  1. I'm convinced that choking on your own bile has become a hobby for some people. Each day, the movie Idiocracy seems more relevant.
  2. ^As I see it, you have two choices in life: 1) relax, enjoy yourself, and live your life as you see fit, or 2) sit around choking on your own bile and try to make others feel as miserable as you do. All too many people choose option 2.
  3. Robb, your cupcake looks like a sad, melting, yellow snowman--but did he taste good?
  4. Threads about lawsuits involving theme parks and injuries tend to get a little out of control. Let's keep the tone civil, everybody. Yes, I'm repeating myself--again. This is why I hate "lawsuit" threads.
  5. Nominating Toy Story 3 in both the "Best Picture" and the "Best Animated Feature Film" pretty much guarantees it'll win the latter. If the other two toon flicks weren't "Best Picture" worthy, they couldn't possibly be as good at Toy Story 3, right? Having ten nominees for "Best Picture" is such nonsense.
  6. ^Damn you, Joey! I so want a basket of those, now!
  7. Excuse me for feeling compelled to repeat something I said earlier: Threads about lawsuits involving theme parks and injuries tend to get a little out of control. Let's keep the tone civil, everybody.
  8. I actually knew a little bit about that. The point I was trying to make was that the lawyer in this case will use the McDonald's case as a precedent. Even though parent's negligence should override any harm done, the lawyer will more than likely just have to prove that the nacho cheese was too hot and win his case. Actually, what will likely happen is Disney will just settle out of court. I agree that the case will most likely be settled out of court. My main point is that it's a little premature to make any sort of judgment about the case until all the facts are known. I'd sue, too, if I was stuck on "It's a Small World" for an extra 40 minutes--unless they gave me free nachos.
  9. ^I feel compelled to point out a few things about the McDonald's "hot coffee" suit. The company had been quietly settling similar lawsuits about their coffee for years, until they got tired of it. Unfortunately, they probably should've settled one more--picking on old lady/grandmother types is usually a bad idea. In fact, they had a chance to settle this suit for $20,000, but refused. In court, McDonald's had to reveal that they had settled 700 similar lawsuits, and that their coffee was, in fact, about 50 degrees hotter than coffee served at most other restaurants. In other words, they acknowledged that their coffee had injured people in the past. The 79-year-old victim had suffered third-degree burns over 6 percent of her body and required skin grafts and hospitalization. The jury awarded her $2.7 million in punitive damages, which the judge reduced to $480,000. Now, I'm not saying that the nacho-cheese case is "legitimate," here--only that the McDonald's hot-coffee case was very poorly reported in the media.
  10. ^The old Drachen Fire station and barn work well as Howl-o-Scream mazes.
  11. I'm sorry, but the cat-o-nine-tails is out of the bag, and the rules require a flogging. I've no doubt that the park makes allowances for using the old entrance from time to time (hence, why they had passes handy for preferred parking), but I would not recommend doing this on a regular basis. But you have made me more curious, so I think I might ask the park about it.
  12. ^I take it that you're referring to the England lot? Yes, they do use it for preferred parking, but you still enter via the main entrance. The attendant by the France lot (also preferred parking) will direct to the England lot if that is where you're supposed to go. (You also leave via the old entrance from the England lot.)
  13. ^I'm not sure what you mean by "That's some 'special.'" If you get there before opening, you'll be fine. And, yes, if you wait until, say, noon on a Saturday, you'll probably encounter the parking-lot traffic jam.
  14. I'll alert the media. After watching those videos, I surprised the three of you came out alive.
  15. ^At least you were able to keep it balanced between both sides.
  16. Chipotle just opened in Williamsburg last year, but I haven gotten around to trying it yet. There's a similar chain called California Tortilla (which originated in Washington, D.C.) that makes pretty good steak quesadillas (and they have a good, smoky-tasting chipotle sauce). Moe's just opened here late last year, too (I do like those joints).
  17. That's correct. The station for the old Smurf train ride was also located in that mountain. You can see it all clearly from Avalanche's lifthill.
  18. Frankly, this is not a thread that TPR needs. Forums and Web sites rise and fall on their own merits. The best way to treat a site you don't like is simply not to post in it. Thank you for understanding, Chuck
  19. I wouldn't recommend doing this. The old entrance is meant for staff and tour buses (they also use it for media days), and I doubt the park would look kindly on others trying to use it.
  20. ^^I'm sure this ride will be required in all future training for Ferrari mechanics.
  21. They're in awe of your sitting skills, honed by years of watching TV. Or maybe that you made it back without puking.
  22. "Damn you! Damn you all to hell!"
  23. 13 out of 20--my geekiness is now in question.
  24. ^I trust Shane's opinion much more than any knuckleheaded reporter's. Water parks are hardly "going away"--but I'm willing to bet that the weak performers are being weeded out.
