  1. Isn't there some "pirate festival" in St. Augustine each year? The old town is like walking on the set of a pirate movie.
  2. That's what it looks like to me, too. I'm calling "shenanigans" on this. As has been said earlier, we'll know soon enough. Please quit posting blurry, indistinct photos.
  3. ^Hmm--this photo isn't exactly receiving widespread acceptance at the KD Fansite. No offense meant to you here, but I'm going to write this off as a fake until we receive something definitive from the park. We'll know soon enough.
  4. Just out of curiousity, what is your source for this photo?
  5. Desserts + Mr. Toad's Wild Ride - Long Lines = Excellent!
  6. Yeah, I think there's intelligent life on other planets. Why they would want to spend any time on Earth is what I can't figure.
  7. Sounds like a great day at Knott's, Robb--especially the Calico Mine Tour and Haunt presentation. All this, and fried chicken and boysenberry pie.
  8. Sigh! Is there nothing that bacon can't improve?
  9. Spinspider is one of the most intimidating looking flat rides I've ever seen. At the top of its arc, it's way over the tallest trees. I wonder how Bon Bon Land is going to theme this sucker. This is the home of the "Dog Fart Coaster," after all. Puking rats might make a good motif.
  10. ^^I say, a capital suggestion, my good man! Simply capital!
  11. Still haven't been to Cedar Point--maybe I should put Coastermania on the this year's agenda, thanks to Club TPR.
  12. The WCB flyer FAQs are your friend. Please read them. Thank you.
  13. I haven't been to a fair like this in years. This TR makes me want to check out the Va. State Fair this year, but I doubt it could be as awesome as this (hard to top "Yeti chicken"). The old Patterson (Calif.) Apricot Fiesta was never this amusing, but we had great tamales (particularly those from the Mexican Baptist Church). Mr. Fish looks like Ernest Borgnine, and Stacey is, indeed, a very cute strawberry.
  14. I stayed at the Extended Stay America in Stevenson Ranch a few years ago--it was OK and not expensive (at least when going through Hotwire). They had a good coffee shop on the grounds, too.
  15. Opinions are like a certain bodily orifice--everybody's got one. Your opinion has been noted and logged. As for mine, I'm looking forward to seeing even more of Hanno's great photos from a great TPR trip.
  16. I think Boreal Ridge used to have an alpine slide, but they took it out years ago.
  17. I'm going to assume the original schedule is correct until the park announces otherwise. We shall know soon enough.
  18. I thought Alice in Wonderland was entertaining enough (much better than Spielberg's wretched Hook, which had a similar premise). But turning Alice into some sort of "action hero" goes against the grain. After all, she's a character to whom things happen and she just reacts (when you get down to it, the original story is just Alice dealing with crazy, annoying people). What saves this movie is the cast, and it is a better flick than Burton's Planet of the Apes. But not Burton's best by a long shot.
  19. ^Ride it someday, and you'll find out.
  20. Let's not forget that movie history (of a sort) was made over the weekend. Sandra Bullock became the first to win the Oscar for Best Actress and the Razzie for Worst Actress (for All About Steve) in the same year. She even accepted her Razzie in person on Saturday.
  21. ^Robb, I will pay you my first-year's membership dues in person the weekend of WCB. Thanks for all your work on Club TPR.
  22. The only category I was all that interested in was Best Supporting Actor--Waltz's "Col. Hans Landa" was the easily the best movie villain last year. I was hoping that Up or Inglorious Basterds would win Best Picture, but knew there wasn't much chance. Still have no desire to see Avatar.
  23. ^I've also found this to be a very effective system.
  24. Is the butter deep fried in butter? Do they offer a lower-cholesterol version fried in margarine? Charcoal-grilled butter would be a challenge. Is it just me, or does this seat resemble a floppy-eared dog?
