  1. It's nice to see a model from one of the coasters of my former home park.
  2. Wow! This is going fast. I guess Six Flags just realized they were a *little* behind schedule.
  3. What is probably going to happen is that Star Tower will be closed in August and re-open in March with the new coaster. Really, Star Tower doesn't have that much of an impact on the park as it doesn't have that high of ridership since there never is a line.
  4. ^^You're being way too optimistic, you'll be lucky if you get a Volare. The WOF Blog really hinted on the new attraction for 2013, it seems like WOF is getting something large, perhaps a WindSeeker. Also, I submitted by own question, so you might see it in a few days.
  5. Rosie O'Donnell who was astonished of how long...
  6. 8/10. I think I know what bmag might be: B&M AG (AG being like Intamin AG) Anyways, not the best username but is creative.
  7. Son of Beast just stopped the wooden coaster war all together. I doubt there will be another hyperwoodie ever built, it's just getting "too tall for a woodie".
  8. June 21st, well I'm planning to move out of the Bay Area on the 14th, so I guess I can stay here one more week for Superman. With a June 21st opening, they probably have to start testing by the 7th.
  9. It's nice to see the letters going to Cal Expo. I remember going there a few times in the mid 2000s and I was quite impressed with it. Also, why did the letters get removed? I really don't see what problem they created.
  10. Honeslty, I thought V2 was more hideous in it's old yellow/blue 186' form, now that it is "slanted" and is painted red/orange & maroon, it looks much nicer, fits in better, and is much more unique. Also, I think SFDK needs to modify the enterance to V2 or do something to attract more visitors to V2 because it never has a line. I have a Jeep Wrangler!
  11. There are 1,000 things in the world you have to be more worried about than roller coasters. They are amazingly safe. A walk in a San Francisco alley is probably 1,000x more dangerous than riding a roller coaster. From what I know, I believe SFDK had no serious incidents on their roller coasters ever. Also, 90% of incidents are caused by total morons like those 2 kids who jumped off a log on Logger's Run (CGA) or the person who climbed the fence and got struck by Top Gun (CGA).
  12. Here is a great company that makes amazing coasters that I think Outback Oasis Park (OOP) needs.
  13. I guess they re-painted the rails, that was a bit odd to why the rails weren't painted yellow in the factory. I think it would be lucky if the park opens the ride by July 1st because they really aren't constructing the coaster that quickly.
  14. I knew it would be this, and it was this. This is footage from Xtreme Roller Coasters showing Californian coasters in the early 2000s with the exception of Knott's. It really is good for "historical reference".
  15. I like how Vekoma is trying to do their best and I think many would agree they improved since the 90s. Though, I still wouldn't trust them with building a coaster unless it is a family coaster. Vekoma has a bad reputation and really they haven't built a coaster that was both reliable and amazingly fun. I hope Vekoma doesn't build a hyper coaster as it probably would be horrible, though they are leading into that direction with Battlestar Galactica and the new "Mega Looper". However, I would be pissed if Knott's announced a Vekoma hyper.
  16. This picture looks so much like driving I-15 to Vegas. Your trip reports are always very good just like your Europe trip reports.
  17. At least some progress is happening. What I'm worried about is how the trains will be uncomfortable after reading this trip report: http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=55883
  18. I recently saw Battleship. Good action, bad acting. The actors acted a bit goofy and I'm not a fan of Taylor Kitsch. After just seeing the Avengers the week before, Battleship was a bit let down. I actually enjoyed the Three Stooges (movie) better than Battleship.
  19. I'm hoping that they are going to make the coaster look good with some track having yellow rails and some track having none because it looks very strange.
  20. I'm going to SFDK in about 3 weeks. Hopefully, Superman will be open but I really doubt it.
  21. Seriously, people are this dumb. If DT is replaced by another coaster or ride, it probably will be better. Hopefully, a GCI coaster will be built there as many have speculated.
  22. ^^^ That shirt has Nitro in the background. Seriously, how does CF make shirts with a competitor's coaster in the background?
  23. The colors look so good on this coaster. I had my doubts about these colors at the beginning as it could've ended up looking really ugly, but these pictures well exceeded my expectations.
  24. What gender is Peppermint Patty? Seriously, has this dude been living under a rock? Even my young nieces clueless about the Peanuts would have figured all of that one out (being that Snoopy is Charlie Brown's dog, and that Snoopy is male). I doubt this person knows that Tweety is male.
  25. Found on TPR's amazing Skyrush POV. Really, I don't like how people compare rides just by one element they share. Fahrenheit & Maverick are two extremely different rides and both have very different budgets. Also, I don't know how they get their "2 minute roller coasters" as the duration can be measured in different ways.
