The most *gasp* flat ride ever!
socalMAN123 replied to RctInfinity's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Ring of Fires and ferris wheels. Ring of Fires make me so sick, it's not even funny. I hate ferris wheels because I'm always afraid that they are going to snap off at the top and I would fall to my death. The only ferris wheel I can handle (this makes no sense) is the swinging carts on the Sun Wheel. Brent "one would think it would be scarier" Shenton 8) -

Anybody like it? -
Hey yall! Well, yesterday, I ventured out into the wilds of DLR to see what the summer crowds were like. I was also out at DLR to renew my pass. The summertime crowds weren't that bad, but moderate. First on our checklist was to go buy our passes. TIP: If you ever need to buy passes and the ticket booth lines are way long, go to guest services right by the lockers. The good thing about the guest services is if you had a pass in the past two years, they print a brand new pass with your old picture right there. So we (my sister and I) got in a super short entry line and got into Disneyland park. First order of buisness in the park, to ride Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters. I've been on it twice, but my sister hadn't. We hopped in the 25 minute wait and was soon in those little cars shooting away. I got a pretty good score, 74,400, while my sister did GREAT for her first time, her score was 24,400. After Buzz, we found ourselves wandering around Tommorowland for a while. We went ot check out Matterhorn's wait, but it wrapped all the way around the mountain. I said we should go do Splash Mountain, but my sister didn't feel like doing that right now. So we headed over to Jungle Cruise. About a 20 minute wait was pretty good for what was coming up. The monkeys with guns rule! I was in the front, but I didn't get wet. The coolest part was the pirhana attack. It looked so real. When we got off that, I told my sister that now we go do Splash Mountain. We got over there, didn't want to wait in an 85 minute line, so we headed over to the Single Riders. Only about 20 minutes. Let me tell you how sucky the logs are now. The back seat can fit two people or one. How's that for safety? Well, I got the front and was only a little damp. Next, we buzzed on over to Village Haus and shared a pizza and salad. Then we were off to DCA. As soon as we entered the park, their new parade, Block Party Bash, started. We decided to watch a little bit of it and actually, it was pretty cool. But we had to get ToT in, so we scrambled over there. A 40 minute wait, not that bad. Great ride. Awesome effects. Nice cast members. Up next was the almighty California Screamin. We got front row and had a lot of airtime. That was my 129th ride on Screamin. My sister wanted to see the parade, but by the time we got over to Disneyland, the parade had been done for an hour. So we got in line for the Matterhorn. Halfway through the line, my dad calls us saying we have to be at the drop-off area in 15 minutes. So we had to leave the line, make our way through all the people waiting for the fireworks, and then my sister spots out some candy she wants to buy my dad for Father's Day. That takes us 15 minutes just to buy three candy bars. Then we made our way out to the drop-off area. My dad wasn't mad, but we told him that we got held up by some people who refused to move. Hey yall! Tragic news for everybody: Boy, 4, dies after riding intense Disney 'Space' ride Associated Press Jun. 14, 2005 11:25 AM LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. - A 4-year-old boy died after passing out aboard Walt Disney World's "Mission: Space," a ride so intense that it has motion sickness bags and several riders have been treated for chest pain. Daudi Bamuwamye passed out Monday afternoon on the attraction, which simulates a rocket launch and trip to Mars. The Orange County Sheriff's Office said his mother carried him off the ride and employees helped her place him on a bench. Paramedics and a theme park worker tried to revive him, but he died at Celebration Hospital. advertisement The sheriff's office said the boy met the minimum 44-inch height requirement for the ride at the Epcot theme park, which uses centrifugal force to simulate twice the normal force of gravity. An autopsy was expected Tuesday to determine the cause of the boy's death. Officials said the boy from Sellersville, Pa., was on the ride with his mother, Agnes, and a sister. During the ride, the mother noticed that Daudi's body was rigid and his legs were stretched straight out. She told detectives that she thought he was frightened so she took his hand. "When the ride ended, the victim was limp and unresponsive in his seat," according to a sheriff's office report. The $100 million ride, one of Disney World's most popular, was closed after the death but was reopened Tuesday after company engineers concluded that it was operating normally. In 2003, Disney began placing motion sickness bags in the ride. During an eight-month period in 2003-04, six people over age 55 were taken to hospitals for treatment of chest pain and nausea after riding "Mission: Space," though none of them was found to have any serious problem. At that time, it was the most hospital visits for a single ride since Florida's major theme parks agreed in 2001 to report such problems to the state Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. Updated figures were not immediately available. One other death was reported at Disney World this year. A 77-year-old woman who was in poor health from diabetes and several ministrokes died in February after going on the Pirates of the Caribbean ride at the Magic Kingdom. A medical examiner's report said her death "was not unexpected." Signs warn visitors about the intensity of the "Mission: Space" ride. "For safety you should be in good health, and free from high blood pressure, heart, back or neck problems, motion sickness or other conditions that can be aggravated by this adventure," one sign on view last year said. Signs also warn pregnant women not to go on the ride. Florida's major parks are not directly regulated by the Department of Agriculture; state law exempts large, permanent amusement parks that have their own inspectors from state oversight. But the parks agreed to share safety information in 2001. Disney officials said in a statement after the boy's death that they were "providing support to the family and are doing everything we can to help them during this difficult time." ---Brent

Nice video! I was puzzled to, how often do rollbacks happen on KK? Anyway, looks like a great ride, despise the part about breaking down all the time, and if it's really worth it to make a trip out there to hit some other parks and KK. ---Brent 8)

Well, I can't really say anything, I haven't made a real video in my life, but I do have some tips. The transitions were very good in some parts, but overall, they were pretty bad. If you weren't shaking the camera so much, I would have liked it A LOT better. Anyways, nice video! Hope to see more from you! ---Brent 8) -
POV's of 2005 New coasters
socalMAN123 replied to mikejenkins1's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^^Why doesn't a camera-mounted POV work for you? I find them great. The Sequoia Adventure POV was nice, but whoever filmed that must of retired that camera. With the clumsiness that I have, I would have dropped it. ---Brent 8) -
^Very wrong!!! VWill go to a theme park in the next four months
