  1. ^Agreed. I've yet to do a big Texas park trip, but I've always liked this park's setting--unique among the Six Flags parks.
  2. It was posted by a forum user trying to show construction progress. It's not published by a brand trying to push content. If I took a construction picture of a coaster, I wouldn't give a shit where it gets reposted. I'm just trying to show progress of a cool coaster in a relatively dead thread. You should still give credit where credit is due. No need to be defensive about it.
  3. ^I wouldn't call them particularly scary, but they are fun. I am curious about the new "Frostbite" maze in DarKastle.
  4. Thanks for the photos and video. I think a Cedar Point visit is definitely on my radar for 2018 (it's been a few years for me). This is looking like a New Texas Giant level of insanity!
  5. I'm reasonably sure that this will be a helluva lot better than the original Mean Streak. Just a hunch.
  6. ^It's worth a visit for Karnan alone, but Hansa is an excellent park overall.
  7. Third thread I've had to clean out today due to the nonsense of one fool. Strike three, he's out.
  8. I had to clean up this thread today, too. Ugh! People of TPR, I implore you: Please be respectful of each other. I now return you to the SFOG Discussion Thread, which is already in progress. Farewell, Georgia Cyclone!
  9. I just cleaned up a lot of stupidity and name calling in this thread. Seems like I've had to do this quite a bit over the last few days. Sigh. Let's keep the conversation civil and focused on Six Flags Over Texas, please. Thank you.
  10. ^D'oh! Fixed in both places. Thank you.
  11. Great trip report! Karnan (along with Skyrush) is one ride that I find truly frightening (in a good way) and Fluch von Novgorod's great, too.
  12. This is the best slate of announcements to come out of this expo in years.
  13. I just cleaned a rather nasty multi-member pileup out of this thread. The topic is "Six Flags New England"; let's try to stay with that. Yes, grammar and spelling are important, but please leave the moderating to the moderators. As for all you would-be comedians who jumped on the flaming band wagon: Har-de-har-har. Thank you.
  14. ^That's what I assume. I wonder if they'll use the ride's projection screens, as well. They can certainly make it cold in that building.
  15. Odd--nobody complained when they closed Europe in the Air for Unearthed. If it's a good maze, I'm OK with using the DarKastle building for it.
  16. NEW CHILLS COMING TO HOWL-O-SCREAM® Busch Gardens® Williamsburg adds FrostBite to its lineup of spooky haunted houses. WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (July 14, 2017) – A different kind of chill is coming to Howl-O-Scream® this year at Busch Gardens® Williamsburg. Goose bumps will be in store with the addition of FrostBite to Busch Gardens’ lineup of scary haunted houses. That’s not the only new feature this year at Howl-O-Scream. The park also will provide an exclusive sneak peek at the event with the first-ever Pass Member Howl-O-Scream Preview Night on Sept. 22. Park guests must have a valid annual Busch Gardens pass to attend this event. Howl-O-Scream opens Sept. 23 and runs every Friday, Saturday and Sunday through Oct. 29. New this year, the park will stay open until midnight on Saturdays in October and will add two Thursdays, Oct. 19 and 26, to its schedule. FrostBite, located inside the park’s Curse of DarKastle attraction, will take guests on a frigid journey through an enchanted stronghold that has been overtaken by icy creatures. Frost consumes everyone trapped within. Those who dare to walk through this fortress are exposed to a harrowing array of chilling elements. Pass members will get a first look at the new haunted house during their Preview Night, which will be held from 4-10 p.m. The entire park also will be open for pass members to enjoy their favorite haunted houses, Terror-tories™, thrilling rides, terrific shows and culinary delights. FrostBite, which replaces the retired Bitten, gives Busch Gardens seven haunted houses. NEW FrostBite: The fire-breathing giant that once guarded the enchanted dark castle has met his chilling demise. He once stalked the premises, providing the warm lifeblood for the stronghold, but now his bones are mere decoration in a macabre icy grave. Frostbite now