  1. Nobody cares about Patriot because it is another new age B&M that will be overworked and feature too smooth of a layout. It most certainly won't rival earlier B&M's like Montu and Raptor in intensity.
  2. When I rode in this year that drop surprized me and my girlfriend. When I got into the station and read the sign I was thinking to myself, "That's a strange rule to have on a coaster." By the time we got off I knew why it was a rule. If a smaller kid sat in that seat they would fly out. The drop caught us off guard. I wasn't fairmilar with the layout of the ride and thought that the first drop was the one that is visable when aproaching the ride entrance. We were talking as we went up the lift and not paying much attention, since we have been on many large coasters in our lives this seemed like it would be a baby. Well lets just say we both about craped our pants and kissed are butts goodbye when that thing droped in. It is really cool. The coaster lineup at the park is awesome for a small park. If you haven't been to Mt. Olympus, simply put, GO!
  3. Having rode Hades this past season I have to go with the Voyage. Hades was the best new ride in 2005 in my opinion and Voyage will be the best new ride in 2006. The Gravity Group is on another level of concept and design compared to the other woodies coming out. Tatsu does look impressive but I probably won't ride it next year. It will be the big new ride on the West side of the US for sure, especially since I can't think of any others being built over that way.
  4. This is my dog on Halloween dressed as a Pirate, for some reason his eyes look really crazy in the one picture. The first picture is crazy eyes Bandit and the second picture is normal Bandit This is how he normally looks, also know as Bandit the Pimp! Crazy Eyes!
  5. I expect the same things as when I visit a Six Flags park. Six Flags is basically a carnival that doesn't travel. Also it seems to fall into most of the categories listed above.
  6. They trim RB to much and even on the upward side of an airtime hill. All the times I have rode RB I have found it boring. I beieve that Nitro is a more powerful experience than RB. It has better floater air and the layout is more exciting. This all makes sense though because RB was built before Nitro, so Nitro should be better. The two years of research and devlopment that seperate the rides was beneficial to Nitro. This new Goliath should be good. I hope it isn't to tame like the B&M's of late. Silver Bullet and Hydra are quite tame compared to the early B&M's like Batman The Ride, Montu and Kumba. I hope B&M doesn't continue to almost over engineer there rides and continue to take the "snappy" elements of the past out of them.
  7. ^ I wouldn't put any suspended arrows in my top ten. Without a doubt everyone I have been on is not nearly as exciting as a B&M or a good Hyper or a good woodie. Who knows though maybe the arrow design lead to such rides as Batman The Ride. It was the first suspended coaster or was it not? Someone who knows answer that.
  8. Although I never rode the bat I would have to say that the best suspended arrow I have been on was at Paramount Canada's Wonderland. This ride was crazy and seemed to swing and move just as quickly as the bat did in the video. Also the current suspended arrow at PKI is good and so is the one at SFMM. These all are tame though compared to the one at Canada's Wonderland.
  9. I have yet to have a good experience on one of these. I do like all the close calls they put into the layout but the pounding my head takes from the ride isn't worth it. Also I have noticed that the SLC's seem to be smooth in some seats and terrible in others.
  10. ^ This is also true, everytime I have been to MM the board they have on the ticket window that tells which rides are closed is full or some of the rides that are closed don't even fit on the board because there are so many closed rides. I've also noticed that they don't play music in that park, at least when i've been there.
  11. Six Flags Detroit That park would go along well with the image of the chain! They could have multiple burnt down building themed attractions. Just Kidding
  12. That sounds about right!!! LOL
  13. This is true, it is better than most of those rides, except Magnum. In that case I would ride it before half the rides at SFMM. The actual coaster is cool but the theme is just sad, it's nothing like a Disney ride experience.
  14. Yeah I only knew it was the coaster in Canada because I had saw the director interview a month or so ago and they said the filming location. Also the coaster is originally from Boblo Island which is near my home. Although I have never rode it I did see it in action once. Boblo Island closed years ago and the coaster ended up in Canada on the West Coast. The movie looks like it will be very unrealistic, although this was true in the first 2 as well. Basically the coaster just happens to have a multitude of mechanical failures all at once. The ones I saw were: Restraint failures, wheel failures, complete structural failure of the track rail, and failure of the joints between individual cars. Although everytime I ride a Vekoma this is what feels like is happening I always manage to make it back to the station alive. I mean granted I have never opened my harnes mid course and jumped from the moving train but hey maybe next time. Here are some pictures of the beautiful Vekoma featured in the movie. Pictures are from www.rcdb.com Pure Smothness!!! It looks better than it feels!!!
