  1. Now there's a sentence I never expected to read anywhere.
  2. The Soaring Eagle looks like a great family attraction--a good thing to install at a resort or perhaps a ski lodge.
  3. Same here. I doubt I would've done it if Rich hadn't talked me into it.
  4. I think it's time to stop belaboring the "Will BGW becomes a year-round resort?" question. BG Noeit Al has presented his thoughts, and others have replied. Let's keep it from getting too heated, everyone.
  5. This gift may deserve a long awaited "Guy" Coaster Vid! Guy "Cause It's gots tha old wheels a spinnin!" Koepp Be afraid, world! Be very afraid!
  6. I don't turn up my nose at Pepsi products, but I do think Coke's drinks are better. I wonder if the Busch Gardens parks are following suit.
  7. I am very puzzled by this paragraph. What exactly are they supposed to "advertise" about Verbolten at the moment? "Come to BGW and see our themed construction walls, big green building, and huge piles of dirt (before the dirt goes away forever)"? Well, this might get enthusiasts into the park, anyway. I'm sure Verbolten's advertising campaign will kick into high gear the closer they get to opening the ride. Remember the issues they had with Mach Tower's opening. No one wants to burn themselves twice. For now, they have Christmas Town to promote. Yes, advertising will be necessary to put butts in the seats--this is obvious. The park's campaign for Verbolten will unfold as they've planned it.
  8. Hmm--the giant head in that Hair Raiser video looked strangely familiar . . . Holy Luna Park, Batman!
  9. It's great watching this project develop--thanks for the updates, Larry.
  10. I like the remote control zombie.
  11. I agree that snow would not be a major factor for running BGW during the winter. However, tourism drops off sharply in Williamsburg from January to March. Colonial Williamsburg lays off much of its staff during this period--and they are open year-round. That being said, I wouldn't be surprised if year-round operation is being considered for the park. It is an interesting thought, but I'm not entirely convinced it's a good idea. Then again, I don't work in the tourism industry.
  12. ^Is the old "Horn & Hardart" still in business? Martin, I kind of like Silbermine, but I share you opinion that it's "PIrates of the Caribbean" with Mexicans. The "haunted ricksaw" is definitely the better of the two dark rides--but did you not ride the classic Hollywood Tour?
  13. ^It's still good to see BGW "upping" its game a bit. Time will tell as to how successful they'll be.
  14. The new mini-golf course has a "Psycho House"--at least it looks like one.
  15. ^Just goes to show you that even a fairly cheesy ride like Jaws (which I love, by the way) can still scare the crap out of somebody. That kid has a "Count Floyd" haircut.
  16. The station is supposed to be a tourist center, so I would assume it has to do with travel. And all this time I was hoping that we'd see the first coaster themed to a luggage shop. All kidding aside, it looks like Busch is pulling out the stops to theme this ride, which is good to see.
  17. I think almost everyone on the site was caught off guard by this. Christmas shopping in a cave? Well, why not? Looks like a great trip, Martin.
  18. I can't quite get a handle on the themeing here--looks like a lost-and-found office for luggage.
  19. ^I agree that Carolina Cobra is better than Vortex. Stand-up coasters, with the exception of Riddler's Revenge and Georgia Scorcher, tend to be bad.
  20. Alpengeist during Christmas Town last Sunday night. It was a bit "brisk."
