it VERY likely will take best Director. (Bullock will lost to Cate Blanchette from "Blue Jasmine" in Actress. . but it has a very good shot for Best Director) I really should have joined an Oscar pool. . . as I got all the major awards correct (including best song!). . . Oh, I wanted U2 to win, but had a feeling it would be the one from Frozen, as the urge to give the writer the EGOT was gonna win him the honor (and it did). Let it Go didn't win just to give the writer the EGOT, it won because it is catchy, popular, and is really the only memorable song of the bunch. Plus, the wickedly talented Adele Nazim really hit it out of the park at the Oscars . we'll agree to disagree. (tho, I admit that I giggled hysterically at Ellen trying to make up for Travolta's horrible gaffe) while I don't find it a "bad" song (unlike at least one of the nominees -- not counting the one made ineligible after the fact), the strongest song was U2's. make no mistake, "Let it Go" won to give the guy an EGOT. I'm fine with that -- heck, I predicted it -- but that's why it won. edit to add regarding performances tonight: Idina looked fantastic, but she sounded a bit strained (so did Bette Midler for that matter). I think the orchestra might have been a bit too loud. that might be why the U2 performance just blew me away (no real use of the Orchestra). . . AMAZING: [youtu_be]http://youtu.be/4gEaO_sUvNc[/youtu_be]

SO much to love here: -- the cheesy music in the opening shot -- the amount of marijuana growing thru the lift hill -- the insanity of the LOOK of thread the needle -but only thru ONE of the loops! -- that helix. . OMG, that great helix -- the woman next to you. . LOL -- those brakes! perfect description. I want one of these in the USA

Your age is really showing (how old were you at Finding Nemo. . you must have been 9 or so?). I'm almost 47, and we avoided "Frozen" like the plague, because the early trailers were all that idiotic "Olaf" thing. when we heard that he's only a small portion of the film, and that it's a very good musical?. . THAT'S when we went and saw it. and have seen it 3 times now. LOVE it, best film Disney has put out in many years.

Parks Coasters and Rides in Movies and TVbert425 replied to spike's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys! I was going to say that! and it *was* released theatrically overseas (tho in USA it was a TV movie). . so yeah, technically, KISS and Magic Mountain starred in a movie together and I didn't see this mentioned, but "Rosanne" filmed a 3 parter at Disney World. and the Partridge Family filmed an episode at Kings Island in 1972. (go to 3 minute mark at this section of the episode to watch Danny and Keith's girl on a coaster, and then pull Keith up to the top of the Tower) [youtu_be] [/youtu_be] and then SHOCKED that this wasn't mentioned (unless I just missed it), but the Brady's then copied the Partridges and filmed their own episode at Kings Island the next year. (there's a Pop-Up video version that VH1 used to show that's online) I'm showing my age, but these episodes are what made me fall in love with Amusement parks!

What's your favorite Theme Park Souvenir?bert425 replied to bert425's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys! it's so funny, since as I mentioned I rarely (as in never) buy T-shirts at parks. unless it's a Disney park. .and then I go nuts! really. . . I have a California Screamin shirt (this one) I've worn it . . .um. . twice in 6 years?
