Monsters Inc Disneyland
805Andrew replied to outbackjack's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I've been on it in the past but I skipped it on my last DCA visit last September. It is a very low key ride there, nothing special, and everyone walking by it is on their way to Tower of Terror (myself included). I would compare it to a Fantasyland dark ride at Disneyland like Snow White's Scary Adventures or Mr Toad's Wild Ride. It is kinda like Roger Rabbit without the spinning, so not nearly as fun. I wouldn't wait more than 10-15 minutes to ride it. -
Yes! Huracan Condor is EASILY the best drop ride on the planet imo. If SFMM built one of those with that level of theming I would lose my mind. One of the few rides that can actually garner the kind of attention any coaster could. And if they put it on the top of the mountain by Superman that would make it extra awesome

Tomorrow morning I have to drive my parents to San Jose Airport for a 7:30 AM flight to Hawaii so I'm going to Raging Waters San Jose during the day and then to Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk before heading back home to SLO County. SCBB is doing 1907 nights with $1 rides, sodas, hot dogs, and cotton candy so I'm stoked about that. The last time I went to the Boardwalk was in 2005, when their Double Shot drop ride was brand new. I of course will be getting at least a couple of rides on Giant Dipper it will be my first coaster ride of 2011 )and I may get that kiddie coaster credit (if they let me on)... but what rides have been added in recent years (since 2006) that are worth riding? I like thrill rides and any unique rides in general, I don't care for kiddie carnival rides. Anyways I'm looking forward to my first amusement park and my second water park of the year, and I'll post a photo TR within a few days.

Indiana Beach looks like an awesome little park, especially the Lost Coaster of Superstition Mountain. Props to the UC Irvine shirt, that's my dad's alma mater and I lived on the UCI campus when I was a little kid (1980s). -
^That sucks. Had you known, you would have been better off taking surface streets.

^Great band! I have 311's "Sunset in July" playing in my head right now.

That is a very good time to go. All of my trips, including the one in a couple of weeks have been in August and I easily was able to go on all of the rides I wanted including some re-rides. The best time in August to go is when SoCal schools are back in session, it's even better the first week they go back. I went on a weekday last August (it was pretty crowded) and missed the start of LA County schools by 2 days. If only I'd had know I would have gone 2 days later.

ANAHEIM firefighters rescued 23 stranded riders from a rollercoaster in the Disneyland Resort overnight after a backpack fell from one of the cars, leading to the ride being shut down. Nobody was injured in the incident, which occurred on the California Screamin' ride at about 6.30pm local time, the Los Angeles Times reported, citing a statement from resort spokeswoman Suzi Brown. Ms Brown told the Orange County Register the backpack fell out of a ride vehicle and landed on the track, which caused the other cars to automatically stop. It took firefighters about an hour to remove the people from one of the vehicles stuck on the track, she said. The ride, which stretches over more than 1.6km, was expected to re-open today Maybe its time for the fluffy bunnies at California Screamin ...of course they would be like ones at Mummy at USH, free for up to two hours

You are comparing some of the top ski resorts in the USA to indoor skiing IN THE MIDDLE OF THE DESERT!!! I mean, you're right, I went down that slope before ever knowing it was supposed to be a Black Diamond, and it's pretty tame, but again... IT'S IN THE MIDDLE OF THE DESERT!!! --Robb I'm comparing it to the places I've been too this year I guess I could also compare it to China Peak or Dodge Ridge, but most people outside of California have never heard of those places. I still think Ski Dubai is a marvel of engineering and I would definitely go there if I was in Dubai. A place like this would be great in Phoenix or somewhere in Texas. -

I love that suspended monorail. I heard they have quite a few of those in Japan. Anyone ride any? -

This hotel was featured on Undercover Boss, the Choice Hotels episode. It was pretty run down and dated on the episode, hopefully with the exposure it got improvements were made to it. -

I'll have to save up for the Japan 2013 trip -
I'm going to be in San Jose this Monday, July 25 and will be going to Raging Waters. Since a lot of people on this thread live in the Bay Area does anyone know where I can get discount tickets or coupons for Raging Waters San Jose? (Costco, Safeway, McD's, BK, Carl's Jr, etc). I checked online and it is the same price as their gate $33 (can I get a better deal than this?). Any help would be great. I'm also going to be in San Jose 10 days later and will be doing CGA. $36.99 for a ticket online on CGA's website, are there also coupons for CGA at local supermarkets, fast food places, etc? Any Bay Area input would be greatly appreciated

The only thing Shapiro should have done to it was decorate/cover up/remove the parking lot below it. Maybe theme the ride to a carnival theme since its in Colossus County Fair. The ride itself is not rough at all in my opinion. I'll take the hard to find, bad location and a short line to ride over a great location and long line, thank you very much.
