  1. I was at Dollywood on Monday and Tuesday, I took pictures on Monday and then filmed on Tuesday. It was pretty awesome! We always go during Kids Fest, so the crowd was very... kiddy. But it's all good, the lines weren't too bad, I got to reride everything I wanted to. The key at Dollywood is to stay as late as you can, because around 5 or 6 everybody leaves to head for the gravy buffets on the Pigeon Forge strip, so you're left with a GCI and a Euro-Fighter that are waiting to be ridden endlessly! It was an excellent two days, Dollywood cannot be outdone! Oh yeah, someone in the park told me that in 5 years they'll be getting racing wooden coasters behind the County Fair on that hill (I'm guessing across the service road). Take that with a grain of salt but they've been right before! Onto the pictures: The crowds are beginning to die down! Time for re-rides! This is my favorite part of the ride after the second drop. Timber Tower was up and down most of the day, I don't like spinning so I skipped it. Here's the first half of Mystery Mine. The second half is actually alot better. Hey, the Village Idiot wants its Village Carousel back. I'm always scared to venture into the County Fair area, it's basically a giant dead end. Between the layout and the scooter breeding ground that it is, I find it difficult to get out. I got drenched on this ride. So much so that I was told my boxers could be seen. Awesome. Yeah that's right. It might be short, but it's definitely sweet! Now this is what I consider to be the best steel coaster at the park! Ah, the Grist Mill... With this new Wilderness Pass area comes new views of Mystery Mine! I was surprised with how many people were riding SkyZip! Haha gotcha, it's River Battle! Now what you've been waiting for... FREE PIE! River Battle is a pretty cool ride, everybody gets drenched! This is probably the worst part. And now a word from our sponsors... this trip report is brought to you by LARGE CLAW MACHINE GAME. The problem is all in the restraints! There's too much room for upper body movement. Basically, if you're not a fatty or Pamela Anderson, you're gonna get knocked around. It also hurts another area... But other than that, it's an awesome ride! I want to love this ride, but it hurts like hell. Oh God... Those folks over yonder just got PWNED by Thunderhead. It doesn't look like a 100 foot drop from here but it is... IT IS. I've found that the playground next to Thunderhead gives you the best photo ops. Only downside is that everybody looks at you like you're a terrorist or a pedophile. I've been riding more wooden coasters lately, but nothing can knock this ride of my #1 spot. Yeah, this is more like it! Great! Well, I reckon it's time to head back. Another great trip to Dollywood in the bag! Thanks for reading. Hang Time! Mystery Mine and the sky, that's about it.
  2. I'll probably release a download for the next season. I can only give a list of the CS used, I can't offer it in the download. Sadly, there's no importer in RCT3 like there is in RCT2. Thanks for the replies!
  3. ^ Glow effect in Picasa. 1975 Hello again! I took a helicopter ride with the designer of our upcoming addition to get a better view of the site clearing which has just started. Take a look for yourself! - Michael May Our park doesn't have a perfect shape now, but it will in the coming seasons! The clearing has begun! I took the designer on Parachute Falls for another great view of the area. This is a great way to end the day!
  4. I'm using Picasa, a free program from google. On many of the pictures I go halfway between black and white and color.
  5. 1975 We're halfway into our first season and I'm very pleased to announced we have the go-ahead to build a large scale attraction that was originally going to open with the park this past April. Things are about to get exciting! - Michael May I can't release any details yet, but this shot will look very different next summer! As will this! Move over Carolina Calamity, you won't be ruler of the park for long! Something bigger and badder is on the way. As I said earlier, things are about to get VERY interesting!
  6. ^ It's a RCT3 Movie. Paraglider Character Bio Charles Browning Charles Browning has become engulfed in the underground drug trafficking business in New York City. He stays held up in his condominium, always weary of the mob that is watching his every move. After a deal falls through, Charles is driven to the edge of sanity when he fires a gun at his door after hearing a knock. His life is about to change forever. I AM STILL LOOKING FOR A VOICE TALENT! THE DATE HAS BEEN EXTENDED TO JUNE 20th.
