Hersheypark (HP) Discussion Thread
molemaster43 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I found the Reese's Xtreme Cup Challenge to be a very entertaining ride. It was very fun all around. Tidal Force is another ride I enjoyed that gets you soaked! Aside from those 2 rides, I only rode coasters, but the coasters I highly recommend are Storm Runner, Lightning Racer, and the Great Bear. -
@RCTrioFan - The water coaster wasn't really meant to be proportionate or super realistic. It was just meant to be an awesome looking addition, and I did that. @Xtreme97 - The story was not something I focused on. The Factory actually crashed in the game, so I wanted to actually add that to the story. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This is the final update for Hanker Mine. I am stepping out of the storyline to end Hanker. This update will feature comparison shots from the beginning to the end of Hanker Mine, final shots of the rides at Hanker, and some news on my next RCT2 park endeavor. I have decided to begin a brand new park! It will be a medieval themed park featuring awesome rides and spectacular theming. It will feature CS, CFRs, and CTRs! Now here is the photo update showing the rides and comparisons between the past and the present: Hanker Mine (RCT2) in Game Exchange Hanker Mine is the first small park in my design thread. Enjoy! [RCT3] Colorado Canyon

The car ride looks a tad short and a little compact. I think you should spread it out a little more and add a little theming to it. Notice how some car rides have a bridge or a roofed building that they go through. I'd say put something like that in. I can't wait to see the wooden coaster! -

What is your favorite Roller Coaster?
molemaster43 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I am a huge wooden coaster fan. I love wooden coasters more than anything, honestly. That is why my Top 4 is wooden coasters 1. Boulder Dash - Lake Compounce - The setting for this ride is really unique and there is some crazy airtime. This is a must-ride coaster. 2. Ravine Flyer II - Waldameer Park - From the top of the lift hill, you get an excellent view of Lake Erie. Then, you go on an amazing ride filled with airtime, even in the front at the beginning of the day. 90 DEGREES!!! 3. Thunderhead - Dollywood - Some GCI goodness here. It may only be 100 ft. and go 55 mph, but there were amazing twists and some pretty nice airtime throughout the ride, especially after the station fly-by. 4. Thunderbolt - Kennywood - It's squish time. This is a very unique coaster as it takes advantage of the terrain, making an all-star wooden coaster that rattles you around and occasionally gives you a headache. Yet, it is still my favorite classic wooden coaster. 5. Storm Runner - Hersheypark - Wow. My only steel coaster in the Top 5 is very close to Number Four, Thunderbolt. The launch on this ride was just, wow. The inversions were awesome and I felt them alright. This ride rounds out my Top 5 with a big bang. Boulder Dash Ravine Flyer II Thunderhead Thunderbolt Storm Runner -

How does not feeling the inversions make it great? If you can't feel them, what's the point? I'm not a huge fan of inversions, sometimes, the feeling on inversions messes with me and I end up getting sick and not riding much more (Thanks a lot, Sooperdooperlooper). -

I heard some already mentioned things at Hersheypark like, "The back is faster," while in line for the Wildcat. And in line for Storm Runner, I heard someone say, "Kingda Ka is the third tallest coaster in the world and Top Thrill Dragster is the tallest." I wonder what is second... -

I also enjoyed Ravine Flyer II's view. It gave a nice, enjoyable view of Lake Erie. -

Favorite Dark Ride
molemaster43 replied to pgathriller's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Pirates of the Caribbean at Magic Kingdom was very fun. My favorite non-Disney dark ride is Kennywood's shooting dark ride: Ghostwood Estate. Excellent theming and cool effects make this an amazing ride. -
Hidden/Secluded Park Areas

Crack Axle Canyon at Six Flags New England was, literally, empty when I went there in 2011. Since Goliath is there, though, traffic should pick up. -

