  1. GP always misspell Griffon as "Griffin". At least it seems they're using spell check.
  2. I agree the visual scans look stupid but they are necessary to look if anyone is in "danger" and remember we're in sue-happy USA!
  3. The Tornado slide can be built north of Castaway Creek and the "Manteca slides" in that open area in between Flight Deck & Boomerang Bay.
  4. What happened to the Joker's left hand? That shows SFA quality.
  5. I think the height will be fine as it would be only 20' higher than the Technic Coaster. For space, the ride's footprint is only 44' x 31' and the "flight path diameter" is 98'. I think that the ride can be squeezed in somewhere as it is only a flat ride, it doesn't take much space. I think if they moved Flight Squadron to the Lion's Gate Bridge area that you mentioned and to place the Sky Fly there. I don't think Flying Ninjago would be a suitable theme in that location as the only area of the park I can see it suited in is near Techic Coaster. There's no space left readily accessible over by Technic. Most of that is backstage stuff that's there to stay. The issue is more finding a place without disturbing the flow of the park. Yes, the SkyFlyer could be placed in a several locations. The location I suggested is the most logical if they were to apply a Ninjago Theme. Seeing as it is the most popular Lego Brand at the moment, an attraction based on it makes sense. It wouldn't fit in the atmosphere of Fun Town. Fun Town has a small, quaint feel to it that would be disturbed by a Sky flyer. In terms of minimal park impact during construction and space constraints to the rather large nature of the ride, the location above the waterfall and Lion's Gate Bridge makes sense. In all honesty I can see theme doing a similar expansion as Legoland Germany and expand Miniland over the Lion's Gate Bridge and create a mini Ninjago area with the Sky Flyer and a Miniland area. A while back, right around the time Nemisis Sub Terra was opening I had the idea of theming an indoor drop tower to Ninjago and calling it "Dojo Drop". Riders would enter a "Dojo" and learn to "master the four elements" (the ride itself). Not sure if Legoland has that kind of cash to spend on their next big park expansion (which SHOULD happen once the hotel opens?). Still having a Ninjago area is not that far fetched. Also, on the park map on the Legoland website, there's a "glitch" where 2 Dune Raiders show up. The one on the right is the glitch which seems to be a possible location for the Sky Fly. Also, the Sky Fly can go to Pirate Shores as it seems like there's a bit more of land still there.
  6. I've mentioned before in this thread that they could be getting a SkyFlyer. However...it's not looking too hopeful. Legoland Deutschland already opened their SkyFlyer last month and I had the pleasure of viewing several in depth videos of the attraction. There are two main issues that make an installation less likely: Height: At it's peak, Ninjago is around 70 feet tall...it would the tallest of any attraction at Legoland CA is it were built here. There's a very low height variance the park has to work with due to the Palomar Airport less than a mile away. Space: The other issue with the ride system is that in addition to the space needed for the base of the ride, there also needs to be clearance all around the ride because of the spinning arm's length. Both of these issues would affect where they could place this ride in the park, however the location I think would work best would be in the hardly traveled area across the Lion's Gate Bridge where the entrance to Sky Cruiser used to be. The issue with this location would be whether or not it would conflict with the Sky Cruiser or Kid Power Tower. That area has been dead for years and really needs something, I think the height will be fine as it would be only 20' higher than the Technic Coaster.
  7. Skyrush looks much better with those catwalks on, I really like catwalks on both sides. Also, the turn over the station of the Comet is interesting. I also think, as many others think, that if this was a giga, it would just be too much for HP.
  8. I have a "dogtag" of Top Gun (CGA) bought in 1993 (opening year). I have some park maps from across the world. I feel jealous to those who have the Invertigo wheel.
  9. I know it's kind of early to speculate 2013 rides, though I think it might be Flying Ninjago, a Gerstlauer Sky Fly. This is based off of what they're building in Legoland Duetschland and I hope they build it here in LLC.
