  1. "Once they know you're inside there's no easy way to get rid of them" (Manny In England) Y'think if you opened the door while cleaning a shotgun, they just might scatter...? Anyway, my peeve is twofold: people who interrupt, and people who point. First, how much sense does it take to approach two people talking and just butt in? Wait your turn! Second, I find that more and more people can't seem to simply indicate where something is by describing it, nodding toward it with their head, or a simple Disney-like point with the hand. Instead, they extend their arm and pointy-fingered hand toward it as far as they can---and often I find my face covered with someone's arm or I get smacked upside the head with someone's hand. Eric
  2. Yes, I don't buy many things, but for some reason I shop anyway! Do the English drive on the wrong side of the road?
  3. Believe it or not, I actually picked up a passport application at the post office today for both myself and Diana. Maybe Japan will work into our plans next summer after she graduates... Eric
  4. I just thought about this...did I spell her name right? The reason I ask is because I saw it spelled as "Kristen" elsewhere on this forum and it made me wonder... Eric "hates spelling things wrong---especially people's names!" L.
  5. Why am I still up at 1:45am on a roller coaster message board? Eric
  6. I guess it has been awhile since I've been to KGA or SFDK because I didn't even know that any park out West had the Flyers! Time to get back up there... And, nice photo TR by the way. Eric
  7. No. Do you own more than one camera?
  8. Diana and I ate at Tacone for dinner. Eric
  9. Lower blood sugar readings as of late. Eric
  10. ^ Born in Paris. < Born in California. V Created in a laboratory!
  11. Judging by the amount I step in each time I visit, yes. Did you take a vitamin today?
  12. My first ride on Psyclone was in August 1991, about five months after it opened. I have to admit that it was a great ride at first, but over the years, it got worse and worse. One year (1994), they ran it backwards for Fright Fest. That was eight months after the Northridge quake, but for some reason it was still running fairly well then. Riding it backwards (only did it once) wasn't too bad---certainly different, though. It's too bad that SFMM couldn't have done something to save it, but maybe its demise will open up a need for a newer woodie, and hopefully one by a better designer/manufacturer. Eric
  13. I've been saying for years that I have to get to Knoebels, but once that Flying Turns opens, I'm going to make an all out effort. Too many people have said that it's one of the greatest parks ever. Nice TR, too. Eric
  14. Best wishes to you, Pete! Eric
  15. ^ Along that same note...the Jehovah's Witnesses. They stop by my place and want to leave their literature---even after I've already told them that I'm a believer and have been for years. And if I'm not home, they leave the stuff anyway. Well, it does keep the recycling companies in business... Eric
  16. I always thought the so-called pre-drop looked funny. In my case, it usually causes me to get tossed and jolted before going down the first drop unless I'm in front. Better without---good riddance. Eric
  17. Time for dessert... Eric
  18. Like Wes, I have a chronic lung disease (asthma) and smoke bothers me greatly. I did try it once and coughed for awhile afterward, then vowed to never do it again---and haven't. Somehow, I'm the only one in my family of five children to not have smoked (both of my parents did, but my mom quit and my dad went on to die from emphysema, and my sister from cancer). I have enough trouble fighting diabetes. Dealing with smoking...just can't do it. Eric
  19. I've been asked a few times what my golf handicap is. My reply is always the same: those little windmills get me every time! Seriously, I did play golf only one time when I was about 15 or 16. Shot a 150, which I guess isn't too bad for a first time. Eric
  20. ^ Not sure what you mean by quoting me with stuff I didn't say. What I meant by straddling the lines is to get people to merge where they're supposed to, not by zooming up to the front. Eric
  21. <--- Not a band geek. In fact, doesn't even play an instrument. Eric
  22. Well, not injured, but I did have a very serious spike in my blood sugar last December (to 478---any of you diabetics know what that means!) that put me in ICU for three days. From what I was told, I was rather close to "death's door" because of that. I'm fine now, but have to shoot up insulin four times a day. Anyway, have you ever spotted a possum or raccoon in your yard?
  23. Sometimes I straddle the two merging lanes to keep people from cutting in front of me or zooming to the front like they have a FastPass or something. They don't realize that when everyone cuts in front of everyone else it slows everyone down. Eric
  24. ^ Is an ACEer named after a fish. < Is an ACEer named after Mom's friend in high school. V Is an ACEer named after a smelly bodily function!
