I think the person was suggesting an idea for when Montezooma's Revenge reaches the end of its life cycle or can't be maintained due to lack of parts, etc. While a nice coaster, I would completely disagree with your statement calling it one of the best coasters in CA. I really don't have any complaints about Knott's building a large coaster, if they build one. This park needs something new, and as long as it's fun I won't care what they decide to add to the park. Exactly, thanks. I meant that if/when it the current launch system ever falls into disrepair or becomes a maintenance issue, there would be a fairly simple way of updating it rather than replacing it with something new. Hopefully MR's launch system will be easy to maintain and have minimal problems for years to come, but even if not, there's no reason the ride would need to be removed.

Lol, I just spent about ten minutes doing the same thing and couldn't find a way to make it fit. I don't think it could fit there after all unless maybe they removed Johnny Rockets and the Crazy Legs. I don't see it happening. The only realistic place I can see Medusa going would be where La Vibora is now. I wouldn't hate that, actually (as long as it got a Spanish sort of theme). -

I think Medusa could probably fit there. I've been wondering that myself. I could be way wrong, but if that was the planned 2013 addition they're teasing, wouldn't they have already had to have started clearing the area? Anyway, I hope Medusa won't be ending up SFOT, or at least not in that spot. -
I'm thinking this is gonna be another SkyScreamer. The way they were pointing up in the air, the word "effects" in the picture (the ride might have a lighting package), and the fact that several other parks are rumored to be getting the same. I don't think the park would hype up new fireworks show or something the way they're hyping this up. But who knows.

Why in the world would Cedar Fair relocate a nearly 30-year-old coaster that was built by a manufacture who is no longer in business (mainly because of a disastrous ride they built for the very park in question) especially when the ride isn't well-received and has fairly low capacity? Nothing about that plan would make any kind of sense. I guess it could happen. They did relocate Demon Drop, after all. But I just don't see that happening. Ever. Anyway, as far as Montezooma's Revenge goes, I wonder how costly it would be to have Gerstlauer come in and replace the existing launch mechanisms with a new LSM system. They could also replace the trains with their new "Schwarzkopf" trains a la Sooperdooperlooper.

^^ You have to remember that those little teases on their Facebook are designed for the local GP. Most of them probably haven't been to SFFT or the Pleasure Pier, and wouldn't make the connection even if they had. A lot of them hardly know the distinction between a roller coaster and a non-coaster thrill ride. -

While getting a 23-year-old Vekoma Boomerang is lame and embarrassing, I have to agree with the folks who are looking at this in a positive light. I wouldn't be surprised if the park has plans for something bigger in 2014, and this is just an addition to "tide the park over" until then. SFNE got that dumpy little wild mouse, but then followed it up with a GIB a year later (yes, I know it was used, but it's still pretty major), and the world's tallest StarFlyer the year after that. Anyway, as cheapy/cheesy as SFNE's wild mouse is, they themed it up fairly nicely and made it fit in well. I can only hope they will do the same with Flashcrap and give it the newer generation Vekoma trains. -

"Dire" might be a little dramatic, but I agree. SFOG and SFNE both lack a launched coaster experience, and if The Flash movie happens anytime soon, I'd love to see that theme used in those two parks! I can't imagine any circumstance where a new launch coaster would be making its way to SFOT. -

^I didn't see it. It was not a total flop, but it didn't perform at the box office nearly as well as they had expected. The studio is still saying, however, that plans for a sequel are alive. I could see a Green Lantern theme applying well to a Wing Rider or Euro Fighter, but I can't imagine them using that unless it coincided with another film release. What I'd really love to see produced is a live action The Flash movie, with some Six Flags rides themed accordingly, but that would make more sense for a launched coaster, which I don't see SFOT needing or getting. -

There's a THIRD Batman clone in San Antonio I don't know about?! Anyway, since people are speculating/daydreaming about future SFOT additions, I'll share my SFOT fantasy. I think it would be cool to see the entire Chute Out/Flashback/bumper cars/shopping center area incorporated into Gotham City and turned into a full-fledged DC Superheroes Universe (as has been rumored on Screamscape). Things I think would be good to see in said area would include some kind of dark ride or splash battle with an Arkham Asylum theme, maybe a new flat or two, the rumored sky screamer, perhaps with some kind of Justice League Watch Tower theme, and a roller coaster. A Wing Rider would be awesome and doesn't seem beyond the realm of possibility. Not sure how they would theme that. If the Green Lantern sequel does end up being produced, I could see Green Lantern tie-in working with a Wing Rider. I also thing a Euro Fighter would be cool. I know this would be a lot to ask though! Lol. -
Good question! I won't complain if NRAT goes the inversion route, but if I had my druthers, it would be more airtime-centric. SFFT has PLENTY of inversions. Not so much on the airtime. I also kinda hope they come with a name other than "New Rattler". I get that that's exactly what it will be when it opens, but what about when it's 10 of 15 years old? Will it revert back to just being called "Rattler"? Lol. Same goes for NTAG. (Speaking of which, I'm still not really sure where the 'A' in "NTAG" comes from...) End rant.
-
^ I was wondering that myself. I wouldn't mind that if it had some good speed and forces going through it. But I wouldn't be surprised to see no helix returning up there. I hope they do announce some details! With NTAG, we didn't really know what they were doing and what the layout was until they actually built the thing. I guess it made for several exciting moments as construction updates appeared though.

I don't live anywhere near SFStL, so it's really of no consequence to me, but I think for Six Flags to send a 23-year-old Vekoma Boomerang to a park that hasn't seen a whole lot in the way of large capital investments in the past decade, and try to pass it off as a new addition, would be a huge slap in the face to the park. Just saying! But it sounds like the rumors aren't going to pan out luckily. -

That park in Russia is actually part of the Olympic Village for the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi. They're building a small amusement park there as part of the event. Pretty cool, huh? -
^ It's awesome that you're so driven, and there's nothing wrong with being a little competitive, but you shouldn't judge your own success byhow others perceive you or by what others have done. Also, you certainly shouldn't feel inadequate in comparison with your fellow valedictorians. Just think how inadequate the entire rest of your graduating class probably feels in comparison with you!

All the songs on Fiona Apple's new album The Idler Wheel..., particularly "Every Single Night" and "Werewolf". God, she's amazing.

^^ I don't think the "huh?" is confusion over an amputee still being able to write. It's over the contradiciton between one sentence stating that the man has NO HANDS, followed by a quote saying that the man can write with his HAND. Does he have a lack of hands or not? Lol. I missed that when I first read it as well.
