  1. Hey I'll be at the park tomorrow and tweeting. If you're interested in that type of stuff: http://www.coaster101.com/2009/07/28/tweeting-on-location-great-america/ or I'm going tomorrow and Friday so hopefully I'll get some good pictures and video!
  2. 1976 We are slowly progressing on next year's addition. It's beginning to get interesting! I can't wait to share with you all what are big plans are for next year! The train has closed for the rest of the season as a portion of the track is being re-routed to make way for the new addition. The ride will also receive a new station next year. I will keep you updated. - Michael May Here is a better view of the entire area being affected by next year's addition. Much of the affected track has already been removed.
  3. I'm glad someone brought that up. While it probably won't happen in this case, it does show that public outcry can sometimes spare a ride from removal... or at least delay it. But an online petition isn't the best way to go (speaking from experience).
  4. Most likely Wednesday and maybe Thursday or Friday.
  5. Thunderhead, Evel Knievel, and Raging Bull are some of the best ones that come to my mind at the moment.
  6. 1. I'm still 17 and about to start college. 2. I had a seizure when I was 10. 3. I'm going to the University of Memphis but I'll secretly always be an Ole Miss football fan. 4. I ran a 10k in February. 5. I like mayonnaise.
  7. Great pictures - I've never really given this park much of a look before but it looks like a nice place.
  8. Hey guys today is the last day to vote: http://www.coaster101.com/vote
  9. Hey guys I apologize for the lack of updates lately. Work is picking up steadily, but I'm not sure if I will be releasing it this summer, I might wait until after my Halloween project (Project Moonshine - more details soon) so that they aren't released too close together. The basic plot of the movie is a man who is given one month to live... and is given the journey of a lifetime as he travels across the country on a Paraglider with his wife. He soon learns that he is travelling between to parallel universes and that the people he impacts on his journey could greatly alter the future.
  10. It's always scary when severe weather hits while at a park. You gotta think to yourself, "does this park have enough 'inside room' to fit every guest?".
  11. Hey guys I thought I would post this here instead of creating a new thread. I'll be in Chicago next week and I was wondering how the crowds are at the park during the week. What wait times can I expect to see?
  12. ^ Yeah, we will have to come up with a better system next year. I had no idea the turnout would be this huge. Last year we only had a handful of entries so it really took me by surprise. Since there are so many entries, I'll probably have a few "honorable mentions".
  13. The voting page has been fixed and the deadline for voting has been extended until Monday, July 27, 2009. I apologize for the inconvenience.
  14. In Development! Hmm... that looks really awesome! Maybe this whole thread is just a lead-in to the new feature!
  15. 1976 Hello! We are only a couple of months into our second season, but the groundwork for next year's addition has already begun! While I cannot say what exactly it will be, it will be huge addition! Right now this area is open to guests, but it acts more as an access route from the parking lot to the back of the park. Crews have already cleared out a large plot of land. The Great Twist is down again. I think we're going to begin looking at whether spending the money on the frequent repairs is a wise investment. What do you think?
  16. ^ Next year I will most likely have to cut down all the entries to around 20. But so far a few photos have gotten more than four votes so we'll see how it goes.
  17. All the pictures are great - I was really impressed.
  18. Found out today that I saw the kid from Journey to the Center of the Earth at Dollywood. I knew it was somebody famous but I didn't know exactly who.
  19. Voting is now open. You can vote here: http://www.coaster101.com/vote
  20. I highly regret not paying the $40 to do that. SkyZip seems to be a huge success. Great update! (except there was no food)
  21. Glad to hear everything is alright, Natalie! It's a huge relief to have it behind you! But watch out - I had mine taken out on Monday and I got a wind of energy on Wednesday where I thought I could do anything and everything I wanted... that's false. Take it easy for a few more days.
  22. 1976 I stayed late tonight to get some pictures of Derecho at night. It's quite a sight to see! - Michael May The sun sets over Charleston Gardens Amusement Park. As nighttime sets in, Derecho is illuminated beautifully. Most of the ride can be seen thanks to the lighting.
  23. I wish I could go back in time a few weeks to when I was at Dollywood so I could get one of those cinnamon buns, they look really good! I only got a funnel cake... Great update, there's nobody better than the Dollywood folks, IMO!
  24. 1976 Hello! We are one week into our season and the crowds have been excellent! They have far surpassed our initial expectations. - Michael May This is a good crowd for a Monday in May! I cannot release details, but this area will change drastically in the future. Parachute Falls is still the tallest ride in the park. During the lunchtime hour the line for Derecho and the other rides get shorter... that's when I ride!
  25. Hey guys you have to enter the contest through the form which can be found here.
