I just renewed my SFMM pass last week and I stood in that horrid line. Yeah, it was NOT 3.5 hours. It was 90 minutes. When I first got to the park around eleven, I saw the line to process my pass and decided to wait around the late afternoon to get some rides in. Hopefully the line will die down. UH-UH! NOPE! It was actually slightly longer! Then you have to fill out all of the work at the computer. I thought I went to renew my season pass for SFMM, not my driver's license.

I honestly don't care if there isn't another "maze" on the Log Ride again, as it was never different from the day time in terms of what sets/decorations they put up. I just hope they don't cut the monsters from it because I always get the best scares on the Log Ride. I mean, you're stuck in a moving log with no where to go and monsters are after you. How scary is that?

If Universal does make a Middle Earth/LotR land, I'm just curious as to what kind of ride it would be. Would it be an E-Ticket flume ride, like Pirates and Malestorm on a grander scale? That's pretty much the only kind of ride I can see playing out for this kind of franchise. I think it would be neat to see Universal's take on this sort of attraction. It'd be great to see Universal do something that has a lot of animatronic and set detail heavy attractions that Disney always does. I just hope Universal doesn't have a scene in the ride where your boat will stop in front of a screen and jerk around. I think Universal has enough of those kind of attractions. Also, Clinksalot, in regards to the space issue, they can get rid of Popeye and Dudley. As much as I love the Dudley-Do-Right flume ride, I wouldn't cry to much if they got rid of it for a Lord of the Rings attraction. EDIT: Whaaaaa--- my post has a mind of its own! I meant to say Lord of the *Rings*! DOUBLE EDIT: No, I'm trying to say Lord of the R- oh, nevermind.

Yah most people either love the expansion or hate it. I would have preferred something else, but I obviously have no control. As much as I hate to say it, KBF most likely will not get a giga coaster because of the space limits. I would enjoy a mini B&M hyper (like the one in Japan) but even that is pushing the possibilities. A park like Knott's would benefit more from something like a Eurofighter, like I said. I'm sure we all would love to see a B&M, but the park is so land-locked they don't have room, unless they have the coaster extend out of the park, but it's still unlikely because it would be so close to residential areas. I actually like the expansion. Even though something more permanent and more interesting can occupy that space, in the meantime, I think this is a nice quick-fix for the boardwalk area. Higher-capacity family attractions are certainly better than Plunge. Besides, we heard Raffi say during WCB last year that he talked to some dark ride manufacturers so I'm sure good things are coming for the horizon. Can we finally accept the harsh reality that Knott's will never, ever, EVER get a Giga? Please? It's the rumor that won't die; just like Disneyland returning the PeopleMover or Universal buying the entire golf course next to it.

What I find odd is that ever since the park has gotten new management (To turn DL around for the better), the griping has gotten worse. From Luigi's balls, to Ariel's hair, to some algae building up in the water in the corner of the park that nobody will notice, it seems like the fanboys expect so much out of the management that they expect everything has to be totally perfect. It's Walt's original Magic Kingdom so it better be PERFECTLY in line. I think part of this also has to do with the fanboys being jealous of Walt Disney World. While the Cali fanboys seem to gripe about Disneyland here, I'm also hearing a lot of bashing from the same people at how "horrible" the management at WDW is. It isn't fair that WDW has nicer parks and has the better versions of many of the rides (Space, Splash, Mansion, Test Track>Racers, Mermaid, etc.), so let's build WDW into such a flimsy strawman, that we can whine and moan enough to trick ourselves into thinking that Walt's original Magic Kingdom is better than anything the other coast has. DL fanboys just need to be thankful for what they do have in their backyard and realize that there are many people in the world who would love to live next to a Disney theme park. Period. So few have that privilege. The people that visit DL or WDW that live in the central US probably don't complain about the silly things at any of those parks.

