  1. To me, The Deja Vu was the coaster that always deluded me from riding it. When Six Flags over Georgia had theirs, the ride always seems to be down whenever I visited the park. So I had no tears when they took that overpriced scape heap out of their park, but I was still upset that I may never get to ride it. 2010 - I go to Six Flags Magic Mountain and rode Deja Vu twice in a row. Now I can die happy. This season, I'm planning to go to Six Flags New England and I'm hoping that Goliath would be up and running at least on one of the two days I'm planning to visit. I want revenge from the last time I visited Six Flags New England in 2001 ( I only had a one day window, a few rides -including Superman - wasn't running, and a terrible thunderstorm forced me to leave the park and head back to the motel ), and you can bet that cold dish will be oh so sweet this year ( it's a shame that they don't have 'Nightwing' anymore. That was some ride!), especially if I get to ride Goliath again and again. This is me, after two fun-filled days at Six Flags New England. "Having you back in bed with your head upon me would be 'oh so sweet' to me!"
  2. In a recent post, vacoaster09 asked: Even though I'm not RaptorBoy, I think I can answer your question. The best ride crews - Probably the ones that run Roar and the Wild One and almost all of the flat rides. The worst ride crews - The ones that run Mind Eraser, Batwing, and Superman : Ride of Steel. The crew always take too long to dispatch their trains. (singing) "Oh where, oh where is your head to lie down/ Oh where, oh where can it be?"
  3. A season pass for dining? Now why didn't someone think of that one sooner? Knowing how much food cost inside an amusement park, this would be ideal for those that visit the park a lot. I can see lots of people purchasing this and licking their lips in anticipation. If this is successful, I'm sure the other Six Flags parks would follow suit ( especially me and the Crazy Horse Saloon at Six Flags America). "Big deal. Now if the park could offer a season pass for sleeping, now that would be ideal!"
  4. As for me ( and another friend of mine), we didn't see anyone get married on a coaster, but we did see a marriage procession through the park. We were standing in line at the Grand Prix bumper cars in Kennywood when the bride and groom were riding through the park on one of Kennywood's golf carts. When we all saw it, we began to cheer for the so-to-be newlyweds. I don't know whether or not this couple got married on a coaster, but if they did, I'm sure it would have been the Phantom's Revenge. "I wish I could marry Teddy the teddy bear because he's with me more than PLB, but I don't think that's legal in Virginia."
  5. Here's to another Water Park getting another speed slider - By the way, I know the secret of going very fast on those speed sliders: with your mat on the slide, only ride on the mat with your knees and elbows. You see, less contact on the surface means less friction, and less fiction means more speed. Also, being heavy doesn't hurt your speed either. True Story - on one of those speed sliders, I had a very bad start and everybody else was down the first hill already by the time I finally got my mat going and - believe it or leave it! - I actually crossed the finish line first! I think I said enough to move this post back on the top of the topic lists. "Why don't you do me a favor and move me to your "Do first thing first" list?"
  6. ^ Okay, guys, settle down. Let me explain myself before we cause more pages of arguements that this post doesn't need. First, I'm not going to Denver anytime soon ( maybe within a few years); and second, I never mentioned about going to Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park as a side trip. If I did go to Denver ( by airplane), I would probably plan to spend a few days in Glenwood Springs. I'm going to St. Louis and Branson, Missouri this year and I wouldn't be spending a week in St. Louis and plan just one day in Branson ( that would just be plain "nuts"), so I'm planning to drive to Branson and spend a few nights there before returning to St. Louis. So if I do go to Denver, I would drive to Glenwood Springs ( and enjoy the pretty scenery along the way), spend a few days in Glenwood Springs ( and get plenty of Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park), then drive back to Denver ( and my ticket home ). One more thing to add: Silver Dollar City also has a cavern tour as one of its attractions. It is called "Marvel Cave" I hope this explains things clearly. Now let's get on and talk more about Thunderbolt. Has the pieces arrived at the park yet? "Great explaination. Now please explain to me why you won't come to bed?"
  7. ^ An A.R.M Twister? That thing? Well, it doesn't need to twist my arm to ride that! "Knock him out for me, please . . ?
  8. Great! Yet another park coming under the spell of the Fast Pass System. I, for one, do not care for them and I think we ought to have a law banning Fast Passes. However, at $50 a pop and only in limited quanities, I'm hoping that they won't be selling many of them, thus I won't have to wait nearly forever to get a roller coaster. My feelings on waiting in the queing lines is this: "If you can't stand waiting in line to ride a ride, then you have no business being inside an amusement park, period." " Speaking of waiting, I'm still waiting for you. Don't make me wait forever!"
