour. Eric
  4. ^^ I think had Knott's not already had Montezooma's Revenge, it'd get the same exact reaction if they brought it in from another park. The thing is, these rides aren't "cutting edge" with eleventy-three inversions, record breaking height, and 0-182 in one second speeds. The public will see this as "WTF?!?!?" and we enthusiasts see it as a step backwards. Eric
  5. ^ I think the whole thing about running Superman backwards was all a joke. Try to imagine the launch with riders sitting the opposite direction that they do now. FACEPLANT!!! But I have to admit that going up and coming down the tower face down would be cool---sort of like a Schwarzkopf shuttle on SERIOUS DRUGS. Eric
  6. An SUV and a sub-compact since they seem to collide with each other. Make sure the SUV driver is texting on her phone to add to the reality and accuracy of the experiment. What kind of trick would be appropriate upon receiving undesirable candy for trick-or-treating?
  7. ^ I honestly like Top Gun/Flight Deck more than Batman--The Ride. That's one ride that I hope is relocated if Cedar Fair ever closes CGA. "Montezuma's Revenge -- a 20 year old Schwartzkopf shuttle!" (RandyV) Just for the record, Montezooma's Revenge opened in 1978, so it's really a 31-year-old Schwarzkopf shuttle---and the only such ride in the U.S. still in its original location. I agree, it does still pack quite a punch, and I always ride it at least once on each visit. Eric
  8. ^ When SFMM used to swap trains between Psyclone and Colossus, mostly the underneath stuff (anti-rollbacks, brake fins) had to be switched. Of course, now that thankfully there is no more Psyclone , obviously they just leave the cars alone. One time, I hinted at Knott's running GhostRider backwards for Haunt. Now that would not be such a good idea, given how rough it's gotten. I also wondered about Ninja backwards, since Six Flags did that with XLR-8. Being more intense than XLR-8, I don't think Ninja would work so well that way. Eric
  9. ^ That is SO not a noise. How do I know? I turned on my speakers and not a darned thing came out while I read that post. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to say good-bye to Diana and go get on the freeway... Eric
  10. Not exactly sure what you mean or if you were referring to me. Why would an all-you-can-eat place switch to smaller bowls and plates?
  11. The thing about Terminator backwards is that they wouldn't be able to run the Millennium Flyers backwards. No headrests for one thing, and, being trailer cars, I don't know if that's possible. But if there was a way, that ride backwards would be a blast. Eric
  12. ^ Yeah, because I was thinking about heading out there on Sunday to get one last ride on Colossus backwards before they put it away for another year. Terminator backwards would be interesting. Eric
  13. That actually helps cut down on noise. See, it's easier to say "Istanbul" instead of "Constina...Constable...Contstand...Constipa..." Imagine millions doing that when referring to the city? Why did L.A. only put about a third of the new Gold Line light rail extension underground instead of the whole thing?
  14. If they use Roman numerals to count, then the difference is minimized by a maximum of minimalization. Why to they add caramel coloring to cola drinks?
  15. I got my info from the website, so consider me misled. Eric
  16. ^ According to the park's website, Fright Fest will continue through Sunday. I've actually given some thought to going out myself on Sunday. Eric
  17. ^ Another thing that changed was people. At one time, most people were amused by the relatively simple things that the Knott family did, and were quite satisfied with what the park had to offer. A good example is the mission models that lined the path leading toward the underpass near the stagecoach station. Back in the day, I stopped to look at them and noticed others doing the same, even if I'd seen them before. It wasn't long before people rushed past them like they weren't even there. Perhaps they'd already seen them, but even so, more and more people didn't even stop. How many people stop to watch the Covered Wagon Show (if that's even still playing)? Sad Eye Joe in Jail? Do many people get their pictures taken in the Pitchur Gallery? And on it goes... It's the same idea behind the huge portions of food that people eat. A little just isn't enough anymore. Eric
  18. At precisely oh-tomorrow-hundred, right before they pour the asphalt. Why can't we recycle Styrofoam?
  19. ^ I haven't ridden that many flumes, but Knott's is one of my favorites. Cheesy "animatronics" and all. It was one of Arrow's first flumes having opened in 1969. Personally, if they had to put Pony Express where they did, I wish it would have made a spiral over the rapids and maybe had a tunnel there. Eric
  20. ^ In about seven years, you'll be the mother of a cheerleader. Diana did that for a few years. Eric
  21. It's funny how so many people rave about Tennessee Tornado being such a great ride, which I'm sure it is. It makes you wonder why Arrow built such a great ride at the end of its existence, but so many earlier ones are so rough. So far, I've not ridden this ride, but hope to get to Dollywood at some point. Eric "Needs to get out waaayyy more" L.
  22. ^ No. Saturdays are better, because: 1. You can sleep in on a Saturday. 2. You usually don't have to work on a Saturday. 3. You can sleep in the next day, too. Why don't they just designate the same days each year when Daylight Saving Time starts and ends?
  23. Montezooma's Revenge is the only Schwarzkopf shuttle in the U.S. that is still operating in its original location. In fact, it may be the only one operating in the U.S. right now---period, now that I think of it... Let's see...both Tidal Waves from Great Americas, gone, though one may still be up at SFKK (not sure). Greezed Lightning from AstroWorld, dismantled. Laser Loop from Kennywood, gone. Any more that I may have missed? Eric
  24. ^ That's one reason I'd like to see Six Flags and Cedar Fair leave the fancy theming to Universal and Disney---the people who do it right. Eric
  25. ^ There's an easier way and it doesn't involve having to do any math. Just get ahold of their drivers license. Eric
