Tokyo Disney Resort Discussion Thread
Bucket replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The Tokyo Disney Resort just opened their newest hotel and it is absolutely stunning! I know where I want to stay the next time I visit TDR! One final pic, the pool area. One of the restaurants One of the restaurants A suite Two pictures of a deluxe room - the same, with two different colours Two pictures of a deluxe room - the same, with two different colours. The gorgeous lobby. The entrance and courtyard. -
^I also loved Pan's Labyrinth! However, I was completely shocked by how violent the film was. All of my friends who had seen the movie, told me it was like a Alice and Wonderland type of story. But then Sergi López, who plays Captain Vidal in the film starts to stab this guy's face numerous times! Excellent story, cinematography and acting... can't wait to see more of Guillermo del Toro's work.

What park have you been to the most?
Bucket replied to Coasters 4 ever's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Europa Park I've had a season pass there since I was a child and I go every summer with my family. -
Thank you everyone for your kind words. It's quite difficult to go through this, and it's comforting to know that people care. Yesterday was his funeral, and unfortunately I could not make it because I am in New Hampshire. It was so hard, because his girlfriend called me and was absolutely devastated with the entire thing. She was so good to him after the car accident and stayed with him the entire time he was paralyzed. I couldn't do or say anything to make her feel better and that was the hardest part. I know that Tobias is in a better place now, but I wish that I could just see his face and laugh with him for the last time. Me and Tobias in Vienna, before the car accident.

I'm usually able to tell whether or not a guy is gay. For me, it's all about the mannerisms. The way a guy talks and expresses himself gives it away for me instantly. Men (heterosexual and homosexual) tend to have a sub-conscious feeling whether a guy is gay or not. For example, when I first came to the States, none of my female roommates thought that I was gay, just European (which still boggles my mind why they associate European with gay!) but my guy roommates knew straight away even though I don't act 'typically' gay.

Roller coasters and body trembling

Does trembling in pain count? Dodonpa at Fuji-Q. Fun but ouch! The ejector air from the hill really hurt my legs. -

But that's the thing... every time I think about it, I get extremely sad. You're right, I don't want to be disrespectful to him but even thinking about the good times together that we all had hurts.

^^I hate that Hollywood is making a remake of a film that came out less than one year ago! 'Quarantine' will be scary to Americans because everything was stolen from [REC]. What's worse is, 'Quarantine' is a shot-by-shot copy of [REC]. Absolutely no originality was used to produce this generic remake. Isn't the point of a remake to improve the original or at least try to? Remember what happened with the last shot-by-shot remake? (The Eye, Psycho... both dreadful, dreadful remakes that embarrass the originals) Why doesn't Hollywood just release the Spanish version instead of making this pointless movie? Oh, I know why -- $$$ Just compare the two trailers, and you'll see what I mean... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jafs5OZmC5c to the remake!

Really? Another one?

A good friend of mine recently passed away. He was in a car accident about a year ago, and was paralyzed from the waist down. Although he couldn't walk, his mind and his thoughts were still clear, and he was pretty much still the same person. Unfortunately, he slipped without warning into a coma three days ago and he died peacefully on July 3, 2008 at around 15:24. I was extremely close with him, and he was almost like a brother to me. When I was accepted into university in the States, I decided to take the opportunity and leave Germany. I remember contemplating whether or not I should have gone, since my friend's health wasn't very good at the time, but my parents convinced me into going. I said "goodbye" to him about 5 months ago, but if I'd had known that would be the last time I would see him, I would have done it differently. I know that he's in a better place now, but the pain just doesn't seem to stop. Of course, it takes time to get over a loved one's passing... but as of now, myself and all of his friends who were close with him can't stop grieving, and it is so hard. It's almost like a nightmare in which you can't wake. Has anyone ever had to deal with the death of a loved one? If so, how did you cope with it? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. R.I.P -- Tobias Zimmermann (December 12, 1986 - July 3, 2008)

I recently came across this and thought I'd share it. I found it to be quite interesting... a close look inside the 'gay' brain. Anyone read this before?

Anyone watch the finale for the Eurocup? Germany vs. Spain Sad, Germany lost 0 to 1. Although Spain is a pretty good team, I had high hopes for Germany and I really wanted us to win, since it is the first time Germans have actually been patriotic about their country since WWII. Well, I guess second place isn't too bad but still...

??? Last I checked, gas prices were 4 dollars. Hm, at this rate... Americans will have to be paying as much as Europeans do for gas...

Agreed. There is a reason why she is the star of a show called "My Life on the D-List" Ugh, and her voice. I don't understand why gay guys seem to like her...?

Germany won against Portugal yesterday and now they are officially in the semi-finals for the Euro Cup 2008!

^From the Alive 2007 album? Great remix!

Even the most liberal, heterosexual parents - dads especially - take pride when their kids follow culturally ingrained gender roles, and when kids don't, things feel strange. A friend of mine came out to his parents (who are surprisingly socially liberal) when he was 16, and his parents are only now (he is 23) getting used to the fact that he is gay. There is still a bit of tension in the air whenever his boyfriend is mentioned, but it was much better than it was before when he first came out of the closet. You said earlier, that your mother was quite religious... so it shouldn't come as a surprise with her acting the way she does. In your mother's defense, I'm sure she still loves you very dearly, but is just having a hard time adjusting to the fact that you do not fit the 'heterosexual' mold that she probably envisions for you. You just need to give it time. I'm sure she'll come around eventually.

WOW! That's how I always imagined Two/Face to look like! Tommy Lee Jones as Two/Face was a joke (in terms of aesthetic makeup and acting) and I'm pretty optimistic that Aaron Eckhart will do a much better job! I'm getting more and more excited with each new picture/trailer about the upcoming Batman film. I'm so glad they are re-inventing the whole franchise. Batman Begins was probably the best Batman movie made and from the looks of this new one, it'll be as good (if not better) than the original film. I can't wait for the Dark Knight! I'll be there opening day!

From what you said about your parents, I can totally understand why you would feel like coming out at such a young age was a bad idea. On the other hand though, take comfort in knowing that less than a handful of gay teens actually have the courage to come out during middle/high school, so you should be really proud of yourself. That is an achievement in itself! It might suck now to be living with people who just do not understand you, but know that there is so much out there once you become independent from parental control! The time will come sooner than you think! =]