  9. While I'm disappointed that the Timberliner trains won't be running on Voyager, It'll still won't stop me from attending Holiday World this year. I will have four new rides to conquer: Sparkler, The Pilgrim's Plunge, The Wilderbeest, and the Mammoth, plus riding Raven, The Legend, and The Rough Riders. Mammoth looked so long, anyone wonder how long the ride will take because it doesn't look like it'll be over in seconds? "I've got a better question: anybody wonder how long he's going to posting on this site until he joins me in bed?"
  10. Very nice that they bolted the final piece into place. Now all that is lefted to do is get the station finished, set out the queing lines, put the trains on the track, and open up the ride to a kicking and screaming public that wants to send a message to Six Flags Headquarters: Do it again next season! Put in another ride ( or two, or even three) so this once bastard child of the Six Flags family can prove that this Six Flags park should be on everybody's list. And I do mean "child" because young children often gets hand-me-downs from their older siblings, and this coaster is a hand-me-down from Six Flags Great America ( we were suppose to get another hand-me-down from Astroworld years ago, instead all we got was scrapped metal - but that's water under the bridge now). But it is what this park needed and I cannot wait to go up their this summer and ride it ( you'll know it's me in the queing line; I'll be doing the kicking and screaming part). "I could be kicking and screaming for him to come back to bed, but I'm a pillow and I'm proud!"
  11. As a rider and amusement park flyer, I've seen lots of scrambler rides, plus some interesting names besides scrambler (such as Shazam! in St. Louis and the Runaway Ricksaw that once ran in Astroworld), but I never saw a scrambler ride like the one you pictured at the I-X Indoor Amusement Park and dubbed "The Twister" before. That thing looked intense and bright. Two types of attractions I didn't see in your photo trip were the dark rides ( nor even a walk-through attraction) and the bumper cars. I do know that there are portable bumper cars attraction, but I was thinking that there were also portable dark ride attractions, plus they could have set up a maze of some sort. Were those attractions there, but you didn't photographed them, or they just wasn't there. April 15 is the last day. Rats, I can't make it, but there's always next year ( and maybe visit the Rock 'N' Roll Hall of Fame and Museum for good measure)! "Somebody do a favor for me: knock him out and put him to bed."
  12. What? I'm the first one to respond to these latest bunch of photos? As my best friend and sometimes riding partner would say: "Whoawee!" Okay, as long as I'm here, I do have a few things to say: #1 - Besides seeing some coasters I wouldn't mind riding, one picture featured a ride that looked like a cross between the sky tram underneathed a monorail track. That looked like a fun-filled family attraction, but I wonder why we don't have an attraction like that? [Note - I know that a few parks have their sky ride, but it rides a cable, not a track. Is there any park that I don't know of that has an attraction like that?] #2 - Did I catch another translation error concerning the pizza place ( I mean, I heard of "Italian", but "Itarian"? Well, at least they spelled "Restaurant" correctly.)? Is that the place to get two slices of "peesas"? #3 - Oh wow, I didn't think I'll ever see a Chinese Kangaroo until I saw this post. Thanks a billion! #4 - Oh move along, I don't have anything for #4. #5 - Speaking about the bus with a bird's head on, how about going to St. Louis and ride the "Shuttle Bug"? Don't I mean the "Shuttle Bus"? Yes, but they have these buses that transport you between their sexy St. Louis Zoo to the metro, and these bus are painted like bugs. I had the upmost pleasure of riding in the Lady Bug. "While I can't send you to Japan, but if you lay your head upon mine, I can help you dream that you're there!"
  13. Holy Moly, it looks like a ton of riders and amusement park flyers got to answer this question before I had the chance. Since I'm already here, I might as well give you my answer. The Volcano is an unique ride because I haven't seen any other park that has a coaster like the Volcano. Make sure you ride this ride early as possible, no matter how much the Dominator, The Intimidator, and the Rebel Yell tempts you to ride them first. The reason is simple: The train on the Volcano can hold up to 16 riders each, while the Dominator and the Intimidator can hold 32 riders (I think the Rebel Yell could hold up to 24 per train, but I'm not sure), so in short these coaster can eat up a line very quick. But the Volcano, with its two trains, takes much longer to eat up its line, so the sooner you ride it, the better off you'll be. And if you don't mind the waiting bit, riding the Volcano at night is spectacular. That's all I have to say. "You're done? You mean, really, really mean it? Only for this post and you have other posts to add? You are a meanie!"