I was at Hersheypark today for the first time. Overall, the park was awesome and the rides were incredible. I rode 9/12 coasters at the park (Roller Soaker was closed and Fahrenheit and Sidewinder looked sickening). So, I am going to give some reviews of the rides I rode at Hersheypark: Wildcat: First ride of the day. This was only my second GCI coaster ever. I have to say, this ride was pretty fun. The first drop was really good and the ride seemed to rattle you around, but not bang you around like some other wooden coasters. Overall, pretty good ride: 8/10. Lightning Racer: My third GCI coaster and my second favorite (behind Thunderhead). This is, by far, my favorite racing coaster, as it is, in my opinion, much faster than some of the racing coasters I've ridden (Rebel Yell, Kennywood Racer, etc.). Overall, incredible ride: 9/10. Wild Mouse: Your typical wild mouse. Fun, like most of the wild mouses I have ridden. Overall, fun: 6/10. Storm Runner: This is my favorite ride at Hersheypark. Easily. The launch on this ride is absolutely incredible and the rest of the ride is just plain old fun. Overall, awesome ride: 10/10. Trailblazer: Meh. This ride felt short for a mine train. Overall, boring: 4/10. Reese's Xtreme Cup Challenge: Another incredible shooting ride. 197000 points! Overall, fun: 7.5/10. Coal Cracker: A fun water ride that really didn't get you wet, which I wasn't that happy about. Overall, fun ride: 6/10. Great Bear: Amazing B&M inverted coaster. I could not even feel the first two inversions. That is how great that was. It also has a great B&M roar to it. Overall, incredible ride: 8.5/10. Tidal Force: Tall Shoot-the-Chutes that got me SOAKED. I wasn't dry for 3-4 hours! Overall, fun ride: 6/10. Skyrush: The new ride for 2012. Or my slogan, a new pain in my legs. This ride hurt SO MUCH. Everything was fine until the first airtime hill. The drop and lift hill were really fun to me. Overall, painful ride in the legs: 4.5/10. Sooperdooperlooper: My second Schwarzkopf. Not really a fan. It felt really short and it just wasn't thrilling. Overall, okay: 6/10. Comet: My last ride of the day. One thing this ride should have but didn't, AIRTIME. I didn't feel any airtime on this ride, so I was bored. Overall, boring: 4/10. Overall, it was a good park, it is just the Hollow's coasters weren't good. None of them. It really disappointed me. However, Minetown, Midway America, and Pioneer Frontier had awesome coasters. -
@simaticable - Thanks! And no, it is not a Shoot-the-Chutes. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ONE SPLASHDOWN AND A CRASH! Daniel Harris reporting. Two huge things going on from Hanker Mine. The first is that a major ride in Hanker Mine had a serious crash. The Factory had a major brake failure which resulted in the car not being stopped and it flew into the station, resulting in the death of four people. Here is the official park statement which took over the park homepage: The Factory has since reopened and no problems have occurred since reopening. The second major thing is that the park has announced and already opened Mine Chute Splashdown! Mine Chute Splashdown is a high speed water coaster. This ride features two incredible splash down sections, one above ground and one underground. The ride has become very popular since opening, as it broke the park record for fastest line fill for a new attraction, beating out Rush. I have gotten a chance to ride this ride myself, and all I have to say is, "Wow." This was, in my opinion, the perfect addition to the park. The park lacked a water ride, and it got a water ride and another coaster. Those splashdowns actually do get you pretty wet too, especially the second one underground. In addition, the park added two more rides to the park, the Processor and the Hanker Experience 3D. The Processor is a Looping Starship while the Hanker Experience is a 3D show explaining the history of Hanker Mine and doing it in a comedic and thrilling fashion. So, here is a photo update of all the park and what is going on. While the ride itself was being revamped, the Factory's roof got fixed up as well. Mine Chute Splashdown looks amazing. This ride is just so fun. Like I said before, the perfect park addition. This ride brings the parks coaster count to three. This is the building for the Hanker Experience 3D. (Ignore the blue, in-game glitch) There is the Processor and a new food place, Golden Eats. Park overview. *Note: My next Hanker Mine update will be my last. The last Hanker Mine update will be a tribute to the whole park, showcasing everything in the park. Plus, I will show some comparisons between then and now*
