  1. We went there in July when we were in town and loved it, 25% off is a good deal so maybe we'll hit it up again if nothing else is open. Thanks for the suggestion and coupon code!!
  2. We’ll be driving down to PF tomorrow. Anyone know of anything that’s open on Christmas Day that we could do after arriving? We’ll be getting there in the early evening. Goats on the Roof is closed as is The Old Mill restaurant. Other than that I’m not sure what else to look up.
  3. When are you going to HP, Bert? StormRunner is one of my favorite rides anywhere so I agree with you there!
  4. Canobie I'm thrilled to hear you finally got to ride Lightning Rod!! I'm heading down there this week for my first Smoky Mountain Christmas and will definitely check out the show you mentioned.
  5. I have been requested to find out by the DW Christmas event regulars if there is hot chocolate available at the park and if so, where? Has anybody had it and if so, what does it taste like? We'll be going over xmas. My SO is extremely focused on this for some reason and won't stop talking about it until I find out specifics. He's really picky about his hot chocolate but LOVES the hot choc from 7-11 if that helps at all in people describing the hopeful HC they have at DW. The HC we had at BGW was very sweet, almost sickeningly so, and SFGAdv's was seriously gross and watered down. Please save me, I am so over this... thanks!
  6. The on-ride photo taken in the station and a coaster train themed to a taxi, complete with non-working turn signals is pretty fantastic, I have to say! I did not ride it when I was there in March even though my brother tried to get me to. I was only there a very short period of time and wanted to not have a headache but the next time I visit he won't let me off that easy. I really, really wanted to get to Circus Circus to ride El Loco but the hotel is basically nowhere near the main part of the strip so didn't make it there either. Damn, what did I do?!
  7. I had no idea the train only ran about once an hour, that would explain why we sat on it and waited and waited and waited and waited before it finally began the trip up the mountain. Very cool train!
  8. Super report from your time at BGT! I've never been there and was actually talking to someone last night about getting down there in the next year or two. Between all the spectacular xmas lights and cooler temps it would seem to me that the best time to visit is towards the end of the year like you did. How much larger would you say BGT is than BGW?
  9. Reading this while I'm hungry was a mistake!! The food looked absolutely incredible and those kitchens are all spotless! How did the blue shoe washer thing work that Kristen was standing on at the beginning? I've not seen something like that before, usually if anything it's a bucket you walk through, so the shoe scrubber looks cool. The Hulk ride system pictures and explanations were really amazing and a high end comic book restaurant too? Who thinks up this stuff?! Genius! Thanks for sharing your day at IMG with us.
  10. Initially I was unclear what the big deal was when looking at your pics with the amazing lights on the tower... until I figured out that those long strings of lights were coming off the Eiffel tower! (I'm sick, cut me some slack!) I can't even imagine how insanely impressive that must have been in person. I love all things Christmas lights and am really impressed with their skating rink you mentioned as well. Really looking forward to next fall when Kings Dominion's Winterfest opens! I bet it'll be just as neat.
  11. You and Nick sure ended up with a great day at Fiesta Texas. Is it on the smaller side for a Six Flags park? I've never been. Iron Rattler looks like a ton of fun and the girl in front of you not realizing it went upside down is hilarious! The chocolate milkshakes at Johnny Rockets are my favorite snack
  12. The Finding Nemo musical is fantastic and not to be missed! The Lion King show is also good but IMO Finding Nemo is better.
  13. I'm thrilled to hear how much your mom loved Volcano!! It's one of my favorites and never gets old for me. It's fast, smooth, you shoot out a freaking volcano, and the short length doesn't bother me. The ride is a blast! (Sorry, couldn't resist) Does Outer Limits have the exact same layout as Joker's Jinx? Or is it mostly the same but kinda different? I've always had great rides on Jinx but for some reason my rides on FoF never seem as good. Perhaps it's the darkness wreaking havoc on my stupid brain making me sick? Not sure. Drop Zone is a kick ass drop tower and has been down on my last few visits so I'm happy it was working for you guys!
  14. Really looking forward to your TR, Boldy! I've never been to BGT and it's been over a decade since my last SWO trip. What did you think of Cheetah Hunt? That's the coaster I'm most interested in for some reason.
  15. What's going on in that second to last picture? Some kind of show?
  16. Very interesting Komasixx, thanks for the info on the expansion!
  17. ^Wow that is a lot of land clearing! It will be interesting to see it myself in just a couple weeks.
  18. I hear you. We rescheduled our trip multiple times and then finally this August we went down there for real. The ride was down for weeks and I was a mess but we weren't canceling again. I know DW is a great park blah blah blah but we didn't go through all this trouble to just eat Cinnamon Bread, we wanted LR as well. We arrived in Pigeon Forge in the evening, checked into our cabin and I noticed the app said LR was up with 1 train and a 90 minute wait. That's ok, we just drove 8 hours and blew a ton of money on a pet friendly cabin by the park solely so we could ride LR. We zipped over to the park, got in line, the thing went down as we approached the station. Heartbreak. It didn't open again that night or the next morning. The 2nd of our 3rd day there I saw some action over at the ride and we decided to park ourselves at the ride from opening until the thing opened up. Good thing, about 90 minutes later the queue opened up and because we were so close to the front of the line we were on in no time. Was it worth it? YES. The ride is absolutely wild though and took several rides for us to get the layout memorized so we weren't yanked around quite so much. We did lose an item on it that was in a sealed pocket. It's that crazy. DO NOT TAKE ANYTHING ON IT. No chapstick, certainly no wallets or keys even if it's in a pocket and I wouldn't even take chances with a zippered pocket. Good luck if you wear a watch, seriously. They have bins in the station and they'll put everything over there for you. Anyway what I'm getting at is if you're going for LR then make that the focus of your trip to DW. Don't chance the ride going down or not even opening on another day because you don't feel like waiting in line, especially since you've been trying to get on it for 2 years. You'd be kicking yourself. The rest of the rides are easy to get on and you'll have plenty of time for them whether or not you spend the first night in line for LR. Also note: the train is awesome and the cinnamon bread seriously lives up to the hype.
  19. Great report Adam! I haven't been to see ICE! at the Gaylord National Harbor in several years. This year they are doing Rudolph so I'm definitely going to go. That Mike's cold cocoa looks delicious and totally up my alley! I don't recall anything like that at the DC Gaylord event.
  20. Can't help you with the trolley but regarding LR, I would make a beeline for it as soon as you get into the park. You want to get on it, right? Then make it happen even if it means standing in line. If you've been on it before then I'd still say go right to it. To get there - after you enter the turnstiles at the entrance go right at that huge DW sign, and then it'll be on your right after just a couple minutes of walking. There is a big V6 or V8 Cafe right before it that has milkshakes and stuff. There are signs but I found the park slightly confusing at times and more often than not turned to the staff for directions, all of them were very helpful and some even walked me right to whatever location I was looking for. Report back on how it goes!
  21. Great and easy to understand approximate map dude, thanks for that!
  22. I'll be there then too Larry, maybe we can plan to bump into each other for a few rides!
  23. ^OMG!! That poor BMX stadium I know they said they might find a different place for it but I have no idea where they could put in a similar area. RIP stunt show!
  24. Hey man, it's been long enough since your last post teasing that KD is up next. Get your act together and give the fans what they want!
  25. I'm super excited for that first drop! It'll be nice to have something a little different.