  7. 1975 I was able to visit the park as a guest tonight, something I don't often do. I have to say, it's a relief to see the park after the sun sets... it's quite cooler! - Michael May Our mascot, Ellie the Elephant patrols the park entertaining guests throughout the day. The bumper cars play lively music that fills the midway. I ended my day with a ride on the Sky Wheel... the queue is very bright at night!
  8. 1975 We continue to see the crowds! I have been busy all this week helping to promote the park and conduct day-to-day business, but I took some time off to walk through the park this afternoon. - Michael May It's fun to watch Parachute Falls from a distance. You can see how massive it really is. Everyone seems to enjoy the view! Our excellent ride operators work diligently to keep the lines short. The lemonade stand is a great place to take a break.
  9. 1975 - GRAND OPENING Our beautiful park has openend its doors to astonishing amounts of people! We never expected to have this turnout on our first day. We would like to extend our gratitude to the residents of surrounding communities who flocked to Charleston Gardens Amusement Park on this beautiful April Saturday. - Michael May At first we were a bit worried as the earlybird rush wasn't what we expected. But the the flow of guests quickly began to increase. The line for the carousel quickly filled. It was great to see Parachute Falls finally operating! We got a great response from The Great Twist! But of course the most popular ride of the day was Carolina Calamity! I'm not sure there was a train that wasn't full all day! The final drop under the station suprised many! The bumper cars were also very popular. Everyone seemed to enjoy Monster Mash Hotel! I am humbled that the guests greatly exceeded our expectations. Tomorrow is a bright day.
  10. I'm glad I got all the credits at this park. It's a real nice park and it has potential, but I don't think PARC has been beneficial so far. Keep in mind this park closed and sat abandoned for 3 years before reopening so I really hope it can pull through this slump.
  11. Thanks, I thought I'd do something different. I'll be uploading these pics and more unedited so I'll post a link once they're all online.

  13. Sheikra's my number one coaster so I was pretty excited when I heard my youth choir was going to Florida this year. I'd like to say I had a little influence in picking which park we went to. The guys at this park are awesome. Case in point: We all ran towards Sheikra but were stopped at the "This part of the park opens 30 minutes later" sign. The three guys there were cool but when we asked them if we sang they would let us go early... they said YES! So we sang one of our songs and they let us through. We got to Sheikra 10 minutes before we were supposed to! I've never been the first train out of any station before. It was pretty cool. Now for the photoshopped photos... You can also see these pictures on Coaster101. The group arrived early in the morning to the beautiful entrance plaza of Busch Gardens Africa. Throughout the day, we frequently heard the park referred to as Busch Gardens Tampa Bay. However it seems as if Busch Gardens Africa is the official name. After the park opened, it was time to run to Sheikra! Although it was unlikely Sheikra had even opened yet, we were determined to be the first ones there! As we turned the corner and came upon the entrance to Sheikra, I was reminded once again of its true size. I've never seen a picture do the size of this ride any justice. We were the first train out of the station. It's been two years since I've been on the ride, so I had forgotten what a great view you got before the drop. I had also not ridden the ride without a floor, so that was a cool feeling having abosolutely nothing under you as you fall. The bottom of the first drop provides some nice forces. I guess that's why they put the cameras there! The immelman is one of the smoothest inversions I've ever experienced. You can't help but stopping and staring at the ride. We were fortunate enough to have the unlimited food wristbands. Basically these allow you to eat in any of the restaurants in the park with very little limits. You can only get one entree, one side, and a drink when you go through the line, but you can go through the line as many times as you 'd like! Needless to say I ate well. Only one person in our group threw up though! Right after eating everybody except me rode Scorpion. I don't care for it so I took pictures instead. Nothing beats getting completely drenched on a hot day in Tampa Bay! We needed a way to dry off, so what better way to do that than Kumba! I know this is an awesome ride, but my head can't handle it. I can only ride it once. We decided to take the train to the other side of the park. We came across what we were going to conquer next. I didn't get to ride Montu last time so it was a new experience for me. Like Kumba, I can only ride it once but it packed some nice forces and I liked the long layout. But I wish they still had the alligators under the prelift section... After Montu we went back to the best ride in the park. Everyone on this train was left speechless. I got a total of 9 rides on Sheikra. Schools were still in session so the lines were all under five or ten minutes. Bird. My 50th coaster was Gwazi Tiger. It was just as painful as Gwazi Lion two years ago. It would be a great coaster if it weren't so painful. Thanks for reading this update!