  15. This is Cedar Point attempting a Disney attraction. Lets just say that it was a failure. They took an existing ride, Avalance Run, and added a theme to make it Disaster Transport. Basically they were going for a Space Mountain type ride and got a piece of junk instead. The parks President has even stated on numerous occasions that it was one of the worst decisions he had ever made. The pictures are from www.rcdb.com Before After
  16. Considering the average wedding costs around 27,000 these days I think that this is a resonable idea. Since your wedding was a few years ago you would have to factor in a bit of inflation but it does seem practical. I'll be in contact with you in the future when more questions arise. Thank You thus far.
  17. This topic is mainly focused for people who have had a Disneyworld Wedding. A few weeks back I sent a personal message to Robb asking him about his Disneyworld Wedding experience. Robb suggested that I start a topic on the subject. He said that Elissa and maybe other people on the forum may be able to answer my questions. After visiting the Disney Website and going thought the wish book process they provide to plan a wedding I found that it didn't really give me a good idea of what the cost and difficulty of such an event would be. 1.) How many people did you have at your Wedding? Was it the intimate wedding or the custom wedding? 2.) What was the approximate cost of the wedding? Feel free to break down the ceremony and reception into categories if you want to. 3.) How many hotel rooms were you required to book and at what cost? 4.) How long did you stay on Disney properties for the wedding? Did friends and family stay the same amount of time? 5.) Did you have to go to Disneyworld prior to the wedding in order to finalize plans? 6.) What other hidden costs occurred during the experience? Admissions, food, etc... 7.) What photo option did you pick for your wedding? 8.) Did you have a video made of the event? If anyone can answer these questions that would be greatly appreciated. Also feel free to give me any other info that you want to about the experience. 9.) What did you like about the experience and what would you have liked to see changed? I'll probably have more questions if I can get someone to answer some of these.

  20. Thanks for the name change!
  21. I would have to say I became an enthusiast between 2002 and 2003. I began to love coasters in 1997 when I first rode the Raptor. It was my junior year in high school on a class trip. We waited for the ride for around an hour. I remember my friends made me get in line and when I sat down in the seat I said, "At least i'll ride one ride today." I was scared until we droped in. Since that moment I have always loved riding coasters. To this day I believe Raptor has the best drop in of a B&M invert. The last row in the far right seat is unmatched. I became a enthusiast watching the construction of TTD. I was addicted to knowing everything about the ride and how it was going to work. After riding it a few times I came to find out it wasn't all that awesome but it did turn me into a enthusiast. This 2005 season has been my craziest year as a coaster enthusiast. Me and my friends went on a 6 day trip visiting 9 theme parks in over 2400 miles of travel. It was awesome. This season I've been to 20 different theme parks and on over 100 new coasters, bringing the total to 196. Now I'm addicted to the industry and the people that make it what it is.
  22. LR is the best I've been on thus far.
  23. Raptor at Cedar Point in Sandusky Ohio http://www.rcdb.com/ig1.htm?picture=13 Last day of the 2005 season (Oct. 30)! An awesome season ending night ride!
  24. This is the coaster they used for the movie: http://www.rcdb.com/id319.htm
  25. Thanks for answering all the questions about commercials everyone. I live in Southfield Mi, which is close to Detroit. We only get Cedar Point Commercials eventhough Michigan's Adventure is only a bit furter than Cedar Point CF doesn't bother to advertise it in the Detroit metro area. They must just figure that people from Detroit will only go to CP. I have never seen a GL commercial either. Sounds like competition is stiff out in NJ and Allentown. I remember when I went on a trip to LA that CF advertised the crap out of Knotts and I never saw one commercial for SFMM eventhough they are only like one hour apart. Also you never saw any Disney commercials but they basically don't need to advertise at this point to do well. I remember staying in Anahiem for a few days while in CA. We were had a hotel room that overlooked Disneyland and California's Adventure. That place was packed everyday to the brim. At this point in my life theme park advertising has no effect weather I visit a park or not. For the general public it does though. I love the Dorney Commercial with the fighting one of you talked about, they should still run that commercial.
