  1. Space Mountain is REALLY fun to go on when it's raining.
  2. I was being half serious and half sarcastic. The Batman queue smelled like crap last time I went and there was stuff carved all over the walls. It's good to know GL, after almost a year of being open, hasn't looked like that...yet. On a serious note, I love the theming for the ride. It looks like something you would see at Islands of Adventure, though not quite as festive.
  3. I'm already impressed with the theming going into the queue for LL:DoD. The only problem is that it won't look that impressive about a month after it's open with "Oscar loves Debby" or "Max got high here" carved all over Luthor's iron suit. Let's not forget the trash that will probably be all over Lex's office that will smell like someone took a dump in there.
  4. Just when I boarded the train for Giant Dipper, a GP behind me asked me if the ride went upside down. I replied with a firm no. When I also went to Sea World, on Shipwreck Rapids, one guys asked me where Manta was. He asked if it was the "one with the buildings".
  5. I'm amazed at how those pictures of Lightning and Mater look like they are EXACTLY out of the movie. This looks like one of the most detailed environments Disney has ever done.
  6. First Wildcat and now Disaster. I loved Disaster Transport as it was such a unique ride. At least I got to ride it before it's getting relocated to Dorney as an outdoor coaster. I agree with someone else that said that the park needs another dark ride. Without Disaster, the park will now lack a themed ride of any sort. They should bring back the Pirate ride in a more modern form or something.
  7. I agree with this. I love Transformers and I'm glad I can finally ride something similar to Spiderman in my neck of the woods, but I still prefer Spiderman (I haven't even ridden the refurbed version yet!). What made Spiderman so great was the interaction of physical sets and 3D. I've noticed there were no physical effects in Transformers. Also, Spiderman spun around 360 degrees at least three times but Transformers only spun 180 degrees. But there are a few things I will give Transformers to: stronger illusion with the elevator scenes, superior queue area, and the story. I honeslty thought the stroy for Transformers fit in better than Spidey. I mean, riding a Transformers robot to evacuate the all-spark VS a goofy news vehicle that "drives itself"? I guess that's just me. Nit-picky comparisons aside, glad to see this after waiting so long for it.
  8. Wow! Manta looks much better that I thought it would be! I knew it would be a fun ride, but it looks a bit more intense than I thought it would be. This ride is solid proof to any GP that you don't need any inversions or heights to make this a great ride. From what I'm hearing from the people who have ridden this, I'm glad that the lack-of-airtime in SoCal streak has apparently been broken by this ride. I'm going to drive down to San Diego sometime on one of my days off just to go down to the park to ride this. I can already tell that SWSD will become a much better park just with the addition of this ride. Now that the park has a solid coaster, if only they could put a good dark ride in there...
  9. This came from someone posting on the Haunt page for Knott's: I understand the whole thing about the haunt monsters needing to be "scarier", but you're saying that some kid who's seventeen, who can legally see R-rated movies by himself, has to go home because it's "past his bedtime"? That would be a bit insulting for their core audience. Besides, it should be up to parents who call the shots not someone who thinks Haunt should suddenly become an adults only event.
  10. Since Disney loves to increase the price every year, it really makes me wonder if their attendance will be really hurt, especially their AP attendance, when Harry Potter at USH opens. In the public's standpoint, why pay an arm and a leg for a Disney pass when they could get a Universal pass for much cheaper with two world-class rides (Transformers and Potter)?
  11. One of my friends just called the soon-to-be-open Lex Luthor: Drop of Doom a roller coaster.
  12. It's an advertisement for Pixar's next film: Monorails.
  13. While the coasters looked pretty cool, one ride I wish I could've seen was the Alpine Sled ride. Being a big dark ride fan, I would have loved to have seen that. Anybody on here had the privilege of getting to go on it?
  14. Glad to hear the music is working again. Also, when I went on Green Lantern last week, my car completely flipped once towards the end. Guess that was a lucky mistake.
  15. I'm just waiting for Knott's to make another surprise announcement and say, "LOL JK! We're adding a new dark ride for 2013!" So all of that excitement just for pins. Show's over people. Go back to your rides on Xcellerator.
  16. I've been hearing the same thing as well. I'm hearing everywhere that WaterWorld is safe and that Shrek and Gibson will be getting the axe. Curious George will most likely stay but be Potterized. They also want to have it doe by Summer 2014 but 2015 may be more realistic. I know one thing for sure: USH wants Potter done by 2015. Japan will probably be finished ahead of us, but not THAT late.
  17. 2016? I thought USH wanted it in ASAP? If they would book it, they could have it open sooner than that. I kind of find 2016 hard to believe.
  18. I always thought Hawaii could use a small park.
  19. Seriously! On that other site you are referring to, someone commented on the Carthaway Circle Theater interior photos by saying that he "saw better lighting inside of a Walmart."
  20. I was really never really impressed with PP. Last time I rode it, I don't remember getting much airtime. All I remember was the large amount of pain the OTSRs put upon my chest. Wouldn't break my heart to see the PP get scrapped and be replaced by a large E-Ticket dark ride or something.
  21. Maybe this dude was confusing GL with Riddler's Revenge?
  22. I wonder how the whole set-up regarding the queue is going to work here. Are we going to go inside Gru's house, back outside, and then into the final preshow room? I guess we'll find out this Summer.
  23. I never knew about this either....and I work there!
  24. Went to the park today for a couple of hours. I drove all the way up to Valencia to find out that there was no class where I go, so I decided to eat a breakfast at Denny's and get some rides in while I was in the area. I've got a few things to report on regarding the park. First off, the Batman loading building smelled awful. It was bad enough to make me think I was going to catch a disease going through there. For some odd reason, Scream and Colossus were closed today; in fact, the entire area was blocked off. I'm not sure if it had something to do with Lex Luthor construction or some major remodeling they wanted to get done before the Summer season. Speaking of Lex Luthor, here is some construction pics: The facade is looking swanky. Construction on the tower. No line for Riddler's! I'll finish this update with geese.
  25. Wow. Due to popular demand, another AP preview weekend has been added from May 12-13. http://universalannualpass.com/preview/?s=so
