  1. ^Personally, I thought the whole ride was hell, but to each his or her own.
  2. Looks like an amazing array of presents from which to steal. Who ended up with the Blue Streak sign?
  3. Yes: http://www.themeparkreview.com/parks/park.php?pageid=280. Just check out the Trip Reports. As for whether it's the "worst" theme park, I have no idea.
  4. I don't think I would classify South of the Border as a "theme park," unless the theme is an semi-abandoned Tijuana FEC overrun by zombies.
  5. I'm sorry, but isn't your list just as subjective as anybody else's? I see little point to this thread, especially when TPR devotes a substantial thread each year to the annual Mitch Hawker Poll. So, I'm locking it--but I do agree with you about Kingda Ka.
  6. I'll be there tomorrow night, which is also the night of Colonial Williamsburg's Grand Illumination--what has that done to attendance at Christmas Town in the past?
  7. Just shows what the right camera can do when placed in the right hands--great shots! All mine were crappy and blurry (wrong camera in the wrong hands ).
  8. The Internet is full of reports from IAAPA. This has been one of them. But it is, to the best of my knowledge, the only one in which a frog's tongue is pulled.
  9. This project has been fun to watch--the reborn Laff in the Dark is looking great!
  10. Same. Well, they did remove, rehab, and return the Catawumpus.
  11. ^They look temporary to me--something that would hold a plastic or canvas wall, perhaps. They could be putting something up to control erosion.
  12. We generally discourage "which park is better" threads, as they usually devlove into pointless and bickering and invalid comparisons. So I've locked yours for now. However, I'll mention it to the other mods, and it's possible that it could be unlocked (but no promises).
  13. ^It ran down the hill behind the old Big Bad Wolf station. They to shut it down and tear some of it out for the construction, of course.
  14. I'm curious about something else. Is the old waterfall going to be restored? That was always a nice feature.
  15. I had some time to kill before HHN in October, so I decided to check out Disaster because I'd never seen it before. After about one minute of watching Christopher Walken pull a paycheck, I figured that I would've been better off napping on a bench.
  16. It's good to see Verbolten moving right along, especially after all the fits and starts with Mach Tower this year.
  17. It would be the Sparkliest Place on Earth--and Bela would spin in his grave.
  18. Worst B&M: Probably Silver Star at Europa. The ride is just plain dull (I think it's the only bummer in an otherwise excellent park). Worst Intamin: For me, I'd say Kingda Ka at Six Flags Great Adventure. It's a shaky, uncomfortable ride.
  19. I think Joey sums up the situation pretty well. It's like Big Bad Wolf at Busch Gardens--the ride instantly became "more popular" after they announced it was being removed. I also agree that as much as I liked Jaws, I liked it even more during an RIP tour when I didn't have to wait an hour for it.
  20. That may be just as well. As I recall, that re-released, enhanced ET that came out a few years ago was a surprise flop. At least the ride was sort of "trippy."
  21. Not at all--I think Nemesis is the best ride B&M ever built.
  22. Because a bunch of enthusiasts on the Internet said so!
  23. I think this says it all. Here's to hoping something good comes of this. They were planning to close Jaws a few years ago, as I recall--or was that just a rumor?
  24. Time to start the "Save Jaws" Facebook page! Seriously, I would be sad to see this ride go; then again, I'm a sucker for cheesy rides like this.
