  1. I've never been in Atlanta for the Pride week. I'm always in Atlanta during Labor Day Weekend for Dragon*con, so most of the gay men are always gone, as that's the same weekend as the big party in New Orleans (Southern Decadence). however, Labor Day always seems to coincide with Black Lesbian Pride weekend, so we always have a grand time hanging out with the TONS of Lesbians who come to town for that
  2. while the theming within the mountain leaves a *lot* to be desired, it actually does appear to be faster than the real Matterhorn ride at Disney. was it actually faster? or is it just coming across that way? and it warms my heart a bit to see the skyride still operating out of the mountain
  3. I shipped mine out on Monday, but haven't seen my giftee post they got it yet. so I"m assuming they were out of town for Thanksgiving and just haven't opened it yet. (I always worry about stuff getting lost in the mail!).
  4. that really was rather awesome. I'd go on lift-hill, the ride! the squealing on the way down reminded me very much of the old "High-Roller". . that's the same sound it made too, and it's why I had to ride it alone (my Partner said "hell NO!").
  5. more ironic that no one believed it at first, as Walker was the subject of a "death" hoax earlier this week, and his publicist had just on Friday evening issued the statement that it wasn't true and he was alive and well. and then 8 hours later. . . . creepy. . .
  6. My condolences on your loss. although personally?. . I think it's WONDERFUL that his parents showed up for the Drag Show. (it was a benefit for their son, and what a wonderful show of support (even after his passing) that they wanted to participate in some way, and yes, showing up is participating). hugs to you all!
  7. AMAZON tons of lightning deals (admittedly, a bunch for me, but have gotten a bunch of great gifts for others as well). from the comfort of my home. they have new deals about every 15 minutes
  8. that makes me miss the Joker Coaster from Fiesta Texas. with the cars backwards (on Joker) it was just as rough, with the exact same layout!
  9. I guess the trick is you put someone on your shoulders to reach the buttons -- so have someone to share with?
  10. I live two miles from Venetian. I'm well aware, but Tix 4 Tonight has been pretty horrible for deals lately. I just got twilight tickets online which were even cheaper than the locals discount, haha. cool I should have added, that the Iron Man and Thor figures look really cool, and thank you for the trip report! (I meant to, and got called away to help clean for all the family arriving tomorrow. Was actually coming in to edit that, but I'll just say it here )
  11. if you ever go back, helpful hint: the Discount Tickets booths "Tickets Tonight" (all up and down the strip) sell 1/2 price or less tix. (I think we paid $13 each when we were there in May). I thought it was worth it just cause I was able to get this Jenna Jemeson pic
  12. Also a good choice. I was so disappointed that when I finally made it back (as an adult) that was *way* gone... i have fond memories of that as a child.
  13. "Do you Smork after sex?" "I dunno, I've never looked!" THAT outta the way, I have to say, that ride looks like a heck of a lot of fun! If I were at a carnival and saw that, i'd absolutely ride.
  14. I always thought it was open at your own discretion. oh, cool. first time I've participated, so wasn't sure (I haven't gotten mine yet, but will likely wait to open).
  15. got my final piece in the mail today, so gonna wrap this weekend, and mail on Monday. wOOt! are we not supposed to wait for the holidays to open? (surprised to see folks opening gifts already?).
  16. Finally a video that doesn't make me miss the Texas Cyclone (sniff). love those skipping-stone boats! Looks like you can be seriously hurt, but fun!
  17. my gifts are all done, tho waiting for one to show up (likely by Thurs). I have to wrap them, get a card, and then get to post office. . .so likely will be in mail by Sat
  18. cut and paste from earlier in the thread, for whomever got me. (if T-shirt ends up, I can fit in XL, but prefer XXL). Pretty much, I'm easy to make happy. . so surprise me! You really can't go wrong (unless you get me a Country CD )
  19. yep. .got mine in my hotmail inbox so I'm all covered and ready to shop for my Giftee! (bwa-haaa-haaaa)!
  20. as much as I'll miss the vast openness, of that corner, it's been a long time coming. Trop, in particular, had a LOT of wasted space in front of Casino Entrance, and it was more obvious in that it was right across the street from MGM & NYNY -- both of which come right out to the corner. truth be told tho, we hated the re-do, and preferred the old-school Vegas feel of Trop before all the remodelling. but hey, progress is gonna happen.
  21. I'm not all that familiar with the folks here (despite lurking for a while, and posting more than ever). But yeah, I'd like to participate. LOL. if you give me someone from the "gay" thread, I'll likely do better, as I know those folks a little better than most (NO -- not in *that* way, you pervs). I've only ever been to the "main" parks in Florida & West Coast (and never out of the US), so I'd love any kind of Park Maps/flyers . . basically a TPR bag o crap would make my holiday other things about me. I like all music other than top40 or Country. Paticularly late 70's-80's bands (favorite bands KISS & Goblin) I like Horror movies, and still watch TONS of DVDs (favorite Movies: "Demons" & "Return of the Living Dead") I like Broadway shows, and am salivating over the new Deluxe original cast recording of Wicked (tho my partner will likely buy that for me). but yes, I'm in! hugs, bert
