^ In my opinion, anyone who is going to teach or train people should have some degree of communication skills. One person I worked with on one job used to end way too many sentences with "...and stuff like that." (That phrase annoys me anyway, and I'm hearing it more and more. It's the "you know" of the 21st Century.) Eric

^ Of course, I don't know your exact situation, but it sounds like your dad is just being cautious about spending money, given the tough times out there. It would help if he cooled his temper, though. That doesn't help. In our household, the girls would spend us out of house and home if I didn't keep the finances in check and put limits on them. They don't like it, but...too bad. Eric

^ I was wondering about this as well. To date, I have not signed up, but I believe my weekend is free. If indeed there are a few tickets left, I'll sign up. Eric -
"¡¿ʇǝʎ ɯɐǝɹɔs ı uɐɔ ¡ƃɯo" (Matthew) How do you make upside down text? Do you have to stand on your head while typing? Eric

^ I wonder how many people know that the Cyber Cafe's original name was "The Coffee Grinder?" Probably the same number of people knew that the Golden Bear Theatre was originally known as the "7-Up/Dixie Cola Showcase Theatre." Good to hear that Deja Vu is up and running. Are Batman and Ninja open yet? Eric

No, because I've already ridden it. And, yes, I've already forgotten what it was... Do you like fish and chips?

^ My daughter (known as Penelope Pitstop when she drives) is heading down that same path. Her usual speed on the freeway is 70-75. But she already knows that any tickets she gets are 100% her responsibility. Eric

Still have my 2005 model LG VX4500 with Verizon. It makes/takes calls and texts, and that's all I need it to do. And the battery still holds a charge long enough to talk for at least three hours---just like when it was new! Eric

^ Cost. I've already talked to Jay about that and he said that it would take $10 million or more to get Metro back up and running. Six Flags---even in good financial times---can't justify spending that kind of money to refurbish an attraction that they can't market as a new attraction. Would you go running out to SFMM because they got a NEW MONORAIL!? Didn't think so. Eric -

^ I've thought the same thing, but removing that track is an expense that the company doesn't want to incur at this time (my guess). Also, at one of the events sometime back, I believe that it was Tim Burkhart who said that they've been "playing with some ideas" about how to use the track, but that's no guarantee that anything will be done with it. I've said many times that I think something like the Seuss Trolley at IOA or the old Rocket Rods at Disneyland would be a good idea, but only time will tell. Honestly, I think once Six Flags is more financially secure, the track will disappear. Eric -

^^^ Metro hasn't operated since 2003, so you couldn't have ridden it in 2004 anyway. Also, it is not coming back, so says park management---and it comes up during every Q&A session, along with removing Revolution's OTSRs. I, too, would like to see something done with Metro, but... It's. Not. Gonna. Happen. Eric -

^ Z Force was located about where the entrance to Batman The Ride is, and Condor was located about where the Panda Express is near Viper. Eric -
^ I don't remember seeing any movies with "Fluffy" anywhere in their titles. Eric

I always get a kick out of coming here and seeing one person in the chat room. Who are they chatting with? Eric

Blue Batman does look nice. The only disappointment for me is that SFMM's color scheme was unique at one time, and now it has a twin. Funny, too how Mindbender had that Schwarzkopf hair gel ad on their Schwarzkopf trains, and Viper at SFMM has that same ad on one of their Arrow trains. Great Photo TR! Eric

The Official TPR 2010 Trips Thread
ebl replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
"...The trips actually aren't all that expensive." (dannerman) For what you get, yes, the trips are a great value. It's when you don't have the $$$ in the first place that makes it expensive. That's been my problem. Eric "hoping to take his first TPR trip someday" L. -
People who fill their drinks at self-service soda fountains and then just...stand there. Y'think anyone else might like to fill their cups. Even more fun is when they say, "Did you want to get in here?" Nope, I just wanted to stand there holding an empty cup... Or the ones who have to fill the cups of everyone in their party. How is one person going to carry five drinks without one of those drink carrier thingies---which they never seem to have? I've seen people make two trips, and they leave some of the filled drinks (often with no lids on them yet) sitting there so they can come back. Why don't a couple of people in their party do the drink filling or let each one fend for himself? I've actually had a couple of experiences where someone does BOTH of what I mentioned here. Eric

^ Since I was able (finally!) to print my voucher, I'll fill you in. I should have cut and pasted this instead of typing it, but the second bullet in the instructions on the voucher says: "Present this voucher now through 5/12/2010 to receive your official Skip the Line pass good for you and 1 guest on the ride of your choice." That's it---word for word. Unless I'm missing something, "ride of your choice" with no apparent exceptions would certainly imply any ride in the park. I hope you don't get there and find some "fine print" when you turn in the voucher. Eric