  10. Well, the news article from a few months ago stating Cedar Fair is keeping CGA said there will be a roller coaster and a water slide. The roller coaster will be the GCI coaster and the water slide should also be built in 2013. I hope it will be a ProSlide Tornado.
  11. RCDB lists X-Flight as 55 mph, and with a height of 120', I think that is the correct speed of the coaster.
  12. All of the coasters were running when the park opened except for Kingda Ka. Kingda Ka started testing around 11:30 or so. Has anyone else noticed this shirt in the gift shop? Why is that many parks have Incredible Hulk silhoulletes. In CGA, you can see a red Incredible Hulk silhoullette, I remember finding it next to the restrooms near Barney Oldfield.
  13. That reminds me of a ride operator on Medusa (SFDK) who said it had sand-filled track when I said it had sand-filled supports. Seriously, how can you put sand in track?
  14. I just abbrievate the company's name on CBR, the first 3 initials, it is much easier to know of the company when referred to that.
  15. That heartline roll looks amazing, the thick spine looks interesting and seems like it got a lot of inspiration from Maurer Sohne.
  16. I was a CGA season pass-holder in 2007, 2009, 2010, & 2011 with 2008 left out because of the recession. In 2012, I did not get a CGA season pass, but a SFDK season pass because of S:UF and that I wanted to try out an amusement park with more massive roller coasters. I will get around in sending the letter soon.
  17. Why is the most populated city in Europe the worst location? I realize it is distant from many other major cities, but it appears to be undeserved in the area of amusement parks and the economy is relatively stable and growing (not as bad as Portugal, Spain, Greece) I think that Moscow is a really good location, also Legoland is building a park in Malaysia & Disney is building a park in Shanghai, and I count those two places as much worse than Moscow with all the poverty and the government there.
  18. From the concept art of the whole train posted a few pages back, it looks really nice and the front of the train reminds me of TTD's dragster front.
  19. I'm expecting to go to SFDK next week.
  20. Wow! That's sad. Well, you were right, not many Westerners realized that. Well, with a "news flash" from Larry, I think Russia really needs this, and that country is massive in not only area, but in population and it really never had any amusement parks that enthusiasts ever talked about.
  21. So, it depends on what countries you're going to, so I'm going to group the best amusement parks per country. I never visited these places and this is solely on reviews and looking at Theme Park Review trip reports: UK: High Priority: -Alton Towers -Thorpe Park Medium Priority: -Chessington -Pleasure Beach Blackpool France: High Priority: -Disneyland Paris -Parc Asterix Germany: High Priority: -Europa Park -Holiday Park (because of Expedition GeForce) Medium Priority: -Phantasialand -Heide Park Italy: High Priority: -Mirabilandia Medium Priority: -Rainbow MagicLand Spain: High Priority: -Port Aventura -Parque Warner Madrid (small waits, pretty good coaster collection) Medium Priority: -Parque de Attraciones de Madrid -Parque de Attraciones de Zarazoga -Terra Mitica Denmark: High Priority: -Tivoli Gardens -Legoland Billund (first legoland!) Sweden: High Priority: -Grona Lund -Liseberg Netherlands: High Priority: -Toverland -Walibi Holland Belgium: High Priority: -Walibi Belgium Finland: High Priority: -Linnanmaki I really hope this helps, and this is my opinion of looking at trip reports, reviews, etc. Of course, I probably left out some good theme parks, though this is off from the top of my head with some help from RCDB.
  22. I don't know... Maybe if they did what Dudley Do-Right's RipSaw Falls did and add a speed hill before the splashdown, that would be intense. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ It seems they're trying to make it a family coaster, so it's not supposed to be very thrilling, but it still will be a fun ride.
  23. Nemesis: Sub Terra, a dissapointment = Not a shocker. At least SW7 seems like it will be thrilling.
  24. Those were some amazing displays in the Master Builder Competition. Where did they put those displays that are usually on the Master Builder shop rooftop, like the lego Thinker and lego art?
  25. Apocalypse seems MUCH better with black supports. The old Iron Wolf support-color really made the coaster ugly and it seemed like that it shouldn't be the right color.
