  1. I am a major sharks fan but with how the sharks are playing it looks like the vancouver could win the series. I wasn't at the game but I watched replays of the penalties and they were pretty weak. The hit on McGinn was clearly interference no effort to play the puck and the hit on Murrary should be a Game Misconduct with a suspension for leaving his feet. I'm sure there are some vancouver fans that think the reffing wasn't exactly fair because there has been times when I think the Sharks should be called for penalties when they aren't. With that many 5-3's it would have been amazing if vancouver didn't score. The sharks played well five on five but they need to stay out of the penalty box to win. I'm sure the vancouver fans felt the same way when McGinn hit errorhoff and rome, though McGinn got a Game Misconduct for it. I don't think it should have been a game because Rome knew that McGinn was in the zone chasing the puck and it's just common sense that McGinn would check him and he hit him in the shoulder not the numbers. The unfortunate thing was that he hit the metal part that connects the glass which made the hit worse than it was.
  2. I would love to call people out unfortunately it is against either CF policy or CGA's. All I know is that I am not allowed to do it. I think it's why most of the ride ops, including me, say we will stop the ride if the person keeps breaking the rules.
  3. When I'm ride op at rue le dodge. I try to guest relate before I open the gate about the rules. Saying the rules multiple times before the ride starts gives you a reason to stop. The only bumping you can't do is head on. The reason for this rule is the high probability for injury. No ride op wants to see a person get hurt so that's why we say it or stop the ride. What worries me the most on rue le dodge is the height. Even though ride specs say it's ok for 48 inches people to ride it always makes me nervous. They have to stretch to reach the gas pedal. I height check very well and to me I think it should be higher for safety reasons. I mean didn't they do that at the Matterhorn at Disney land for the new trains?
  4. I was relieved from Rue Le Dodge for a break by Ryan. My basic spiel is the typical one but I also add "also you must go in the direction of the arrows at all times and there is no head on bumping" What people have to remember is if you go in the direction of the arrows you won't get stuck. Instead of stopping the ride, I tell people to turn the wheel if they are stuck. Since I have warned people in the beginning about the rule of arrows and head on bumping I do have a right to stop the ride but it would only be a case if the person does it for a long period of time without clearly listening. The only time I have had to press E stop is when some GP jumped out of the car to retrieve her purse. Now I tell people that they either put it in the cubbies or put it down below and not on the seat. Another thing is after the ride ends I tell them to walk to the exit. I'm usually the rule nazi on that aspect. Just don't want people to hurt themselves. "Please walk to the exit do not run. This is for your own safety please walk to the exit. Please WALK! to the exit. DO NOT RUN! this is for your own safety. Thank you"
  5. As grim as everyone is making it sound, maybe all the negativity in this thread can spell out the doom. If you really want to keep the park the way to keep it going is to care about it. CF can't do all the work in order to invest they need money and in order to make money they need attendance. If you want it to stay make group days with friends, schools etc to make attendance go up. There is always a solution to a problem and it doesn't always have to be a solution like GL. Think about it this way what if (big what if) but what if for some reason a higher up in CF management reads this thread and see's all the negativity. It will just further the doom of the park but if we try as GP/Coaster enthusiasts want to see this park succeed then it really is up to us. Also for the stadium, unless CF found a loop hole it is an FCC regulation that an NFL team can't own a theme park as it hurts the business' around it
  6. My dad actually. He has been reading about it for the past 10 years. It's kind of like how they say the next big earthquake will happen every 30 years but never does. They said 30 years when my parents were little and 30 years now. Let's not forget also that Worlds of Fun has always been on the chopping block as well.
  7. So you are telling me CF has been activly trying to sell cga for the past 10 years when the didn't own it? Yea like I keep saying it's politics between the cities. The 49ners would already be down in Santa Clara. It's like when the Oakland a's wanted to move to San Jose.
  8. It's a good thing because it gives cedar fair and Santa Clara more time. Yea it won't dry up but if anything is learned from the hockey lockout it hurts the fans and players. Basically it's good news and even if it is built the stadium would make more problems then cga. I have said in many other posts it is the politics of the cities that is more affecting the stadium being built. Scbb has being around since the 1920s I believe so it proves that cga can survive. It brings in enough money and because invertigo is gone the money they are bringing in won't go to that maintenance nightmare of a ride.
  9. A ride like abismo at parques de attractiones might fit at cga. Also good news for CGA regarding NFL http://www.seattlepi.com/sports/article/Lockout-remains-after-appeals-court-sides-with-NFL-1382546.php
  10. Well the stadium has been in talks for 10 years. As much as people think it has to do with CGA and Santa Clara it isn't. It's the politics of SF not wanting to let go of the 49ners. If the 49ners really wanted to move to Santa Clara it would have happened already. Another opposing factor is that the Raider fans don't want it coming down there. What I think is interesting is that the office buildings that complain about the noise of CGA think the stadium is going to be quieter (supposedly). There will obviously be more events held there then just football and if that doesn't close CGA then it will just add to the noise. That's my two cents.
  11. It only takes 3 people to operate that ride, and I work there and the only reason people would be standing there would be if they are just about to clock in or clock out. So depending on what time you saw that, that is probably what happened.
  12. I miss CGA at the moment because I'm in Spain. The time difference is totally messing with me
  13. What...are you kidding? I'm shocked he would want to visit their "forgotten" park. It's only forgotten to the people that let it be forgotten. If Dick is there then obviously it's not forgotten. If you look in the later posts it seems like CF is doing something to draw in crowds.
  14. I just wish CGA would get a new coaster that will draw a lot of people in. Who knows if that will ever happen though.
  15. Just went up at the shell station: 4.23 The 76 station is 4.17 though
  16. I want to say it was around 1998. Tidal Wave got renamed Greased Lightning that season as well and got new paint. The green did look awesome back then, looked much more intimidating. Now it's got more of a less intimidating color. Maybe that was the point in repainting it????
  17. I got a pretty high tolerance for blood guts gore and I like psychological movies. To most people I know probably wont get to you but in the second alien vs predator when the alien goes into the hospital maternity ward and impregantes (sp?) the woman by making them go down her throat was way to much. Maybe because I'm a girl? I don't know but the rest of the movie was cool. Also the concept of hostel is disturbing enough to make me not want to stay at a hostel. Hostel 2 I won't even go near because I heard that they rape women in that movie.
  18. Skate Attendant at Sharks Ice at San Jose CGA ride operator Ice Hockey Ref and I open boxes at my dad's work and search for parts. The first three are my main ones.
  19. Argh! Don't say that about the sharks. Any true sharks fan knows that the past three years they have been coming out flat the first game even after playing awesome (president trophy year). Yes the Kings should be beatable but so were the Ducks. Regular season stats don't really bear any weight in the playoffs in my opinion. All teams are playing their hardest (or they should be) to win the Stanley Cup which is where the "history will be made" commercials come from.
  20. While I was working delta flyer today a GP asked me if Invertigo was gone. I had to tell them yes it was, tried to give them a full explanation but they weren't exactly getting it.
  21. Thank god, that is the only thing I noticed in that commercial is that they used invertigo at the end. I actually paused it to see and was like OMG NO WAY.
