Some action regarding the Marmaliser today: (Source: Towersstreet) The base and the first arm. (Scource: Towerstimes) A arm being lift up. Looking at the pictures and the place, my guess The Flasher arm is the first arm. -

Just to bring back a old discussion about the ride: What is the world first feature? First we thought it had a Secret Element but it doesn't look like it any more. Then we thought something like 4d trains (With effect for the tickler and other arms.) But if it isn't in the track and not on the trains, what is left? Are they going for something gimmicky (I have no other word for it right now) like: World first single track double dueler or world first 14 inversion roller coaster? Kinda have a bad feeling about the world first of this ride. -

^ Yes the trains are 4X4. Meaning you look at the full train there. -

^ Believe me I rather have those comments about it then I use to have on other forums. Fix the last post and replaced it with a Picture from RCDB (since I never seen it fail) but toke one from Fluch von Novgorod, which has also the same restrains. The park released more pictures of the train showing it has OTSR: http://www.the-smiler.com/latest-news/the-smiler-ride-cars-arrive/ Love the hypnotizing screens on the back of the seats. -

What I only used 2 in the last four posts. Here are the retains from Fluch von Novgorod: Picture source RCDB. (If it still not works I try it again.) As you can see there exactly alike to the metal plate even. I really believe we are looking at the same restrains here. -

^ You know every Gerslauer OTSR has that. Besides you see one restrain completely in length and it has no beam coming down from it. -

^ If you look good you really see the OTSR. The Yellow things in the top of the picture not the one with holes. Also if you look closely the Smiler logo is on the nose of the train. If you played the game you see a exact copy of them right here. I really like the trains. -

I wanna know what is underneath the wrappings. I'm now very curious about what the restrains are like, if they're OTSR or Lab bars. -

^^ So that's what Merlin did with the washing machine rumors. The small connection pins underneath the airtime hills where for the walkways, so not for supports. Alton Towers guid facebook. -

^ Got you covered on what they have done and yet to do. I've been trying to keep with this insane looking great ride. So I took a construction plan made the whole track red and then the inversions orange. After that I filled in what they have done with Black and what they have done from the inversions yellow. If you look at it you can almost see how they plan it. First finish the Dive-loop and make the first airtime hill. Then finish the sea serpent and go over with the Second airtime hill. Then I suspect them to finish the first drop, do the vertical lift, work on the final turn and in the same time the twisted drop after the vertical, then finish the brakes before going to the first lift hill. Tattenhill Aviation ltd facebook released this earial picture of the Smiler today: Was taken early by the looks of the construction updates and this. -

I already saw some at Alton Towers enthusiasts forums. The screams of end May to this will open in June now. Was more a remark that there was no vertical construction. I understand it completely. An other update from towers street facebook towards the 4th inversion of the ride the last one to be build : From the toilets looking at the dive loop. Supports in the air. For who that didn't believe the footer story. I guess that would be placed already if it wasn't true. A view on the fresh tracks. More second dive loop supports. We'll be seeing it soon I guess. Staffordshire knot. The most beautiful twisted element if you ask me. Got to love the mini supports. An other one of the missing support. And an other one of the Staffordshire knot. Can't wait to see some trains right on that spot. Can't wait to see it finish. -

Park was closed for three day's what updates did you expect. But if you can't do without them today it reopened and I have 2 pictures of the First Drop to dive loop. They hadn't got the chance to do something these past 3 days they didn't place a single jigsaw piece. Pictures are from Towersguide. -

When do they plan to open it? I must say this is already more beautiful then I could ever imagine The interaction with Black Mamba, Colorado and Talocan is really good. My regards to the park for the theming work already done, and I cannot wait for the ride to be done and ride it. I'm just watching it with a open mouth. -

I got an update from TowersStreet. I took 3 pictures to share the rest can be found on the link below. Finishing up the track of the Sea Serpent roll. Support with a missing leg. The footer for the missing leg was placed wrong (I read on Towers Times) and so it looks odd for the time being. Working within the vertical lift trench. Looks like they are on it for when the vertical lift comes. Wonder how they get the cat out. http://www.towersstreet.com/the-smiler/construction/2013/21st-march-2013/ -

I actually like them. They match the creepy demeanor of the ride. Plus they match the color scheme the ride will have once completed (Black, white and yellow). I don't like how it looks. The arm warmers? Why? Since this ride is kinda like a since lab why not white or yellow lab-coats? With the ride logo on the back. Let them wear the same jackets and yellow pants then I'm okay with it. But this I thinks its kinda odd and childish. Awesome that the Sea serpent is done. Looking now they need to start on one inversion (which I predict to see soon) and finish of the Drops. Looking at it maybe next weak work on one of the lifts?