  15. 1975 Well folks we are a couple of weeks away from Charleston Gardens Amusement Park's grand opening! We are spotting up the paint jobs, hanging up the remainder of the signs, and doing little things as we prepare for the big day. Over the next several days leading up to the opening we'll be having members of the media tour the park for stories. Our public relations department has done a fine job at sending memos to all of the news stations. Our skyline might be small now, but I have a feeling big things are in store for our future. The entrance is empty now, but that will all change in a short amount of time! The rides are completing their final rounds of testing to ensure safety for our guests. I was able to ride Carolina Calamity! For a smaller coaster, it packs quite the punch. The park glows at night. Sometimes as I'm leaving the park to go home I pause and take it all in. Even with everything closed... it still has this glow to it. It feels like home already. I can't wait for it to truly come to life. ___________ I will be out of town for a week starting tomorrow. I'll be at Busch Gardens Tampa on June 4th - If you'll be there send me a PM. While I will have access to the forum I won't have access to the game so this will be the last update for a while. Thanks for your continued support! - CD5
  16. Short drop = Short runway. At least that's how I see it.
  17. Quoted from another forum: "I didn't follow the tutorial, but I think I did what the tutorial was telling me to do, (it was too complicated to understand). I believe I did it using the underwater coaster tutorial. It includes an option.txt cheat that you have to use, but basically every piece of the log flume that I built had to be built "halfway underground". But I had to raise each piece of land not by the ingame increments, but by microscopic distances. It sounds more complicated than it is."
  18. We got the chance to interview Tony of Cedar Point. He's one of the guys that writes the On Point! Blog, but that's not all he does! You can check out the entire interview here.
  19. Apparently there's a rumor floating around up there that the park may be closing. I talked to some family in Gurnee last week and they told me that they heard it was going to remain open for another year. I didn't have alot of time to ask them to elaborate on it much further, though.
  20. 1975 We are approaching the completion of this park! We are a little ahead of schedule, actually! Please enjoy these photos of our terrific water attraction: Indigo Plunge Indigo Plunge will be the ultimate way to cool off during a hot day at the park! The 30 foot plunge into the water below will surely soak everybody! The ride begins with a meandering course adjacent to Carolina Calamity. We've built special drains to assure that the folks enjoying a meal at the Greenway Cafe don't get an extra serving of water with their food. Onlookers can get a glimpse of the riders' faces as the boat plunges toward the water. Indigo Plunge will give a great ride at night as well! I can't wait to take a spin on this one!
  21. ^ No, that doesn't work. Not with wooden supports.
  22. This summer CD5Productions invites you to travel on their biggest adventure to date. An adventure that will take you places... an adventure that will show you the wonders of the world... an adventure through time... a life-changing, life-saving, breath-taking adventure... Never have I worked harder or longer to bring you such a majestic film filled with courage, discovery, friendship, love, and redemption. So journey with me as I take you on the adventure of a lifetime. Coming this summer.
  23. ^ It's only been open for a few days now. In time, we should be seeing more trip reports, especially as vacation season kicks into gear. I'm really pulling for this place, too. But I think they're gonna really have to amp it up for them to survive.
  24. What you're doing truly is great. That video on the homepage really brings it into perspective how many dogs in "shelters" are put down.