  14. While I'm glad that this coaster is going to have another life in another park, I'm also down that in order to ride this ride I'll have to travel to Colorado. But this sounds like a park that I could someday plan a vacation to Denver, Colorado and I'll add it to my list of "Reasons why I should go to Denver Colorado". AS for the "you ride a tram up the side of a mountain to get to the park" bit, I'm also reminded of another park in Gatlinburg, TN called "Ober Gatlinburg" that does the same thing, only that this park does not have a coaster, but it does have three water slides and an alpine slide. "You should be reminded that there is a pillow waiting for you to get off this site and get to bed!"
  15. Wow, I never did know that the I-X Indoor Amusement Park exisited until I saw this Photo TR (another reason why this site was created). In one of your pictures that featured a U-shape track and a spinning apparatus and you never seen one of them before; well, I have and there is one other that is located in Nickelodeon Universe (which I think is called "The Avatar" - I just call it "Awesome"!), Mall of America, Minnesota. It's like a giant sized Disk-O! Who knows: I might have another reason to visit Cleveland besides The Rock 'N' Roll Hall of Fame and Museum. Err. . . what dates does this indoor fair usually run? " zzzz . . . zzzz . . . zzz . . ."
  16. I just looked at those photos and I just . I did it for two reasons: that was a good looking water flume ride and there's no park in the USA that has a log flume design like that. Plus, I also love how they constructed the ride around an existing roller coaster that looks like it's a fun ride. "Relax, just lay your head upon mine and I can help you dream that you're there riding that log flume. Just one request: don't wet the bed!"
  17. Congraduations on having a new park to replace the old one you grew up with. It can be devestating when you see something you grew up and loved be suddenly gone forever, regardless if it was a ride, an amusement park, or even a water park. I'm sure this new and improved Wild Rivers Park will be better than the old park, but hopefully they would be kind to add some replicas from the old park, such as the iconic clock that the article stated and maybe even classic-type water slide that the old park once had. "It can also be devestating when there was someone's head that you used to love lying upon you, so please come back and love me again."
  18. ^ And don't forget: they also had to move the Tilt-a-Whirl ride to another place inside the park so that area can be used as the entrance for SKYRUSH. Isn't it amazing how the rides in this area of the park seem to dance around each other. So here's my dance: "Done dancing yet? Please come to bed."
  19. For the 2012 season, I plan to visit plenty of SIX FLAGS parks using a Six Flags Season Pass. I'll begin by getting that season pass at Six Flags America when they open up their doors. April and Good Friday weekend will find me at Hersheypark for their Springtime in the Park event. May and Memorial Weekend will find me in Springfield MA to do some candlepin bowling and to visit Six Flags New England. Maybe I'll visit Knoebels on the way home. June will have me take a friend with me as we visit Six Flags over Georgia. The end of July and the first of August will have me going west as I visit Camden Park near Huntington, WV; Hoilday World in Santa Claus, IN; Silver Dollar City in Branson, MA; Six Flags St. Louis; Six Flags Great America; and Indiana Beach in Monticello, IN. I would also like to visit Busch Gardens Williamsburg. "You and your park visits! One of these days, you'll be coming home from a trip and would like to lie down on me, and I'll tell you to find another bed to sleep on. [sighs] I can never do that."
  20. I always loved photo TR's from Japan to see what there rides look like and see their culture that would be normal and acceptable to them, yet strange and alienatied to us. By the way, "Happiness is worm puppy"? I believe the correct saying is "Happiness is a warm puppy". They better get that right or Charles Shultz would be rolling in his grave. "No, the correct saying is 'Happiness is a warm head resting upon me'. (sighs) They were the good old days until this website came along."
  21. During my visits to Six Flags over Texas and Six Flags St. Louis, I had the pleasure of riding Mr. Freeze, especially loving the top hat inversion. Now that the trains are going to be reversed, I feel that this will offer the riding public a new riding experience by being lauched in reverse and to facing vertical before heading back to the station. But I have the same question that rclay asked in his most recent post While I don't have the exact answer to that question, I would like to say that perhaps the lap restaints they have would do, but I think the newfangled overhead restaints (that is used for coasters such as Carowind's Carolina Cobra, Hersheypark's Storm Runner, and Six Flags Great Adventure's Kingsta Ka) would be better to hold the riders into place when they are being launched and being held vertical before the return trip. I guess we will know in time. "Speaking about restraints, I wish there was a restraint to keep a certain someone I know to stay in bed!"
