Look at the youtube profile: http://www.youtube.com/user/coolstorybro9000 I don't think that Universal made this video. That Youtube channel has been there since 2010, and the existing videos are of some concert. I'm guessing they added the copyright at the end for fun or something.

^They didn't specifically refer to this ride. They're probably an insider talking about a ride coming in the next 10-15 years, dropping the hints now. In all seriousness, I am expecting a monster of a ride, especially with how early they've started on this. At this point, it seems as if there will a backlash if this ride is anything less than awesome, and they haven't even announced it.

And how do we know that this "mechanic" wasn't actually the recently let-go, unemployed Dippin' Dots guy? Since current TPR members were the original people posting about their conversation with a mechanic at Apocalypse. Unless you're joking, in which case, ! ^I agree with what someone else mentioned, being that the mechanic was supposed to "leak" this information to create buzz about the new ride. It's even made it's way the to the LA Times now, showing that it worked if this is what they were going for.

I'm not sure, but I'm glad to hear that they're making the theming of the parking lot rides more apparent!

I have no complaints. I would be ok with the current offerings for another decade (or until I ride every possible Star Tours ride). Ok, maybe not that long, but they are spending a ton of money on DCA and are putting a lot into the Matterhorn rehab. I think it's great they're working on making sure what's currently out there is great before they focus on a major new attraction at Disneyland.

I typed in the promo code and the event is $50. I'm already disappointed seeing the perks are almost the same as WCB.

I think it should be up to the parent. I have a 3 year old brother who's already reached the 42'' mark and will probably be 52'' by the time he's 5 or sooner, but my family will probably not let him on, say almost any ride at Magic Mountain because he would probably get really scared. But then again, there's tons of younger kids that love "scary" rides and I don't have any problem against letting them on because they would be fine.

^My guess is we won't see anything majorly new until the rumored new Tomorrowland in a few years. Cars Land will definitely drive more people to Disneyland and not just DCA.

^It's a serious profit maker no matter what, but I'm hoping they plan better as well. I'm optimistic that someone just didn't want something stolen without having to pay for a locker, but you obviously never know.

^That would probably help somewhat, but I think better planning would help the most. With the ticket booths having the lines they did, limiting it to premium passholders would still cause a lot of people to come. I think it would probably still reach capacity at least some point during the night. Hopefully they'll learn from this going forward, especially if the information stated in the story on Micechat linked to by Sir Clinksalot is true (only planning for 44,000, comparable to a lazy Saturday in the offseason, with tons of management employees gone for the night).

I'm not sure where "actually" comes from; I was just saying that the only reason they added the single-rider line was probably to even further lower the chances of having the cars flip due to a car with 3 people. I completely agree with you about the bashing. Although I will say without speaking for anyone else, that I'm 6 foot 1 and 1/2 and pretty badly hurt the back of both of my ankles on the ride a few months ago (when it spun, 5 times for me in fact on a very unbalanced ride). On one of of the spins some part of the car just drove into the back of my ankles. I wouldn't be surprised if they had complaints from taller people who are still allowed on the ride (I believe it has a height maximum).

I don't think it's much of a "why add those rides" as it is a "why not?". Having those rides will entice more people to buy it, and having more rides will spread people out more.

I'm thinking the only reason they added a single-rider line to Green Lantern is so that there's less unbalanced rides.

This is all just too bad to hear, especially with (as far as I've seen and heard) the success in Orlando. I have no idea how they can plan better next time, assuming they do this again 4 years from now. The only thing I could see working is making it a reservation-in-advance type of event, with a standby line of course. I doubt they'd do that, though.

^^I also didn't think it would be worth it, I'm glad I didn't go. I felt good about my decision once my friend posted in the evening yesterday that they'd been sitting at Ball Rd. for 30 minutes without even moving... They did eventually get in though, but said today it wasn't worth it at all because of the crowds.

^^Slurpee + souvenir cup? Imagine the possibilities... Great trip report right there. It's the most evidence so far to a large-scale coaster; I'm guessing at least one launch through a tunnel.

^I think they were talking about actually sides of jelly, say for a piece of toast. On a similar note, does anyone think Disney will ever serve alcohol in Disneyland? On top of the whole "family environment thing," I'm sure with the status-quo, DCA gets a lot more business because there's definitely people that go in just to get some beer and go right back into Disneyland.

Montezuma's Revenge at Knott's at the end of WCB. Very fun 3 ride marathon to end the day!

^During the summer they fully run (load and unload) on both sides of the station. They split the line right before the stairs (there's another set of stairs on the other side).

^But would that really be enough of a record breaker for the park to market? I don't really think the GP would be going "Oh, the longest coaster? Let's go to SFMM!" My guess is that they're going for the height and/or speed record.

^I hadn't been to Knott's for 8 years despite living 45 minutes away. My father and I were so impressed at WCB that we've upgraded to annual passes and I'm basically telling everyone how great the place is. I'm not even sure if I'm going to go to SFMM and spend money there for my birthday over Knott's anymore (this wasn't even a debate until WCB).

I will also be there because it will also be MY birthday on the 25th! I don't think it will be too crowded, and I'm not planning on getting a flash pass. If you do end up getting flash passes because of crowds, I'd go with the gold because of the huge reduction in wait time.

^Same here, we upgraded to annual passes for only $2 each! We will DEFINITELY be going to Knott's many times this year, as we're only 45 minutes away. Knott's yesterday was actually my first time there in 8 years, despite being local. I'd rather be at SFMM over Knott's if I could only go to one on a normal day, but it was very clear that Knott's put more effort into pleasing everyone. Not only that, but it was just a more fun day in general.

I had the most exciting two days at theme parks I've ever had! Thanks to Robb and Elissa and the two parks for putting this all together! I will also now be going on the New Hotness tour! (pending approval by Robb and Elissa)
