  1. Promo for Verbolten. 2011 Howl-O-Scream Promo
  2. Verbolten is the confirmed name. Top speed is 53 mph.
  3. Yes, all the rides are open in October. You can do the park in one visit but keep in mind that nights can get very crowded as Howl-O-Scream draws a ton of people to the park. Your best bet would be going on a Friday or Sunday and get there early so you can ride all the rides before the Howl-O-Scream crowd starts to filter in during the early evening hours. Saturday is extremely busy in October as the park tends to reach capacity in the late afternoon.
  4. A few more photos. This is just unreal!
  5. Here's a pic of the front gates!
  6. Update from the park... Busch Gardens All of our attractions have reopened. Thank you for your patience while we inspected them after the earthquake.
  7. Kings Dominion just updated their Facebook with this: Kings Dominion Earthquake update: With guest safety in mind, all attractions have been temporarily closed. There have been no guest or employee issues related to the quake. Stay tuned for updates related to rides and attractions re-opening later today. EDIT: Kings Dominion Hurler, Dominator, flat rides and waterpark are now open. We will continue to update as the info comes in. thanks for everyone's patience
  8. The story of Apollo is derived from Greco-Roman mythology. Apollo IS the Roman name for the God of the Sun so it fits perfectly and is appropriately named for that section of the park. The Greek name for the God of the Sun is Helios.
  9. Now that B&M has entered the Giga coaster market, which parks do you think could possibly get one in the near future? And it doesn't have to be B&M. Intamin started this game so they're definitely included in this discussion, especially since they created a new breed with the addition of I305 last year. One park I can think of off the top of my head is BGT. Central Florida is a competitive market and I can easily see a Giga from either company rounding out their coaster collection. I know KBF has been mentioned as well. So I'd like to know what parks you think would get one? And please don't list a park just because you'd like to see one there. Take into consideration the market it's in and if the addition would benefit the park. Also, will we see other parks outside North America getting them?
  10. ^My money was on a Christmastown opening!
  11. Some video footage of Mach Tower with riders today.
  12. You really can't compare the price of Millennium Force to Leviathan because the price of steel was a lot cheaper back in 2000 than it is today. If MF were built today it would cost a lot more than its original price over a decade ago.
  13. I'm not really impressed with this ride but happy that B&M went over 300'! The layout looks like Intimidator 232 on steroids.
  14. Every time I hear "Leviathan" I think of the Hellraiser movies!
  15. ^The BGW Fun Card always expires on Labor Day of each year.
  16. Video of the live stream from the announcement http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vCxrdqecRNs
  17. ^I'm not placing blame on the earthquake. All I did was post what the official press release from OLC and that I saw the official attendance figures for the show after the quake hit and noticed a severe drop off.
  18. ^I'm sure there's more to the story but I do know for a fact that attendance took a severe hit after the earthquake.
  19. A result of the earthquake has led to a casualty affecting the Tokyo Disney Resort. The Oriental Land Company will be closing Cirque du Soleil's Zed at the end of the year. http://www.olc.co.jp/wpmu/wp-content/blogs.dir/7/files/2011/07/20110725_01e.pdf
  20. You might get lucky with sparse crowds as this heatwave may keep people from going. If it is busy then (as others said) you can get a Quick Queue.
  21. ^Those footers you saw are old ones from Big Bad Wolf.
  22. ^^Williamsburg to Virginia Beach can be driven in one hour with traffic permitting on the Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel which tends to get gridlocked quite a bit. Going I-664 to I-264 can be done in one hour and a half.

  25. I've witnessed this first hand myself. The GP there desperately wants a steel coaster with inversions. I've heard them mention it while waiting in line for Voyage and Legend and I've even had a discussion about it with some of them.