  22. As for my take on having age restrictions on rides, I think it's pure balderdash! As for many rides (and we're talking about family rides such as your typical Scambler, Swings, Bumper Cars, and the Carousel), they can be fully enjoyed by the whole family. Intense roller coasters can cause some kiddies to become ( ) with fright. Then you have the haunted mazes that certain parks offer during the Halloween season that could be frightening to younger kids (not to mention to certain adults who needs to take inventory everytime they get spooked - you know making sure their glasses didn't fall off, their false teeth didn't fly out, and they didn't wet their pants). I should know about getting scared from an attraction - STORY TIME - When I was was young, I walked with my parents through a dark room that had many twists and turns. Near the end, we approached a cage that had a gorilla in. When that gorilla looked at us and growled, I screamed and ran out. It took nearly an hour for my parents to calm me down. Looking back at it now, it was probably a man dressed in a gorilla costume, but I was young back then and didn't know any better. In short, it has always been my belief that if you want to ride the ride, then ride it; and if you don't want to ride, then don't ride it. "How about a ride on me? I don't have any age restrictions."
  23. ^ Ah yes, you are correct; I did remember seeing something that did resemble a fort, but alas, it was CLOSED!!! One more thing to note in regards to Busch Gardens Williamsburg: when the park first opened its doors in 1975, it was a small park. During the years of operation, it added more and more attractions and the park got bigger and bigger. It can be said the same of other amusement parks I know; such as Six Flags America (when it was just a small park called "Wild World") and Hersheypark. Who knows, should Ghost Town in the Sky be able to get off its knees and become a very productive park, who knows how big this park could become. "Want to dream about that most perfect park? Then lay your head upon mine and it can be yours!"
  24. It's me again with my third post to this topic about the Fun Spot Action Park. To refresh your memories, on page one I wrote how amusment parks are born and on page three I wrote what will they add to the expansion and letting the speculations begin. Then I forgot about this topic until now and decided it was time for a revisit and see what was coming up for Fun Spot Action Park. All I can say is !!! We, as riders and amusment park flyers, must lend all our support for this newfangled enterprise as not only it will contain more rides and attractions (not to mention as a cheaper alternative to those other theme parks that will cost you an arm and two legs - inflation again), but Fun Spot Action Park will be helping the economy out by creating 200 new jobs. Plus, the expansion plans for the GREEN TRACK will make that track much better (when I last drove on that track, I thought the layout was too tame and lame - that was many years ago ). Looking at the artist rendition of the park expansion, didn't I see three coasters deplected? I saw the woodie and steel coaster, but I also saw what looked like a kiddie coaster. And I also saw more areas to contain spinning flat rides when I only know of two: the double decker carousel and the windseeker. Are there more rides they are going to add or what? Finally, on my last post on page three, I was asking about the two ponds: are they going to stay or will they go? By looking at the artist rendition again, I see land, but no ponds, perhaps they plan to drain all the water out, fill in the hole, and refilter the water to be used for their water park section. Add speaking about water park section, I know about the lazy river, but what other water slides will they put in? Does anybody know or is it the old "Just wait and see" bit? "I wonder if Teddy the teddy bear could use some company tonight?"
  25. Oh Boy, everybody has been talking about SKYRUSH and not a word about Hershey'sSpringtime in the Park. Perhaps it's because SKYRUSH isn't gonna be part of the event, just as the SUPERDOOPERLOOPER will be setting out this year's event as well (notice subject to change - it could be up and running). So I will be at the park to protest this infraction with the best and positive way I know how: by riding the MERRY DIP SLIDE so many times my butt will fall off. Why do that?you all might ask; after all, I'm a 44 year old 250 lb man riding a family ride that was created for people that would get sick riding a merry-go-round, and I'm suppose to be the rider and amusement park flyer. Ask me why ride the MERRY DIP SLIDEand I shall look them in the eye and reply: "Because I can!" Besides, the waiting time for this ride is non-existent and I'm sure the ride attentant could use all the business I can give them; after all, isn't that the Amusement Park way? So that the SKYRUSH and the SUPERDOOPERLOOPER won't be running, but Hersheypark got a lot of other rides that will help fill the void; who knows, if the weather is warm and sunny maybe they'll run the Coal Cracker? "Don't bother me, I'm dreaming that someone is laying their head upon me.