consumes all those trapped within. The cold is not the only bone-chilling resident of the castle, however. For the ice has teeth … And this frost … Bites. Circo Sinistro: No one knows when or where the tents will rise, but all who see them are drawn to find out what lies inside Circo Sinistro at Busch Gardens Williamsburg’s Howl-O-Scream. This haunted house is not of this world and not of this time – but beware, what you see, you soon will be. Catacombs: Through a ruined cemetery filled with statues lies a tunnel that leads to an underground city. Its history is more terrifying than that of France’s worst revolutions. Deep within these tunnels lie mile after mile of bones—the final resting place for those who are buried here. But all is not as quiet as it appears. As guests venture forth into the dank, dripping corridors of rat infested remains, the voices of the dead begin to speak, and some have taken shape. Dead Line: Deep underground, construction of the newest line of the Pompeii Metro was moving smoothly until an ancient pipe was accidentally struck. At first, it seemed like steam. Then the mist became thicker, more sinister. Now the strange gas is leaking quickly, and everyone trapped inside is infected. The difficult decision was made to cut off all communication to the outside world. The Dead Line is off the grid. Cornered: It’s 1977 and a picturesque farming community is in an uproar over the ongoing disappearances of its residents. Each time someone goes missing, an intricate corn husk doll is left behind leading many to suspect local corn-farmer Jasper McCobb. The McCobb farm has fallen into disrepair since the death of Jasper’s mother. Could the missing townspeople be somewhere in the maze of maize? Join the search party and find out. Lumberhack: Hikers beware: The woods hold a terrifying secret. More than 50 years ago a logging camp was abandoned after a horrific accident where saws ripped into human flesh instead of tree bark. Tragically, the loggers perished … only to inexplicably awaken from death sometime later filled with inhuman rage. The undead loggers rampaged until every living thing in the camp had felt the bite of their axes. Now the forgotten lumberjacks lie waiting for unsuspecting campers to stumble into their den of the damned. Unearthed: Scarlett’s Revenge: During maintenance at the park, an excavation crew uncovered a centuries-old house buried deep beneath the ground. Upon opening its door, a sinister force was unearthed—Scarlett—a furious demon who wields a deadly deck of magical cards she uses to summon her evil minions. Journey below to experience the splintered labyrinth of horrors and the revengeful wrath of this demon scorned. Busch Gardens becomes a seriously scary place at 6 p.m. when the Howl-O-Scream haunts come out. Guests should consider the park’s elevated scare factor when deciding whether Howl-O-Scream is appropriate for young children. Hours of operation during Howl-O-Scream may vary. The Curse of DarKastle attraction will be closed for the season starting Sept. 4, then reopen as FrostBite on Sept. 22. Please visit www.howloscream.com/va for a schedule and additional information.
  17. I305 is the love child of Millennium Force and Maverick.
  18. It's high time that Magic Mountain had a dark ride. I'm looking forward to checking it out myself.
  19. I just removed a lot of bickering from this thread. I have no desire to do this again. Please respect Vekoma's wishes regarding this project--and cut out the name calling. Thank you.
  20. It's good to see this park getting some attention, as it could use some freshening up--as long as they keep their King Tut dark ride.
  21. I just removed some of the bickering from this thread. Let's keep things polite, please. Thank you.
  22. Very cool! I had no idea they'd added Harley Quinn.
  23. This is correct: the two middle seats of each row on Griffon and rows 5 and 6 (or is is 4 and 5?) on Alpengeist. They have double seat belts that lock into the OSRs.
  24. Verbolten's lapbar should be more forgiving than Apollo's restraint. InvadR 's can be a bit tricky. There are test seats at the entrance of the park's coasters it there's any doubt.
  25. I really enjoyed Bakken when I visited with TPR years ago. Any park that has Desperadoes is OK in my book, and their ghost train was lots of fun.
