  1. I don't consider Windseeker to be a bad ride and I think this is a great addition to the park. Carowinds needs more flats. I'm glad they have planned to put the ride away from Carolina Skytower. It really irks me when parks put big/tall attractions too close to each other (Darien Lake's Giant Wheel and Skycoaster being next to each other is one great example).
  2. 16/20 on the European quiz, which wasn't too bad. 19/20 on the U.S. quiz. The question on Gillian's Wonderland stumped me. 15/20 on the World quiz, which I was quite surprised as a lot were guesses.
  3. I think KI should get a B&M invert as its one ride that had become standard at most of the large parks and KI doesn't have one. Invertigo doesn't count as an invert. I wouldn't be disappointed in a floorless if one was to be built there. I've enjoyed my rides on Hydra, Medusa West, Medusa/Bizzaro (my favorite) and Batman Knight Flight/Dominator, which I greatly miss.
  4. First of all congrats to CW for this new addition and congrats to B&M for finally breaking the 300' height barrier. With that being said the layout sure seems to have some inspiration from Carowinds' Intimidator. Steve, I don't get it either. It's like nothing CF builds at this height will ever eclipse Millennium Force. It is odd.
  5. One thing I hope B&M has addressed is the rattle that their newer hyper trains have developed, especially now that the trains will be going faster than any other B&M train has gone before.
  6. After what seems to be a lot of time and resources spent in getting the ride to work right at Magic Mountain I think it's a bad idea to move the ride. There's no guarantee that it's going to run well at New England.
  7. Thanks for the photos. You got a lot of great shots, especially those of Nitro and Kingda Ka, which are amazing! The Great Escape looks like a very nice park and it's also nice to see it not looking like a typical Six Flags. I guess I'm going to have to visit it someday.
  8. IF this is going to be B&M's first giga, how is it going to differ from Behemoth? As much as I love B&M and their hypers, each one seems to provide a similar ride, if that makes sense.
  9. Thanks for the link. I read the story on other sites but they didn't have a link to the official news regarding the Screechin' Eagle. Very sad to see this once excellent ride gone.
  10. You did a fine job capturing Martin's. There were quite a few angles I liked. Mind Warp is an excellent and intense ride. Glad MFI was willing to install something that is a first in the U.S.
  11. It will be a clone of Starry Sky Ripper. It's the same color track. I like the colors. As some have said - glad that it's not red or even yellow for that matter. I'll take a wild guess, and I'll be proven wrong soon enough, but say it's a floorless sit down instead of a dive machine or wing coaster.
  12. Of all the RoS' out there Darien's seems like it's jinxed. Didn't the chain break just a few year's ago?
  13. The 80's half has all the cool slides, especially Ultra Twister/Awesome Aussie Twister. New, larger wave pool is all I see coming in 2012, which is something they need, but not something I would build to celebrate the park's 40th anniversary.
  14. CF, Starry Sky Ripper is the unique B&M flyer at World Joyland in China. Not only does it have a vertical loop but has some wicked looking zero-G roll in it as well. http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=52948&p=1032581&hilit=Starry+Sky+Ripper#p1032581 I think B&M is totally out of the loop, pardon the pun, by not offering a launched coaster of some kind in their portfolio. Intamin has pretty much dominated that market since Xcellerator debuted. What's so wrong with waiting for someone else to come up with something and then add their own twist to it? You don't think Intamin took the idea for their Wing Rider or Zac Spin from Arrow's 4D concept? All rides have the capability to be improved on even if it's not by the manufacturer who first introduced the idea.
  15. Maybe they are working on The Beast. The turn coming out of the shed brake was totally rebuilt this year. They need to rebuild the turn after the ravine drop and into the shed as that section is a bit rough this year.
  16. ^^It's almost too much like Maverick. I agree, though, that the surf curves are the weakest part of Sky Rocket.
  17. I thought the same thing when I saw that.
  18. When it comes to this so-called "coaster war" the parks should worry more about the quality of their coasters instead of how many you have. CP could put in two Wacky Worms and claim the title (and the CP fanboys would rush to be the first in line on opening day). Personally I think CP will be getting a wing rider after looking what's been done and being done with Raptor, The Swarm, and what could be Dollywood's new ride and taking it to a higher level just like what they've done on past additions. Nothing wrong with Intamin but I'd like to see a new Beemer at the park again.
  19. Even though I dont' ride them much anymore as I hate walking around soaked from head to toe but I've always liked Kings Island's White Water Canyon. Even though it's a hike to get to the loading platform from Rivertown I like how it seems so secluded in the woods.
  20. With the Immelman being smaller and with what appears to be a tighter radius coming out of it I can see the trim being used to at least tap the train as it goes by. Otherwise this is still one fine looking invert.
  21. ^Kings Island already has a Windseeker. My guess would be Carowinds would get the third based on the teasers coming from the park.
  22. Kings Island's Waterworks was was just remodeled and updated to Boomerang Bay not too long ago while Paramount was in charge. Soak City hasn't seen anything new since......I can't even remember when. I stand corrected. The last thing they added was the rainfortress with tipping bucket.
  23. Just out of curiosity when did Gary Slade make that comment? It sounds like this could be something very special going into Wonderland. Not to knock Raging Bull as it's my favorite steel coaster but I'd like to see Intamin try doing a similar type of hyper or giga twister just to see how they would pull that off. At least there won't be any mid-ride trims.
  24. Here's a few on my ride bucket list U.S. rides X2 Superman Krypton Coaster NTAG Shock Wave (SFoT) Montu Kumba International rides: Nemesis Dragon Khan Superman (Warner Bros. Madrid) Troy Colossus (Heide Park) Katun
  25. Mantis is usually a once a year ride but I really like it when it runs in what I call '96 mode (the way it ran when it first opened in 1996).
