  1. I honestly think that facing forward is much better. Also, isn't the accelerating G-forces a bit strong that your upper body would go forward painfully during the launch because of lab bars only?
  2. I'd say that each launch is $30 MINIMUM. They are very expensive, some parks aren't allowed to build launch coasters because of the immense power usage.
  3. I think Flight of Fear's building is MUCH bigger than a McDonald's PlayPlace. I don't know what playplaces you have been to, but they're not extremely large.
  4. These people are BREEDING with each other and creating a new generation of absolute idiots. We really need to go to drastic measures to stop this, like, now. Stuff them in the Six Flags mandatory ride-lockers, they're a loose article.
  5. That's definitely not the case at SFDK. When they got Lo-Q they modified most the entrances and hired attendants to merge Flash Pass users into the normal queue. Before then they did just let everyone skip the line, but now everyone kind of caught on that that was a bad idea. I agree it's useful on busy days, but I just don't see a significant ROI when the majority of the days probably won't see a lot of sales. Maybe when the park starts adding some more major rides again and attendance returns to what it was 10 to 12 years ago, then it will be useful. On the subject of Vortex, it's really not a bad coaster, just short and could use some serious train work. I've had some spectacular rides on it and some pretty awful ones as well, it really depends on the condition of the train. When the train is locked in and running well, that is a kick A$$ little ride. I agree, I have really good rides on Vortex. The problem is it could be a good or bad ride. I tend to stick my head forward to try to relieve the headbanging. I think that B&M really needs to release new stand-up trains to replace the ones right now, and they can make some money on selling it to the parks that have horrible stand-up trains, like Vekoma's new trains.
  6. I'll ride the back of Roar when I go to SFDK on 3/31.
  7. ^ Isn't a Northern Californian < Is a Northern Californian v Is a Northern Californian that NEEDS to go on Flight Deck because I do not know how you're a NorCal coaster enthusiast when you never have ridden Flight Deck and you need to purchase your CGA tickets today... (Seriously, it's an amazing coaster that you're missing out on)
  8. ...Chuck Norris came and stopped WWIII...
  9. It depends what you put the bowtie on. Have you ever went on a vacation and went to a few theme parks and got really mad because they all have Boomerangs?
  10. No broken bones yet.
  11. With Ouimet around I can see many parks getting Vekoma Mine Trains. Kidding aside, I think if KD is getting a coaster in 2013/2014, something like a Gerstlauer Euro-Fighter would be good enough for the park and if they really wanted a massive coaster, they can build the "Super-Euro-Fighter" like Takabisha.
  12. I always count the last few hills being pretty rough and bangs you around and you can start hearing the train rattle. Also, how is the back seat for Roar? I only rode the front because I fear the back will be very rough.
  13. ^I saw the park update. It shows Roar had re-tracking and did they re-track the ending of the ride before the brakes? That always seems like the roughest part of the ride.
  14. It's funny that every year, a coaster in Northern California is removed. 2010 - Invertigo 2011 - Pandemonium (Yes, it was removed in 2012, but it was more in the 2011 season) 2012 - Hurricane I think the two most likely coasters to take its place are a Maurer Spinner or a S&S El Loco. Also, I could see the Hurricane name staying as the recent additions to Santa Cruz have been re-makes of rides (Haunted Castle, Freefall, Crazy Surf).
  15. It is still rumored. I think that moving it to SFM is a wise decision as Six Flags would be lucky if they would sell Pandemonium for over $1 million.
  16. I don't know if you guys know, but Hurricane is listed on Ital and they're only asking for $500,000! http://www.italintl.com/detail_page.php?record_id=1605
  17. ...destroyed all the Batman clones, he then...
  18. ^ Loves Flight Deck (CGA) < Loves Flight Deck (CGA) v Hates Flight Deck (CGA)
  19. Taxi Jam (CGA) My first coaster
  20. I live 25 miles from the Boardwalk and the weather now is just windy and partly cloudy, so they should be able to fix this as I don't see rain coming soon at the moment.
  21. I think this WindSeeker has one of the best locations of all of them. It's just really nice with all those coasters next to it and the atmosphere in that area.
  22. ^If Pandemonium is going to SFM, it'll probably open in 2013. Look at Invertigo, it took a whole year to set up that ride. Even though, Pandemonium is much smaller than Invertigo, it still will take awhile to set it up.
  23. I like the roar of it. The only problem is the air-time hills definitely look like floater as it goes over the top pretty slowly. It's just going to be like an over-sized hyper, nothing really special. Also, it looks like there's some force to that barrel roll turn.
  24. The current staircases for the Grizzly seemed fine.