Best Dark Roller Coaster?
Someotherguyuser replied to drewelap's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
1) Revenge of the Mummy (Orlando): This ride has everything I could ask for from a great indoor coaster: superb theming, awesome animatronics and effects, FIRE, total darkness, forceful launch, speed, and airtime. GREAT ride. 2) Rockin' Roller Coaster (DHS): My second favorite. The theming isn't quite as interesting as the Mummy and there are no stand-out effects, but the launch is amazing. The inversions are also really cool, especially with the street signs along your path to enhance the "Don't-know-which-way-is-up" feeling. 3)Space Mountain (MK): This ride has great airtime, more unpredictability, and speed. The theming in the queue is really awesome as well. 4) Revenge of Mummy (USH): Yeah, not even nearly as good as the Orlando version, but I love the couple of pops of airtime and the longer backwards portion. The dark ride portion is somewhat descent, but yeah, Orlando has the MUCH better version. 5) Runaway Mountain (SFOT): The theming is a bit minimal, I love the darkness, big drop, and high unpredictability of this ride. 6) Space Mountain (Disneyland): I hesitate to put this at the bottom of my list since the theming and lighting effects are REALLY good, but the ride itself is just...okay. It's got a solid amount of speed, but that's it. The whole course is really predictable. At WDW's, you could really feel the speed and the forces, but here, it's just "eh." It's right turn after right turn and that's basically it. Now gone, but worth mentioning: Disaster Transport (Ceder Point): If this were still around, this would be at the bottom of my list of the indoor coasters I've been on. It wasn't a great indoor coaster, but I loved it for how unique it was. The ride felt like a runaway escape through a defunct factory and that added a lot of "cool" factor to me. It was an old ride, but I'll miss it. (Curse you GateKeeper!) -
I went to Disneyland yesterday to check out Indiana Jones after the much-needed refurb and it looks significantly better than it was before. Like the reviews said, there were no significant additions. The biggest additions added to the ride were new lighting effects and enhancements and an extended dart corridor. The new lighting looks amazing and really made the ride look like it was 1995 again when the ride first opened. The demon in the skull room inside the idol of Mara looks much better now and the projections in the bug room and rat room look much improved. Not only did they do a new paint job and enhance the lighting and projections, but they fixed all of the old effects...well, most of them at least. The snake still doesn't move nearly as fast as he did when the ride first opened and the falling ice was not fixed. The vehicles aren't even nearly as rough as what they used to be. Besides all of that, the boulder is working pretty well once again, all of the skeletons are in full working order, both of Mara's eyes are smoking in the hall of promise, and the Indy animatronics look much better. Overall, Indiana Jones is much better after the refurb. Not very many new enhancements added, but just a simple spruce-up, which was what the ride has needed DESPERATELY for a long time. Sure, it would've been nice to add some new scenes to replace the rat and bug rooms, I'm glad to see the ride fixed and in pretty much full-working order. With the biggest effects in working order again, Indy has retained top spot on my list for my favorite ride at Disneyland and my favorite dark ride.

Quickly scrolled through the pages so I didn't see any comments on what I'm about mention, so here it goes. To me, the most important thing I would like to see is being able to create dark rides. I would like to see not only being able to create a roller with dark ride scenes (Like Mummy or Blue Fire) but also dark ride systems like KUMA arm, EMV, EVAC, etc.

Hearing good things about the improved Indy! People love the build-your-own Troop Transport vehicle interactive feature in the queue! Uh-oh, it looks like a lot of people on YouTube are demanding the old, broken-down Indiana Jones back. I know they have remembered the ride that way in their childhood, but change can be for the better.

TPR 2013 Tours Announced!

KNOWN or NEW? -
I love the new version of Test Track. It's certainly better than the old one which felt too stuck-in-the-mid-90's. Now it feels more up-to-date and fitting with the theming of "Future World" at EPCOT. I don't really see why everyone on the FB/YT pages are bashing this so hard as it has all of the same "Test Car" elements that the old version had but it's more up-to-date. If they randomly had Eric Idle slapped into the ride, then I would see a reason to complain.
